  1. Can you have an embarrassing schedule when you haven't won a game in over 2 years????
  2. Government regulations abound in the energy sector. Let’s not add anymore. The market will take care of preparation. Those companies know how much money they lost by being down during that storm and are taking steps to get it better. Government regulations and fines will just drive up energy costs which will disproportionally effect poor people. No need for that.
  3. We've stopped addressing mental illness because to tell someone they have a mental illness is mean. Instead we just accept any and every fantasy that comes out of someone's mind as fact because to tell them otherwise is to be a bigot.
  4. I thought they burned all copies, shot the author, and bankrupted the publisher...
  5. OR maybe one of the hundreds of miracle drugs from the pharmaceutical companies that they had to pull off the shelves? Or the ones that they advertise lawsuits for all day long on TV? Or the ones they had to pay huge fines to the government for misadvertising?
  6. So because 8th graders can access things that are not good for them or kids swear at school, we shouldn't worry about what we put before them to read?! They can have sex too, should we show them pornos? They can find nudes on their phone, should we have sexual predators sending them pics and asking for returns? Your argument there makes no sense. They can find drugs, should the teachers sell them? Teach history as it happened, but you have to age appropriate things. That shouldn't even be a question. We believe whole-heartedly that the world needs to know what happened under Hitler, and WHY! Apparently some people on TV don't even believe it was because of race. The holocaust is a great tragedy, just like slavery, and should be taught as such. That can be done without vulgar language until the children get older.
  7. 12.9% of the US is black women???? News to me... So the Indian being a lower percentage eliminates that as a possibility? What's the cutoff? To be clear, I have no issues at all with a black woman on the supreme court. Have at it. If she is qualified and loves the constitution, put her up there. However, basically eliminating most of the candidates based on race and gender is wrong. I know the counter argument will be, "It was done to minorities for years." That doesn't make it right now. And you could have placed a black woman on the supreme court without coming out and saying that was the qualification needed. It would have been better for everyone involved to just say she was the most qualified for the position....
  8. At least the methane release should eliminate these cold spells in the future, right? There is no magic switch to make natural gas plants and pipelines immune to cold weather. poop happens, no matter how much preparation you put in to it. You are a fool if you actually think these gas companies are willingly allowing their production to stop in the time it is most valuable. There are no garauntees, just like with the other forms of power. Nuclear is the best option, but the left won't even hear of that.
  9. You honestly think these companies don't try to weatherproof their plants? I've worked in oil and gas most of my adult life. We spend big money and lots of time winterizing equipment. Nobody wants to be out there fighting the freezing weather. But we try to keep the gas moving. You have no clue what goes on out there. That storm was a once in a lifetime event for Texas. You want to require a level of weatherproofing to prevent that from happening in a storm we may see once in a hundred years? The cost will be terrible and that will be passed on to the consumer, but you don't care.
  10. I think narrowing it down to a black woman limits your candidates to about 4% of the total population and just narrowing it down to women narrows it down to about 52% of the population. Exactly as I said. Why not an asian woman? an Indian woman? a Mexican woman? He didn't want the black man on the supreme court....
  11. I missed the part in the letter where he told us what his solution was. You must have cut it off when you pasted. I didn't see it. I'm sure he had an answer to the problem, not just pointing out that something we all knew happened actually happened. There was a greater point to the letter, I know. Also, Kelsey Warren wrote Abbott a check because the other side of the political spectrum wants to put him out of business completely...along with the millions of Texans who work in oil and gas...but I guess we can all learn to code...
  12. Some might argue that his stand is worth more than the stand that was taken at the Alamo. In the grand scheme of things, the alamo didn't mean a whole lot. A guy refusing to give up his personal freedoms even though it will cost him his life is kind of a big deal. But you guys don't really care too much for liberty. I mean, you think you do, because this isn't really a big thing. Them demanding you wear a mask or get a shot to participate in life is just a minor inconvenience. The emergency powers that we've handed over to the government will all revert back when we are out of this pandemic. The way they used the pandemic to change election procedures is not a big deal. It's just a vaccine.
  13. Your drinking and driving analogy is false. It's more like two people having the same wreck but one of them is wearing a paper mache helmet....
  14. Who said it was BLM and Antifa? Pretty sure there were some Feds involved, but for the most part it was a crowd that got out of hand. Also pretty sure, most of us said to punish those who committed crimes. Walking through open barricades and touring the capitol building isn't a crime tho.
  15. They are still children, right? So parents should have a say in what they are subjected to. Just like movies, TV Shows, etc. I am not about censorship, but these are still kids. They can and should be told what they can and cannot read. These books for the most part aren't just books with characters who happen to be gay. They are about telling kids how to be gay, why it's awesome to be gay, and that they should be gay. And also way too explicit. Also, wth is a fancyboy?
  16. Why would it only make white people uncomfortable to learn about the atrocities commited in the past. They are no more connected to it than their non-white classmates, seeing as they committed exactly zero of those atrocities. The uncomfortable part comes in when you go past teaching history to telling CHILDREN that they are born as part of the problem. You think the 14 year-old white kid who woke himself up and put himself on the bus because his single mom is working two jobs, that has to eat the school breakfast and lunch because they are poor, has no father in his life, and has to see his mom cry at night because they can't make ends meet needs to be told by you that he's benefitting from white priviledge every day? Teach history all day long, but stop using it as a tool to try and create division between kids who would otherwise not have one.
  17. Carthage needs Gilmer and PG to stay out of their district to field enough non-district games. They are the only 4A schools that will sign up to play them outside of Kilgore.
  18. Hahahaha...and they warned us for 4 years that Trump was easily provoked and was a danger with the nuclear codes...
  19. In my spare time, I'm busy enjoying life. I don't care if you wanna wear a mask while swimming, in your car alone, or making love to your significant other. Just leave me the hell alone.
  20. I think he's closer to 30. He was also hired by his dad, so he was a known commodity to the school and the AD. It was a smart move, no doubt. I think the odds of striking out on hiring a 25 year old head coach are greater than someone who has a 10-20 year old history.
  21. As long as the alignment doesn't change much, I would assume so. But your non-district games can change depending on who moves up and down. I know some schools have a hard time finding teams to play them in pre-district competition.
  22. Be fun coming in a week or two after alignment and trying to make a schedule.
