  1. Congrats to the Seniors at OHS. I know how badly you wanted to return to state this year. You played a hard fought last 2 games. Heard Williamson's arm was hurting coming into the game. Cudos to the Rhinehart kid for coming on the mound in game 2 (of the series). That had to be tough to be in that position. I don't envy you, but you did a great job of keeping your head up, being a leader, and fighting through. You don't have anything to be ashamed of. You also hit the ball great all the way to the end, too. Darden, Williamson, Crawford, Stickland, Wedel, Moore, Florey, and Osborn all had a heck of year, as well. Heck, I can't say enough about everyone on the team. You don't get as far as you did without being a great team. Even the pros can have a bad day once in a while. It's a shame you can't start that whole day over again. Well........ maybe minus the cowbell. Best of luck to all you and Coaches Jackson and Barton, as well.
  2. Anyone got any details about Evadale's pitching?
  3. Games at this level will be good ones, but I will take Otown in 3.
  4. Easy killer. maybe youre reading too much into a complement meant for a player. I didn't see any slam to the other great players, including your son. These guys are teammates....no individuals here. Obviously, Carpenter did a phenomenal job Friday night, cuz we won. He hit well and played very well. The McCasland kid is very comfortable with him behind him, I'm sure. I've never heard him say anything but great things about him and the Wright kid. Don't try to create division where there is none. These guys win together, as a team. Period.
  5. Overton was flat. Hiccups, even in warmups? Couldn't hear the guys encouraging each other like normal. What's going on there? Infield didn't seem meshed with any teamlike spirit whatsoever. Probably the worst infield performance yet. Forgetting to tag your base and going for a run down instead? And tackling a teammate for the ball? Something intangible missing? Costly!!!! Let's hope we don't see this again.
  6. I know it's not the team you're talking about. Any intelligent life can recognize that a good leader can make a pretty good team out of even average players. I think we have some pretty good athletes available to us. Playing in the wrong positions...probably. But lack of talented players is not the problem.
  7. Wow. I witnessed a lot of discouraged young men after that game last night. What's it going to take to turn this program around next year?
  8. I still think that if all players are well (not a lot of guys out wiht this flu going around), then Overton should take the win. Has anyone heard whether or not most of the guys are ok?
  9. I have to go with O this time. I'll say by 14. I think things are coming together for the Stangs. If they want it bad enough, the win is theirs. Has anybody got an update on injuries for both teams?
  10. Great game O-line; you sure cam together. :notworthy: Would like to have seen the Rodgers kids with the ball a little more. Im sure it hurt to lose the Darden kid. He's a big asset, but I think Flory is fierce and plays with lots of heart. A whole team like that can't hurt any. Im always impressed with McCausland's KO returns. Maybe ought to give him a look. Seems quick and runs with heart. IMO the teams is coming together. Just sad it's so late in the season. Got some great kids with leadership potential that need to be encouraged. Skipper, Osburn,Moore, McCauslan, Rodgers, Roach, Darden, Flory, and others taking the lead to keep their team believing in the win. Great job. :notworthy:
  11. I say Overton takes this one by a TD.
  12. Man, Why don't we all stop stirring this pot and get on over to the new thread. Just let the attitudes go. This is not helping our guys.
