The community thinks that because the community wants to be there then obviously everyone wants to be there.

They also think you can just go out and pluck coaches from anywhere

Yea.. crazy in some cases.. see who ends up getting this one.

I’ve never lived there, but the rumor is there are things in place community and school wise that will prevent a solid coach from going things going.

Intresting. Wonder why places get thia way?

    • Alignments for football, basketball, and volleyball have been released. Alignments for all other events will be released on the UIL website in the spring of 2024.

Do you remember when these came out two years ago? is there somewhere to find that ?

But yeah, you're right, and I thought the exact same thing. At the junior high too. When I was in school, York would do that. He would scout the PE classes too. Tried to recruit me a couple times, but I had a bad leg break that kept me from passing a physical.

Yea JH development is where it all starts. Get great JH coaches to develop and implement your system. Help out there so you know what products your getting. 6th grade pre-athletics is a must in teaching technique and instilling sport specific IQ.

I know all that, seeing if there was a more specific date, like the next 2 weeks, or month etc. Just curious how amebic the districts will be. ( it always confuses me when track and baseball, softball are different and then those being different than basketball when all the schools have those sports)

Coming from DeSoto down to Cameron is a big step! The talent pool and participation in Yoemen football has been a little dry the past few years. I hope bringing in Coach Babino from a state championship 6A team will spark some new interest and get more players for 2024. I wish him the best!

Needs to get all males in the school in assembly soon. Talk about his scheme, culture, and his vision of the future. Help Drive kids maybe that got out of athletics to help push numbers back into it. Maybe sway some 1 way athletes to get back to football.  Should be interesting moving forward.

Just saw this is open (on Twitter).

I wonder how many JH assistant coaches at big schools are putting in for this one.

wow.. Could get a lot of interest but do they trust the coordinators to continue the success. IF so post it for 10 days give it to your guy and move on. If not may see more hits than granger. Heard around 300 + there.

So student A goes to a private school that teaches some weird religious curriculum, then the state sends our tax dollars to that private school.  Once the state sends government money to an institution then the state has its foot in the door to tell that private school what to do. Man that’s going to work out well!! Like I said- nobody knows !

Never said Private. This is how it currently works for public schools.  I don't want public money into private sector.   There is no guarantee of acceptance is this is what people fail to realize. They will get however much extra per student they already have.  So lets make the math easy 8000K per student. So the Private school 500 students PK-12 ( yes pre-k is state funded now) That's an extra 4 million in the pot for them to do whatever they want with accepting no new students.  Its not a good thing to do that. Some bills have it where if Student A stays in public school A because its there choice thee school only get the regular student allotment, but is student A goes to private school A or Public School B then they get the whole new amount.  Also you can forgot about any special populations groups being accepted as private does not have to provide special education services, but the closes public school  does even though they are not being paid for that child. I don't like vouchers or the cards. Fund public schools to the best of your ability and you will see huge gains.

But do your tax dollars follow that child? Nobody knows what the voucher system will be like or do,aka Obama care, have to pass it to know what is in it.  Is it a tax credit or education savings account? Hearing both things. Who gets the money- the private school or the parents— BIG difference. If I don’t have kids in school and don’t have a say about “my” money-do I have to keep paying my taxes? All political- educating the child is the farthest thing from his mind.

The school gets paid by number of students enrolled by ADA and WADA. SO if student A goes to School A but transfers to  School B the state pays school B for Student A. Your tax dollars go to the state which is then distributed to the schools.

Hmmmm, had board meeting last night to hire new AD/Head Football.  I'm hearing no action was taken!?!?  Someone back out or board not happy with who supt brought to the table?!?!?!

Interesting. could be that he didn't get everything he wanted or the board wanted someone else.. never know in these closed meeting operations

The number of 3A soccer programs would have to grow under the current UIL playoff set-up.  Looking at the current alignment, I would think that almost every 3A school would automatically make the playoffs in soccer.

if you use 2A schools in the same capacity it could add to those numbers. Tenaha and new Summerfield have soccer. There probably is more around the state. I bet you could make 16 districts with at least 7-8 teams in it.

  13. Right now 3A soccer programs are getting shafted due to no 3A soccer and having to play in 4A districts with no divisions they could play schools 2.6 to 3 times their enrolment. How many more 3A and under need to get soccer before it can be its own classification?

Another question is….. how does it affect cutoff numbers as it ripples down?

Namely for East Texas.  Does Texas High get bumped up to 5A Div I with Tyler? To a lesser degree Nacogdoches could bump up

And would we see some borderline 4A Div I schools get bumped to 5A Div II….. suspects like Pine Tree, Lindale, Kilgore, Sulphur springs…..   we could possibly see TWO 5A Div II districts in East Texas

Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, Marshall, Hallsville, Pine Tree, Whitehouse, Jacksonville, Lindale, Kilgore, Nacogdoches… that’s 11 teams.  12 of Texas High doesn’t bump up.  Definitely leads to 2 etx districts.

    Interesting stuff.

Its very possible. If they are 30-50 schools from the current number then when 7A happens (90% certain in 2026-2028) you are likely to move up. Just doing the pure numbers excluding new schools and where they land.

Word is sup is taking his time for some reason? But from what I have been told no calls have been made but usually means they have a guy trying to see if he takes it or not before the interview a bunch of people.

Got it.. We will see then.

When they add 7A, will that mean they can get rid of divisions in football for 6A and down?

Or will they continue the trend and add D3 for each classification? Lol

There is not enough schools to do D3 for each classification and 7A. I see 7A first and no divisions until playoffs for 6A and 7A. Just for travel issues.

  17. With Stepp's tweet on realignment with 7A, I looked at the numbers in football only. So here we go.  For bare minimum of 32- 5 team districts in 7A means 160 teams. So take the top 160 schools from 6A so 247-160= 87. For 6A-2A I wanted 6 team districts so at 2 divisions means 2 x 16 x 6= 192 teams. So 87 teams left in 6A pull up the 105 from 5A to get the 192. This leaves 145 teams in 5A meaning I need 47 to pull up from 4A to get the 192. After that pull up we have 153 left in 4A meaning I pull up the next 39 from 3A to get the 192. This leaves 162 Teams in in 3A pull the next 30 from 2A to get the 192. this leave 176 total in 2A. That's only 16 schools from having a legitimate sustainable 7A. If you bring 7A to 150 then its only 6 school. IT is very close to becoming a reality.
