Congratulations to Gunter. I have seen the comments from the players and they did the work prior and worked hard to disrupt our game. I also appreciate their comments regarding our players and we had some good playmakers, but Gunter played a great game and did what no one else really did all season to shut us down. They have earned my respect and I hope they win it all again. Just a classy group of coaches and kids. Good luck the rest of the way and keep that humbleness!

Lots of comments on here.....It concerns me that people rarely mention WHOLE or COMPLETE athletic programs anymore,,,,,Or give a coach time to build a program. When a coach comes in he inherits 5 years of athletes who have been under someone else's direction, so how long does it really take? I can't imagine taking to the field a group with 7-8 sophmores. That's JV for everyone else. As for other sports other than football or baseball,,,,,who is at the board meetings demanding a better program or voting in elections for better facilities. Gilmer is slowly but surely turing things around there, and can you say the same for other schools. Captntmo,,,Terrific point,,,,,Sounds like Diana has more success than outsiders realize,,,guess insiders take it for granted.

Montrae lived in Jefferson's district. Sorry to bust your bubble but the line between Ore City and Jefferson is not even a mile outside OC on 450. check your facts before you post. Other than that Parents can move wherever these days thanks to too many rules such as bullying etc that give you the right to move.

Waskom wins this one 56-28. HS can't stop this offense. Waskoms defense is better than anyone realizes. Waskom compares to Daingerfield a few years back when they had similar scores on the way to State under Bowman. IMHO

Let;s compile a list of Softball Recruits and the college they are headed to. Mention a player if you feel they ought to get a look from colleges. Give this sport the recognition due to these girls in East Texas. Absolutely NO objections or poor comments on players, Thanks!

I hate that my positive comment regarding WO rubbed you the wrong way. Please read in context before you respond to my posts. When you think about it, do some research on which teams I may have been talking about. That is what I was referring to with pride. Respect the people you play. There are some teams just as good as WO not too far away. A healthy respect for those programs is the key to moving very deep in the playoffs. There...I just said WO could go very deep!

Pride is a killer in baseball. Momentum is the key and it looks like there is a darkhorse in the mix. White Oak is good but they have to get past the second round. The north district may be stronger than in the last couple of years. Go west and sneaky teams are very capable of beating anybody like a drum Somehow Jefferson is in the mix and I was not sure they would be at this point. Waskom is HOT! Diana has second wrapped up.
