  1. I believe my schedule shows us (Joaquin) playing West Rusk at WR. Are you sure this game has been moved to Joaquin, or will it be played at Tatum?
  2. Looking forward to a good game tonight. Hoping to see the Rams get win #2. Take care of the football boys!!
  3. Funny story. 1985 (I think) Joaquin had Tenaha scheduled for a Saturday JHS Homecoming game. Both schools had bonfires set up for the Friday night before the game. Sometime during school hours on Friday, several Tenaha seniors (I believe one of them went by the name Hayseed) drove to Joaquin's baseball park where the bonfire was set up and torched it. When school was out at Joaquin, several seniors drove to Tenaha and torched their bonfire right in front of the school. Neither school got to have their bonfire.
  4. Alto is definitely for real. Garrison should give them a heckuva game for that district. I think Shelbyville and Grapeland will battle for the 3rd playoff spot over there. In Division II, Tenaha is the team to beat, definitely in East Texas, probably statewide. All of the teams capable of playing with them are in Division I. If they are healthy getting to the playoffs, they are East Texas's best chance for a state title.
  5. Likewise, our biggest rival is Tenaha, although I don't agree with the idea that this game makes or breaks a season for either team. Last year is a prime example. This game does have a long history of blowouts. I can only remember once in the past twenty years that the score was close, and that was a 0-0 tie.
  6. Should be a pretty competitive game. I'm taking Bowie by a TD.
  7. Good thing he keeps that crystal oiled up!
  8. Would love to see both of them back in time for Frankston, but IDK if Norris will be ready by then or not. I hope so. It wouldn't surprise me for Tyler to sit out till the Winona game. Nothing until then matters anyway, and we're gonna need him for district. They are gonna do what's best for him though, you can bet.
  9. If you don't build a new one now, you'll likely never get one. And you're only gonna get the chance to do this once, so I say definitely turf. Good luck with getting it done.
  10. Hey if you've ever followed Joaquin football over the past 8 years, you'd know that 5 passes per game is a big deal! At one point last year, we went 3 consecutive games without a pass attempt!
  11. Do I detect a hint of sarcasm in your post?
  12. If that actually happens let me know. I'm gonna have to drive 12 miles west to see that! BTW, we threw 5 passes last week!
  13. Take Hwy. 79 East from Carthage, go through Deberry, turn left on FM 9, follow it till you cross I-20, turn left and that street will take you straight to the visitors parking lot at the stadium. You can also come through Center and Joaquin to Logansport, take Marshall Rd north till you cross the state line where it will become FM 31, and it will bring you out in Deberry. From there turn right on 79 and go up to FM 9.
  14. Hats off to Coach Blankenship and the White Oak Administration for doing the right thing!
  15. I don't believe I've nominated anyone for POW. When I do, he will win it hands down, cuz you will be the only one who doesn't vote for him. So Mama bought her a Caddy and gave you the Pinto, huh? She's so sweet!!!!!
  16. Great, you picked us to win. Now our chances are shot. Go wash the Pinto again, Mama said you missed a spot.
  17. The Rams are very young, but things are starting to come together. They are improving each week, and got their first win of the season this week against Hemphill. As many sophomores and freshmen as we have seeing significant playing time, we will be a force to reckon with in the coming years. I wish we could have continued the rivalry with your Bearcats, but there is nothing we could do about that. Good luck to yall this year.
  18. Gonna be a tough battle. I hope to see the Riders step up and play with a lot of intensity and pull out the W. I'm goona say: Center: 21 Henderson:20
  19. A PAT for a TD scored as time has run out is only carried out if it has a bearing on the outcome of the game. For instance, had the last second TD resulted in a tied score, the scoring team would have been given a chance to tack on the PAT.
  20. That's good to know. Hopefully they will get the timing down on the passing game, and it will produce more. We are going to have to be able to throw the ball to loosen up the defenses in our district so we can run against them. We seem to be throwing the ball more this year, at least that's the way it looks. I think we are averaging about 5 passes per game.
  21. After having seen White Oak twice over the past two years, I don't see Redwater out-physicaling the Roughnecks. White Oak by 3 TDs.
  22. Carlisle wins this one by as many as they want.
  23. Stinks have you seen any stats on the Hemphill game? Now that Krueger has expanded his coverage, he seems to be getting to our games last. With the score in that game, you have to believe we have some kids worthy of POW noms. Also, does anyone know how much we threw the ball?
  24. Nope, now that the Obama administration has totally screwed up the rest of this country, now they're coming after the best thing we've got. They are trying to infiltrate the ranks of high school football fans in East Texas, because they believe it isn't "fair" that we have the best football in the nation. They want to try to water our football down and weaken it so that other states can say they are as good as Texas.
