I have to say that we were really surprised watching them also. I haven't seen the first play out of Lufkin this season, but I did see the talent of Ward and his receiver. I can't predict a winner, but LP's defense better bring it if they are going to have a chance.

Donations collected at Aug 24 scrimmage will benefit THSCA As a part of the Longview vs John Tyler Scrimmage on Aug. 24 at Lobo Stadium. LISD will take part in the "Our Day to Shine" for the THSCA. Donations will be accepted that will go toward the benevolence fund for players that have hardship cases, suffer injury and any memorial benefit approved by the association., The THSCA has raised more that $250,000to assist student athletes in need.

From the very small amount that I know about Overstreet, he is a talented athlete. I did not even vote in your poll. My gripe is only about the premise of this thread!! You can't change the rules in the middle of an argument when it does not go your way. It started as any position and ended up as quarterback. It is quite obvious that no one is going to change wolfpack's opinion, and he isn't going to change yours. I think all of us have handled all of your insults as diplomatically as we possibly can. Since it seems like everyone is going to that very immature place, I have decided to chime in my .02........... As an exceptional athlete, would Overstreet have gotten all those yards and all of those TD's if he had been running up against a big 5A defense? In a 2A field of players, Overstreet was a huge fish in a very small pond. Would he have been that same huge fish in a large pond? We will only know that when he starts playing with players of his size and caliber. Would he have played at Longview? Probably. Would he have had those same great stats? Probably not, because he would have been up against players on his level. IMO!!

No, I would not be concerned in the least. I would have read the entire thread and figured out that NO ONE was bashing this child or his mother, If anything, it was all in the interest of how talented he is and that we would rather see him playing in Longview than DeSoto. Not one single person outed him for anything. I hope that he is happy and successful in DeSoto, as does everyone else. This was all blown completely out of proportion and you sticking your nose into something that is none of your business does not help matters at all. I agree with Wolfpack.............. go find somewhere else to troll!
