  1. RB from Tidehaven is a stud. Their O-line seems to be winning the LOS battle so far.
  2. Congrats to the Bears and their fans. But I’m really happy to see Coach T get the ring. He’s one of the nicest guys in the business and he’s been so close for so long. Well deserved.
  3. Based on the sticker Terry is wearing on his helmet, I’m guessing he’s sticking with his commitment.
  4. What’s the under on how many plays it takes them to score again?
  5. True BAMA fans are not even thinking about the finals. The PROCESS strictly forbids looking past the opponent in front of us. The only opponent we are concerned with is the Michigan Wolverines. Everything else is irrelevant.

  7. Terry wasn’t going to SFA or any other FCS school. A kid that’s getting offers from UT, LSU and Alabama isn’t going FCS. Unless Coach Prime is recruiting him lol.
  8. Well, you know how government entities are when it comes to thinking they’re bigger than GOD.
  9. I believe UIL gets 15% of the gate on all playoff games, regardless of the sport. So if they sold 9,250 tickets at $5 each (I don’t know what the actual price was, just throwing out a number), take away the 15% to UIL, then the $10K for the facility to SFA, (that’s what someone posted here earlier), minus $3,000 for officials and miscellaneous expenses, and the schools should be splitting around $25,000. A pretty good night for everyone involved, including whoever takes the revenue from the concession stands.
  10. Congrats to the Timpson Bears and all of their supporters and fans. Well deserved!

  12. Whether anyone likes it or not, the transfer portal is a part of college football. I don’t think it’s bad that a player has a way out of a situation that he committed to as a 17 year old kid. I do think some kids wind up going from a bad situation to a worse situation occasionally. But it’s here to stay, in some form or another, and it’s a big part of the game so it bears watching. Post players here as you see them announce that they are entering the transfer portal. QB Brock Vandergriff, Georgia QB Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma WR Thai Jones-Bell, Alabama
  13. The truth of the matter is this: I enjoy watching good football players and good football teams play the game. Johnny Manziel was fun to watch, as long as he wasn’t playing your team. Ditto guys like Devonta Smith, Jayden Daniels, Tim Tebow, Derrick Henry, Kyler Murray, Brock Bowers, I could go on and on. Great teams, more often than not, are coached by great coaches. Nick Saban is the best the game has ever seen, to this point. He is second to none in recruiting, which is the lifeblood of a college program. He has made some very gutsy calls as a head coach, some of which worked out and made him look like a genius (inserting a true freshman QB at halftime of a national championship game), and others, not so much (lobbying for one second to be put back on the clock and trying a 57 yard FG with a freshman kicker in the Iron Bowl.) But the best thing about the guy is the way he is always willing to help his players, coaches and anyone else involved with the program better themselves. After the 2018 season that Jalen Hurts spent on the bench, then came in when Tua got injured to lead a comeback victory in the SECCG, Hurts told Saban that he planned to take advantage of the transfer portal so he could get another year as a starter under his belt. He wasn’t sure where he wanted to go. He had checked with Texas but wasn’t sure he was a good fit. He spoke with Mike Locksley at Maryland, but wasn’t sure about it. He also spoke with Lincoln Riley at OU. Saban essentially told him that it was a no-brainer to go play for Riley, who had coached back-to-back Heisman winners. Hurts took his advice and wound up as a Heisman finalist. Saban knew that there was a good chance that he would have to face Hurts if Alabama made the CFP in 2019. Didn’t matter. He advised the kid to do what was best for him. That said, I do believe that if Kirby Smart stays at UGA for a lengthy career, he will eventually surpass Saban in wins and championships. In 7 years, he has won 2 SEC titles and 2 national titles. He is very young, compared to Saban. I have no idea if he aspires to head to the NFL. I would think he has probably already turned down a couple of opportunities to do so. Georgia is his home. He had multiple opportunities to take really good jobs when he was at BAMA with Saban. He stayed until the Georgia job opened up. I would think it would take something huge to get him to leave. I also believe Sark will win a title at Texas in the next few years. The guy is an offensive genius and a great recruiter, and UT has unmatched resources. Like him or not, Nick Saban’s impact on college football will be felt for a long time after he is gone.
  14. Negative. I did once root for Texas in the 2005 National Championship vs The University of Spoiled Children. Mainly because Vince Young was fun to watch and because USC ranks #3 on my list of teams I most like to see lose. Tru storie
  15. I’m well aware of his advanced age. I think I heard the current President speak once about their time together in Korea. They exhibit some of the same characteristics of cognitive decline. Although im not as old as Kirt and his buddy Joe, I’m not exactly a spring chicken. Seeing how I was born in Alabama and both of my parents were Tide fans, I have been one since birth. My grandfather was a big time BAMA fan, while my grandmother favored Auburn. She absolutely despised Joe Namath. No one would go near their house on Iron Bowl day. Tru storie.
  16. I suppose you could blame them on him if you want to. And don’t get me wrong. Sark can coach. The guy has the “IT” factor. He was successful before his personal demons nearly destroyed his career. And I do believe that he would have gotten back to success eventually as long as he is committed to staying clean. The point I was making is that Saban helped speed up the process of Sark getting back on a successful path. Kirby Smart was going to be a successful head coach with or without Nick Saban. But I guarantee that he or Sark, or Lane Kiffin or Dan Lanning would tell you that working with Saban was good for their careers. As far as the misses, not everyone that is a good coordinator is cut out to be a great head coach, especially under the microscope of a major program. Jeremy Pruitt is a prime example. The guy is probably Saban’s second best DC (behind Kirby), but was a disaster as a HC at Tennessee. Some guys just don’t have it.
  17. You have me mixed up with someone else. I was wearing BAMA gear on the school bus when your mama put you on there in your burnt orange knickerbockers.
  18. Negative. I was a BAMA fan when Saban was a grad assistant at Kent State and you were scrubbing latrine floors with your toothbrush. But keep trying. Your commitment to your stupidity is admirable.
