  1. That is correct......might be the 2nd best back in their backfield behind Dickerson according to some Rabbit faithful
  2. A big advantage of an indoor facility can be CONDITIONING...getting the legs in shape and the wind in shape......so some coaches will do some of the "football related" work outside to get used to the heat, but go inside for conditioning work where you run more and at the same time be safer.......and the conditioning work doesn't have to be just running sprints---can be receivers running routes/dbs doing coverage work, and lineman working on firing off the ball
  3. Don't know about the first two, but Linwood has not signed. He has only committed to TCU. Linwood plans to sign to play "on or after" signing day in 2012.
  4. Coach Watson that came with Elliott from PG could help the offense just as much as Elliott............guy knows strength training and knows the offensive line
  5. That is the plan..........He was the 2nd string QB last year.........He can throw the ball really well---of course when pressure comes, some guys are better than others, and he hasn't been "the man" yet in tight situations......so it is to be seen if he throws it well during the games........the planned RB taking Shock's place is not as fast as Shock, but a 4.5 guy none the less and built thicker after hitting the weights hard lately
  6. A player and his dad told me---the Pistol(UCLA offense)
  7. Going to be interesting to see how L-K does with a new coach. New coach and the new base offensive formation......Won't be much of a change for the lineman, but the skill position guys on offensive will have to adjust
  8. Not sure.......maybe the move-in lineman who started over in the Shreveport area last year......they do have a couple of sophs with good bloodlines who have grown and gotten stronger since last year
  9. Redwater and Hooks should both have really good offensive backfields.
  10. Dave Campbell TF has it this way.....H.S.----L-K----E.F.----Harl----O.C.----Wask
  11. 4 and 4, but at least one position change is expected, so maybe 3 and 4 at the same position......all started at least 8 of the 13 games in 2010 offense----Linwood, Darty, Marshall, and Dawson defense----Linwood, Darty, Stevens, Tucker I know this is an Atlanta thread, but just answering the question asked
  12. He must think Linwood, Darty, Stevens, and Tucker will all be hurt by district.
  13. I saw him in the playoffs last year when he was a soph. He wasn't "Vince Young" good as a soph. But with him playing in Class 2A Div. 2, he has Vince's characteristics. I understand if you put him at the 5A level, things would be different. Big and tall young man. After about the first 10 yards, he is fast also.
  14. By saying that he tops the list of 2A backs, I know you have seen them all run. How much better is he than the New Boston back, the Paul Pewitt back, and the Linden-Kildare back ? sidenote--- this thread is about Div. 2 in 2A, so I know the New Boston runner would not fit the thread
  15. I heard good things yesterday about Coach Elliott's enthusiasm and his belief in weight room work......Heard the athletes have got much stronger in the last few weeks.....I saw one young football player who has definitely filled out muscle wise since Coach Elliott has taken over Linwood will have his hands on the ball on every snap, with 2 other speedsters in the backfield.....in the games the o line doesn't get dominated, the offense will be just as explosive as last year L-K will probably take a few lumps in non-district, possibly a couple of lopsided losses......but barring injury to key players, I look for game 10 to pit two 4-0 district teams(right now, H.S. is definitely the favorite to go 5-0)
  16. Shock Linwood.....top 5 athlete in East Texas Trey Darty......2 way starter at WR/DB in 2010....6'3" to 6'4" who has gained at least a step in the 40 since football Greg Stevens....good middle linebacker with 4.5 speed.........may be a/the starting RB depth will be a biggggg problem.........both offensive and defensive lines will be inexperienced and could be a problem........line will be smallish(maybe averaging less than 210)
  17. Yesssssssssssss, that is rolling........ 27 years ago Roosevelt(Roy Martin) and Texas High(Roddie Haley) rolled, with Roosevelt winning in 3:09.14.........hard to believe in 1985 the team from California ran 3:07.40.......takes 4 GREAT athletes and tons of DEDICATION to roll like that
  18. 2A Boys Triple Jump------1) Walker, L-K 49-6 3/4 3) Darty, L-K 4) Ransom, Hughes Springs
  19. There is a fair way to break that tie, but it would have had to be done that day of the finals in that region.....the fair way is to have a "RUN OFF"........with only those 2 allowed to run............or also, as was stated, before the meet, you could let everyone know that a tie in running events will be broken by prelim times.................I am not saying those are the only 2 ways, but that is 2 ways
  20. Last year the district winner won district by 0.01, and that 2nd place finisher finished 8th at regionals. Monday's prelim times to qualify for the finals---10.92, 11.00, 11.13, 11.15, 11.21, 11.23, 11.41, and """11.42""" had a GREAT chance of making it to state both years. wow
  21. 1) Groveton 2) L-K 3) DeKalb 3 runners were DQ'ed, so only 5 finished the race
  22. L-K finished 1-2 in the boys triple jump.
  23. TJC website hasn't posted any results from Whitehouse........Does anyone know if they did anything today or not ????
  24. Thanks........that website is a good one.
