Okay I over cooked it a little, there were three that applied to come, enough to fill the top three positions. Sorry to ruffle your feathers had nothing to do with my point anyway, so you can go back to your fine little world and we will continue to try and fix out not so fine little world.

Does not matter, you got a good coach and a better person, but they still will have a learning curve, besides as always we will take what we get and do the best with it. We will see what happens in the end, kids have a way of surprising people every year.

I will say this also, in concern for the coaches that we do hire, I am not trying to put you down in any way. Every good coach had to start some where and I am hoping that this chance brings out the best in every one of you and that each one of you becomes a diamond in the rough. I want to see you succeed to the highest so use anything that has been said on here only as motivation to show each of us what you are capable of and show us that we were all wrong. Good Luck and remember that if you just guide and create discipline in Talent it will go along way to success.

We will probably end up with a complete coaching staff, but it will have very few legitimate Football minds or experience, so we will have the positions filled and spend all of the money, but will still be without a football coaching staff. We could have had the entire Ennis staff, could have had several other AD's with coaches ready to fill positions, could have had what Pewitt got, could have had an all star coaching staff, but no we had a few people wanting to be in change and get all warm and fuzzy with what we HAD and now we don't even have what we HAD. This is the most epic FAIL I have seen in High School Football, maybe ever. I will be there as always, because that is what I do on Friday night, because these kids coming up love football and will play their hearts out and I want to see that, despite what the pride of a few have tried to tear down. Tiger Pride always.

At this point I think we would settle for warm bodies, got about enough to play a game of beach volleyball right now.

I have faith in a lot of things, but right now it is not in this process, right now we can barely do the Tango, much less try to run a sports program. Need an intervention.

I understood that none of the coaches were staying, so how many coaches are actually staying, now I have heard that it is still up in the air and not settled yet as to who is going and who is staying. So is this not true, do you know something that I do not know?

Well from my information we have two coaches hired to help, one with little experience from a six man program and one with i year experience in a 1-9 program. In talking to several local coaches this weekend, there are very few credible coaches left this time of year, so it looks like the AD will be HC, OC, and DC. Three of the board members have given the superintendent the right to hire anyone she chooses during the summer months without board approval. Which pretty much puts her on the hook if things do not work out. This is the worst thing that I have ever seen in a high school athletic program, I may get sent to the showers, but it truly looks like someone wants our sports program to be destroyed. Surely there is someone out there that can do something. I feel so sorry for these kids, our school, and our town.

As a Daingerfield allum I am so ashamed that all of this is going on and to tell you the truth I am getting very tired of all of it. It is not fair to any of us and especially the kids. They just want to play ball and win. Had a conversation with my Daddy just a few days ago and he is so disappointed, he has been watching this group of boys for a while, talking to them when he gets a chance, and so looking forward to watching them play now. He is in his 80's and has been so looking forward to this bunch of kids getting to varsity and being able to possibly see another Championship before he goes home. He said it is very sad that we a few people are willing to squander all of this talent for very selfish(really I have no idea what all of the reasons are but they are very sad). We not only need a head coach but we need a coaching staff, one man with is not going to get it done no matter who he is, so we need to find the very best path at this point to getting a coaching staff, and stop wasting valuable time that these kids deserve. It is time to stop all of the game playing, the selfish agendas and put these kids first and find the best path to a coaching staff or we are going to waste the talents of these kids and their futures. Someone please take charge of this mess who has the kids best interest at heart and get this thing fixed. Just makes me sick.....

You do not have to walk on water to prove that you are trying to walk in the light, just walk in the light and lead by example. I refer to what I said before, we do not expect miracles we just expect an example for our kids in the ones that lead them.

Having made so many mistakes in my life I believe with all my heart that people deserve extra chances in this life to make things right. However, in order to get those second chances you have to rectify the things that caused you to have to have a second chance. I am willing to give a second chance in this case and support Mr. Nelson to the best of my ability and believe that he truly has the KIDS, the SCHOOL DISTRICT, the TOWN, and the PEOPLES best interest at heart. However, it is time to man up and rectify the problem that has created this issue and created the need for a second chance and be the example that the kids so desperately need at this time. We want to support our coach, we want our kids to look up to their coach, but sometimes we as humans have to be shown not just told.

I think that the people that still live there are just trying not to rock the boat any more then it is already, the rest of us that are alumni and fans are just still in a state of shock. There is really nothing that can be said that has not been said and beating up on the school and town that you love can not really help. Just have to find other ways to try to make a difference.

I am afraid there are just as many insiders involved in this as outsiders, sad situation.

WHAT A TRAIN WRECK SOMEONE HAS CREATED. Get more mad every time something comes out. What else will we never know?

Could it be that the track program is in bad shape due to allowing the kids to do what they want and not even participate? Just asking because I heard that it was in bad shape and wondered why, maybe someone can enlighten us. I would like to know, because the girls team is awesome and they have a great coach.

See what we look like and what we will have to deal with, SCHOOL BOARD, SUPERINTENDENT, and COMMITTEE, congratulations on showing your lack of back bones and intelligence in this entire process and completing the task of making us the laughing stock around the state. I do want to thank all of the members who had the back bone to vote against this hire.

First Game, Gunter, has seen them, prepared for them, had a good game plan until he didn't, made zero adjustments that worked. Has the athletes to do what Newton was able to do on defense. I also do not think he was the best choice, but I will hold my judgement to see what he is able to get out of all of this talent. Going to be judged hard the first three games for sure, better be ready.
