  1. I still say Longview pulls away in the 3rd and 4th. Burleson Centennial after halftime appeared to go back to running that mix direction type of offense that got them beat last time they met. Not to mention, they flat-out-gave up after Aledo's score around the 3rd. I was impressed by Burleson's QB being able to make plays with his legs similar to Aledo's QB that was a game changer in the 1st and 2nd qtr. which made the game competitive. There's no-quit in LGV **checking the weather it say's 70degrees with a 90% chance of Thunderstorms at 2pm WOW!!! I truly believe this plays into Longview's favor... Longview 42 Aledo 21 Maybe I'm dreaming
  2. In the words of Michael Irving on First Take, "Pressuring a QB changes the outcome of game." IMO Aledo's bread and butter is their QB. Nothing is really mentioned about any other talented position, although they have a few weapons. If Longview shut's him down, I promise you, the dynamics of this game will change QUICKLY, and I promise you, Longview's defense is more than capable of doing just that 'applying pressure...' I don't see this game being as close as some speculate---I see Longview pulling away in the 3rd quarter. I don't think Aledo has the stamina to keep up with Longview ALL 4qtrs... Longview by 21
  3. From what I've seen of Aledo, if LGV shuts down Aledo's QB its going to be a very long day for Aledo... GO LOBOS!!!
  4. Hey bro I totally agree with you... King by far is the BEST COACH that has ever touched LGV'S field "Hands Down". What you offer is a critique of what many of us have seen for years. Many won't critique King until we lose, and it breaks their heart lol... Year after year, the Achilles heel of Coach King shows up every time <especially> in small, but big areas like clock management, play calling on 3rd and long, not taking advantage of putting away dangerous teams that sends the right message and a few other things. Critique is what makes you better, but I understand many people can't take an honest critique. We reference John Outlaw due to coaching style, but I'm sure, if asked, many of his loyal followers could tell us the Achilles heel of Outlaw----I only saw one, "The presumed ego of Lufkin, during that time, is what beat Lufkin many times." Notice I said 'presumed' because they played with so much attitude!!! One must admit that attitude, took the heart of many opponents before one ball was snapped! Outlaw knew how to "send a message"! Don't get me wrong, King sends that same message: Yea, they know we gone run the ball, line-up in the I-formation and DARE you to STOP IT over and over again. Every team we've played say the same things about LGV, "They gone pound the ball" so they stack the box, and still can't stop it! I love that attitude/message King continues to send; but everyone needs a little critique...
  5. Addressed to QUICK HEY MAN IMO" PUTTING A TEAM AWAY IS WHAT MADE JOHN OUTLAW/LUFKIN DEADLY!!! When Outlaw coached Lufkin would put you away if the score was 7 to 40plus AND the entire team had his spirit and played with a merciless attitude... Wow! I miss those days... Lufkin hasn't been the same since the passing of Outlaw!!! Rest in Peace Outlaw----LOBOS 4-LIFE
  6. Been watching Mansfield Timberview for what little footage I could find Timberview High School Football - Arlington, TX (nfhsnetwork.com) Takeaways from what I could see: OL impressive size 300-320lbs (They are a run heavy team) even the commentator said, "They like to use their size to push at least 5yds down field giving room for their 5'6" 156lbs running back. The small back is 5"6 and a SR, but the other back is a freshman he's pretty good. They have 2QB's one who runs and the other who passes and is fumble prone lol... Their defense reminds me of Longview's quickness and the upfront size is pretty average at this stage. ***Notes: The OL gets super gassed around the 2nd and 3rd quarters hands on the hip at all times. The way Longview's offense plays, I don't think their defense will last up-front play after play simply because Longview's talent is 2nd level to these guys... The team I watched them play was Frisco Heritage who truly reminded me of watching a team like Hallsville or a North Mesquite... Not to mention I haven't seen one caliber team they've played except the Rebels... Just my opinion guys lol... Longview by 30
  7. I had no clue looking at their schedule that there were so many schools in Frisco... I mean, with the type of schedule they have, they seem to only play in Frisco...
  8. ((OK OK OK I FOUND OUT WHY THEY KEEP SAYING LONGVIEW IS THE BEST TEAM EVER)) COULD THIS BE THE REASON WHY??? Hey guys this is only hype the Lobos aren't really all that good---Please don't read into what a lot of people are saying about the Lobos; just a little old team from a small town who happens to like "Flag-football" oh yea and kickball in the summer...
  9. That's a BEAUTIFUL thing the whole town is coming... Hopefully we can ALL shake hands when the game is over...
  10. I agree Buck... Load the box and keep the LB's at home and let the play come to you. That Flex option can be tricky but yet figured out if you bite every play you could get bit. Slow it down and play the ball. Navy put 9 in the box and a safety over the top (wow)
  11. Longview 56 Spring Westfield 21 Simply because the 2's will be put in 6min left in the 4th
