  1. Teague’s three losses to # 6 Westwood, # 11 Tolar( 3A D 2 ) and Fairfield are a combined 15 points and all went down to the final seconds. I look for Teague to win this game and throw the race for second in a three way tie.
  2. Westwood has captured the District Championship but Fairfield,Diboll and Teague are fighting for the other three spots. Crockett can still have a say with a win over Fairfield. Teague needs to beat Diboll and if Fairfield beats Crockett it a three way tie. Now it comes down to the point system to determine the seeding. Congratulations to Westwood on their District Championship. Glad to see Coach Glen Tunstall taking over, good luck Coach.
  3. Actually Teague had just had a TD pass called back right before it happened
  4. There is no doubt that Westwood is a very talented team but that kind of lingo is uncalled for especially someone representing Westwood. It makes outsiders think “ what the heck is going on over there “?
  5. Then a Westwood board member posts this quote on social media: They better have CPS on standby the next two weeks, it’s going to look like child abuse out there. After all that went down today …. SMH
  6. Football is a team sport so yes the FF and Teague programs were going to be at a disadvantage if the scheme by the Westwood program had worked. So to me it’s actually program vs program and the program doing the cheating has to take and accept responsibility and consequences.
  7. These allegations, charges, behavior despite whatever your stance is on the situation breaks the code of ethics that Coaches have. Now the DEC has made a ruling and IMO if the UIL doesn’t back them they are opening a can of worms in the future that there is no repercussions if caught violating this rule.
  8. Supposedly the Westwood hearing is at 1115 , it’s the last hearing. Also heard it is being streamed.
  9. Why would a team play a game they have already been declared the winner. Take a chance on injuries, ejections, etc. especially this late in the season. There is definitely going to be bad feelings one way or the other. JMO
  10. Integrity is a personality trait that means being honest, having strong moral principles, and consistently living by those values:
  11. 'Play stupid games, win stupid prizes , if you are going to willfully and knowingly do something stupid, illegal, or out of regulations, you need to be prepared to accept the consequences.
  12. You would think if he wanted to show her some video, he would have sent her some Westwood videos.
  13. This is from Fairfield Recorder, draw your own conclusions. District 9-3A school superintendents met in an Executive Committee meeting Monday, Oct. 21 to discuss the alleged violation of Westwood ISD coaches and district personal videotaping/filming/recording district opponents of an athletics contest (varsity football) without the prior consent of the schools competing in the contest. When all was said and done, Diboll Superintendent Brian Bowman, Huntington Superintendent David Flowers, and Crockett Superintendent Dr. Douglas Moore recommended the suspension of Westwood ISD Technology Assistant Don McCoy from all District 9-3A athletic events and the suspension of Westwood High School Director of Athletics/Head Football Coach Richard Bishop for the remainder of the football season as well as postseason. Both of these suspensions will have to go to the UIL State Executive Committee for approval. The committee also voted Westwood would have to forfeit all District 9-3A football games for this season. Westwood ISD Superintendent Wade Stanford noted the school would be filing an appeal on the forfeits. Teague ISD Superintendent Chris Skinner and Fairfield ISD Superintendent Joe Craig were also in attendance for the meeting and spoke throughout. They could not vote on the recommendation because their teams were involved. When making the decisions, Skinner said, “We have to keep the best interest of the students in all districts in mind, not just those at Westwood.” Bowman led the meeting. Stanford, Bishop, McCoy and Glen Tunstall told what occurred during the Fairfield and Teague football game on Friday night, Oct. 11. Westwood had moved their game that week to Thursday night, but none of the other schools had been notified. Bishop and McCoy attended the game and sat on the home side at the 50-yard-line. McCoy, who is not a coach, but works for the district, took videos on his camera as well as Snapchat. Skinner called Stanford at 8:04 p.m. on Oct. 11 to notify him of coaches filming signals on the sidelines and plays. Stanford immediately called Bishop. During halftime, which is when Stanford called Bishop, Bishop told McCoy to delete any videos he had on his phone. McCoy admitted he was filming the sidelines and the plays. He stated he was taking the videos to send to a girl in Virgina. Bishop, who was sitting next to McCoy, said he didn’t know McCoy was taking videos. Fairfield Coaches Tyler Terry, Aaron Allen and Shawn Welch, who were in the pressbox, told what they witnessed during the game. They also videoed McCoy filming the sidelines and the plays with Bishop sitting next to him. McCoy said he videoed most of the first and second quarters of the game until he was told not to at halftime. He admitted to taking videos on both his camera as well as Snapchat. “I was capturing almost every play until I got something good,” McCoy said. “I was trying to get some good footage to send her to show her what Texas football is all about.” Craig then showed the videos the Fairfield coaches took from the pressbox of McCoy filming. His phone is turned sideways and can be seen zooming into the sideline and then zooming out to get the play. When asked what he thought after seeing the videos, Bishop said, “It's less than ideal. It isn’t a good look. I would never tell someone to film, especially since we were sitting in the center on the 50-yard-line.” Fairfield Head Football Coach John Bachtel noted Fairfield and Teague are now having to change all of their signals. “We all know we can’t be videoing other teams. Videoing our staff is just wrong,” Bachtel said. “That is what hurts me the most. Don’t be sitting right there next to him while he is videoing. It’s the ethics of it.” Bowman, Flowers, and Moore went into executive session at 11:53 a.m. before returning at 12:19 p.m. to discuss what actions should be taken. Bishop has been coaching for 17 years. Westwood is currently undefeated and has a 7-0 overall record with just three district games remaining against Teague, Fairfield and Huntington.
  14. I would think not. The other teams would be risking injuries and the threat of retaliation by getting their kids ejected.
  15. An interesting matchup to say the least but the Coaches at Tolar have Teague ties. Tolar played for the State Championship last year in 2A D1 against Timpson but moved up this year to 3A D 2.
  16. Improved tremendously from the first scrimmage to the second one.
  17. I’m hearing the same thing about New Waverly. Also hear the school is growing by leaps and bounds.
  18. So So. Having some younger guys filling some holes on the lines but should be ok as the season goes.
  19. Teague travels to New Waverly in the season opener for both teams.
  20. New Waverly and Teague is not in Malakoff district. But no they not in Malakoff league but not many D1 3A are. I think Malakoff will repeat.
  21. How does telling who Teague is scrimmaging come across to you as confident ? Yes, I’m confident that Teague will be scrimmaging Hillsboro and Scurry.
  22. Definitely changes the things at Westwood and IMO puts Westwood as the favorite to win the district.
  23. Teague has Hillsboro and Scurry
  24. Huntington big girl was nightmare mismatch for Fairfield. FF missed a lot of those shots because of her presence in the middle. I really think if the two teams played again that FF would win but Huntington won on that particular night and deserved to win. IMO FF was the best overall team in the Region but the best team doesn’t always win or advance.
