  1. Heard the last AD (not the one there now) left for a lot of the same reasons, even though he had a ton of talent coming back. School has a lot of the same type of kids that the facility across the street from the school has....at least that is the rumor.
  2. Good game through 5 innings. Tied 3-3 going into sixth. Troup pitching fell apart. Garrison scored 9 runs in the top of the sixth on 2 hits. Rest of the runs came on walks, wild pitches, and hit batters. Sad the way it ended. Was a great game up until that point. Good Luck to Garrison, Central Heights, and Arp.
  3. Confirmed.....supposed to start groundwork the day after graduation. May 22
  4. Troup finishes with West Rusk. Garrison finishes with Woden.
  5. Track is the #1 priority there in the Spring. Not trying to start something here, but as you can see in college and major leagues, young African Americans are not playing baseball right now. A major part of the kids in athletics at Lamarque are African American. Sad but reality.
  6. I agree, Bill Murray should have been called in!!! He could have gotten rid of the Armadillo and used his HYBRID GRASS on the field!!!
  7. Irvin would have them all throw away their irons and learn to play the cut-fade with a 13-wood.
  8. I coached against his dad and when he was a player at Lone Oak. His dad is a fun guy to be around and a great coach. All of the sports were good at Lone Oak when Jim was there. I remember Charlie being a good player and a heck of a competitor. He has been trained well both from his dad and the staff at Sulpher Springs. Good luck to him and Maud.
  9. Hope he learns a little humility somewhere. Pretty arrogant and cocky. Great talent though.
  10. Troup is 1-2. Lost to CH and Arp. Beat Frankston.
  11. Both coaches agreed to this and they are even riding to scout together. No animosity at all. They dont know who they are playing yet, because of the 3-way tie in the other district. I am a coach in 19-AA and listened to Coach Langley and Loper discuss the whole situation. No one got FORCED or did any FORCING!! These two coaches have the utmost respect for one another. You people that dont know what you are talking about need to just be quiet and trust that these two coach are doing what is best for their teams and our district as a whole.
  12. Der'Rikk Thompson from Troup signed with SMU. I will try and send pictures later.
  13. Wow!! Figured Brady would retire in Van. Best of luck coach.
  14. Wow. And those of us in East Texas freak out if we have to drive more than an hour!!!
