99, he doesn’t get it about being balanced. Lots of difference in play action passes when your ahead rather a passing game when your behind. It’s happened to them the last three years. Once they fell behind they didn’t have the ability to throw the ball to come back. With that said can Franklin win Region 3 - Absolutely. Their defense is much, much better and IF they can stay ahead of the chains and grind it out and using clock. Your D has to play assignment football and be disciplined.

Teague, West and Grandview are in a three way tie for first. Grandview beat Teague but lost to West. If West wins :,West # 1 seed, Grandview #2 and Teague #3, the 4 seed would be the Groesbeck and Whitney winner. If Teague wins : Grandview # 1, Teague # 2 and West either # 3 or # 4 depending on the Whitney vs Groesbeck game. If Whitney wins West drops to #4 in the second scenario but a Whitney loss eliminates them from the playoff picture and that leaves West at 3 and Groesbeck at 4. Two big games still left. Grandview plays Maypearl in the other district game so they should be big in that one..

There is a four way tie in D9 3A with Grandview, Teague, West and Whitney with two games to play. Should clear up some after Friday as Whitney and Grandview play each other. Teague plays Maypearl and West is off. Teague is st West in the last game of the regular season. I believe all four teams could be the 1,2,3 or 4th seeds in this crazy scenario.

District 9 3A D1 has a four way for first with two weeks to go. Grandview, Teague, West and Whitney are all tied with one loss a piece. Stay tuned

Dang Coach, what a testament to his life here on earth. I would have liked to have known Mike for sure. Lot of Love in all those pictures but the one with him praying with his son before eating did me in. The Lord must have needed him in Heaven. Continued prayers for Mike’s family and the Malakoff community.

They have good looking kids from jr high on up. Not sure but I think they played a relatively weak non District schedule.

Whitney is actually playing defense this year under their new Coach Byrd unlike their previous coach. They have some confidence after beating West.

I’ll take Yoe09 poll over most of these. No disrespect to Rockdale because they have a great program and Coach Miller but I agree with Yoe 88 they were not the number 1 team in 3A D1.

Yoe09, this race could go several different ways but it appears that Grandview, West, Whitney and Teague have the inside track at the four spots. IMO Groesbeck and McGregor playing soft non District schedules did them in against the competition of this District. Franklin is my pick to win Region 3.

Teague lost 20 plus Srs. They played a brutal non District schedule ( Malakoff, Mexia, Lorena and Hempstead ) and then started District with Grandview. Their biggest weakness coming in was their O and D lines. Injuries with little depth set them back on the offense side. They have yet to start the same 5 on the offensive side of the ball this season. Yet through all this Coach Osborn has put his team right in the middle of the District race.The Lions travel to Whitney to play the leader in District 9 3A Friday night. The Lions have slowly started to get their swagger back and hopefully they can beat Whitney and Maypearl to set up a season ending showdown in West. I still think Grandview is the best team in the District.
