  1. I have some 7/8th grade girls that want to play in some tournaments. I don't want to join a league because of the cost. I just want to play in a couple of tournaments here and there. Please help me find something or possibly someone that i can get in touch with. Any help is very appreciated. I am.located in northeast Texas. Will travel about 100-150 miles. Thank you in advance.
  2. When I first visited this website I thought...."Cool this is a great to read up on scores and other schools." Now I think this forum is classless... I could not agree more with "Hippymom" about these kids coming on here and reading all of this mess. Today I looked at some other forums and no one is talking like this one. I do not have a kid playing at any school here but I am at everyone of the Hooks home and away games. These kids give it there all every practice and for sure every game. As for the parents...yes there is some trash talking from both sides....but nothing like I have every seen before. Where I come from the schools do no allow any of that to go on and if it does happen the first time the parents are asked to leave and if it continues the parents are not allowed to attend the functions of their children. The kids and the parents have to sign a contract in the beginning of the sport to make sure this #### does not happen.....from any one! Do I think GS out played us??? Yes I do! Do I think they put some good hits together and did what they needed to? Yes I do! But, the Hooks Lady Hornets gave it all they had every inning of every game this season. I do not feel anything needs to be taken away from that.....from any one!!! CARLEN, TORI, SUTTON, MORGAN, SYDNEY, KELSI, RACHEAL, BREE, CHANDLER, RACHEL, COURTNEY AND ALLYSON YOU HAD AN AWESOME SEASON AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HANG YOUR HEAD ABOUT!!!! [/center]Nobody comes on here and talks about all the awesome plays or the great defense....ever... all everyone lately talks about is each other. Lets come out from behind the "screen name" and show face then lets see who talks how much trash is talked!!!
  3. I know Grand Saline beat Hooks last year in the Regional Semi's but Hooks is very strong this year. They only lost 2 seniors but had a couple step up and play this year that did not play last year. They are very strong with 7/8 junior starters. Just depends on who is pitching. I think there will be another matchup with these two teams and i can not wait to see how it plays out.
  4. I am looking for a high school exposure tournament. I have a couple of seniors that I would like for some coaches to see. Thanks
  5. Hooks 11-1 Rivercrest 11-1 Prairiland 6-6 Dekalb 6-6 District Championship game tonight at Rivercrest.
  6. where is cross roads? by denton?
  7. i am a coach at a small school. i tell my kids that they should look at aoftball/athletics like a job. they have to call me or text me if they are not going to be there. if they dont then they have make-up running to do. usually like 10-12 foul poles. Then depending on what we did they will have to field or hit some to make-up the actual workout. If they let me know they are not going to be there in penty of time, ie..the day before or earlier, then they will just make up either the hitting or fielding. If they miss for school related activites then there is no punishment at all. I have kids late everyday because of tutorials and track. I dont punish them for that at all.
  8. I am a small town high school softball coach. I would love to see jh softball but I am not giving up my field for a jh practice. So there lies another problem of practice places. I also dont want to give up my field for Monday night jh games. I do think softball gets the shaft at small schools because of the girls choosing to play softball and not running track. My girls have to go through off season before they come to sb practice, even though we are in the middle of our season. bigger schools have softball off season programs, just like they have for basketball and volleyball. So i think if it passes, way to go Maud and maybe other schools around this area will follow suit. But if it doesn't, all is well. Having played softball my entire life, select ball is the best route to go. I played league ball and high school softball but the competition was in traveling. If not for summer ball I would have never gotten the exposure needed for the scholarship that I earned. College coaches dont have time to scout high school softball because they are in their seasons also. The college coaches come to summer ball tournaments.
