I still think this game was an anomaly and that Stephenville will make a deep run. I don't really think they are as good as most thought they were to start the year, but they are still a great offense. China Spring is a very good football team from what I have seen. Hard to compare them to last season. They have a legit shot at being state champs though.

I'm starting to rethink the Surratt deal after reading through smoaky. He should win every game. We have more money, more athletes, the best facilities, the best fans, and more coaches when compared to every other school in Texas. I think we could save some money and get another head coach.

Can’t afford or won’t afford?

I think with so many teams making playoffs thus causing there to be more stadiums being used, it makes sense for higher seeds to host 1st round games. Hard to find stadiums these days in the early rounds.

There has to be some talent on the field to win football games, that’s not a question. But if you think Carthage had the most talent every year they won state, you’re crazy. If you look at it, yes there’s been some real talented kids that have played at the next level, but those guys are all over the state. The difference is what Scott and company do with the guys who will never play another down of football when leaving Carthage. Guys who aren’t big, fast, or strong but become key parts of the team. To me that sets apart the great from the elite. 200 wins in 16 season. I don’t care what kids are on the team that’s impressive.

Nobody was whining about moving games. If anything the pro-move crowd were the whiners. “It’s senior night. Nobody wants to do that in the rain.” I’ve been called worse than a jerk. Not sure why you’re so butt-hurt about it.

Are they? Because 99% of them will be accident free tonight. Accidents happen. We don’t schedule our whole lives around weather or we’d never get anything done. People canceled sub-varsity games to live those games like those kids don’t matter. I don’t want to see anyone hurt or anyone have accidents, but y’all are being a little ridiculous trying to make the world accident free.

Freshmen game was very competitive. In all reality, van should have scored two or three td’s. They had a third and goal from the 1 foot line. Lined up in shotgun and the center rolled one back to the 20! Another good drive ended in a fumble. And they were inside the 10 another time.

Man, I miss fountain drinks at games. I’d much rather have them than plastic bottles.

We're hoping things will turn around. We've seen some flashes of brilliance. Think we'll let him have another season to get things turned around.
