    LOL!! That's funny.

With respect to names, when the Tomato Bowl bond issue passed in 2017 and it was renovated, the JISD asked everyone in the media to stop calling it The Tomato Bowl . . . it is now Historic Tomato Bowl . . . not THE Historic Tomato Bowl, or THE Tomato Bowl . . . it is now, "Welcome to Historic Tomato Bowl!"

    Just for the record . . .

What has happened to the Tomatoes themselves...have not had a good one for two years...now carry on...

They will definitely be ranked in the Top 10! probably 5th or 6. The only losses are to the two likely State Champions in Argyle and Carthage and in the last seconds to two top 5 teams Gilmer and Caddo Mills. Considering all the adversity they faced this season Id say that is a heck of a record and yes they are still a very good football team

Rankings don't mean squat...size don't matter...it's the way you swing the big stick

PG has a good football squad.  But if you hang your hat on one player to make it all the way, I just don't think you make it all the way.  PG was trying to outcoach Caddo Mills and it was a great battle between the two head coaches. In my opinion, and I agree that my opinion and a couple of bucks will not buy you a cup of coffee, but in my opinion the team that goes to the Big Show, is the well rounded team from top to bottom.  Not one great player, but several good players, like at least 8 or 9 on both sides of the ball. If one very good player goes down, then the rest take up that slack. PG was gassed at the end of the game against Caddo Mills.  If the Caddo Mills QB does not get past that one player, the game is over.  He then dodged and darted past three other PG players to score. It was a very athletic run by Townley, the QB, but he was able to spread the defense that was anticipating the pass.  And PG does not need to hang their head, they played a very good football team and believe me, PG will be back next year and they will return a great team.

very good team...they need to start looking for some fresh meat...Bux are hungry

Listen to this one.......I went to NFHS late(or early this morning) to watch the ON DEMAND Lindale/Needville game.  They had it listed, but when I clicked it on, it ended up being last season's Lampasas/Needville game at UTSA, LOL.   So then I saw the Midlothian Heritage vs Midlothian Heritage game......I clicked it on to watch Paris in that game.  It was the right tape, but the shutter speed was too fast and it started with already 3 mins. expired.  Each play looked like Comedy Capers in slow motion, but waaay too fast for the correct speed.  Even the announcing was sped up......and the lighting was glaring and shadowy.  Obviously, the people they have running the livestreams on these games are amateurs and worse.  Maybe they are football announcers that have no idea how to set the electronics properly.  What they need is a camera guy and then a good announcer(s).......not both in the same.

I have never called a game in my life.......but beleive me.......I  would be a pro compared to these numbskulls.  That's where they get the term......a numb skull......or dead in the brain ying yang.

i quit trying...I have not talked to anyone that is happy with them...not a pleasant experience.

Graham is a very good team.  Gilmer is between a very good and a great team.  Carthage is a great team.  Gilmer should win the game against Graham, but must limit mistakes and continue to limit backbreaking penalties.  The Bucks seem to have gotten better as the season progressed.  Keep it rolling Buckeyes and don't get to looking beyond this week.

Bux are improving every week as a team...they seem to be reading each other...Caddo had no answer...not seeing Graham stopping them

This game should be “Cardiac Football” like I have been wanting to see all year;  4A Div 2 does not have the level of competition worthy of Surratt’s Dawgs who are just now starting to be challenged.

    BS!!

The Foxes seem to be the trendy pick. I understand that, but I can see very little compelling evidence to pick them outside of a feeling. I think they are pretty evenly matched, but common opponents point to Gilmer as the better team. The wins over Canton and Sunnyvale were much more convincing. They both played PG the same, but I think that has little bearing on this game, because neither offense is like PG. I like Gilmer in a close game.

    Gilmer does close very well.

    A couple of quick observations:

    1. Great game, but Gilmer has to be the team coming away with all the confidence. Lost the turnover battle, gave up a TD right before half after an awful roughing the passer penalty,  and still won the game. If they can clean up the mistakes I’d have to give them an edge in the rematch.
    2. 2nd half showed why Tennison is so special. He made some great passes, but the key was his legs. When he’s on the edge with a run - pass option, he’s incredibly dangerous.
    3. PG freshman is crazy good, maybe the 2nd or 3rd best player on offense. I remember the PG junior high coach actually warning the Gilmer coaches about him in 7th grade. He has Clear D1 potential if he continues to develop
    4. Dylan Fluellen.  Enough said.

    5. Gilmer’s defense made great 2nd half adjustments. The Dline played great, and almost all of the kids are underclassmen. Really great game from Gilmer D.

overall, a great game and a lot of fun to watch.

And just think...BT has another year on his contract and Baby Tennison will be a freshman & fast as a speeding bullet

It was just an awesome game to watch. They never gave up and played hard all night. So glad they were able to walk away with the W. I was glad to see our O Line hold up long enough to make some plays open up. Good Perfect Effort put in by the Buckeyes on both sides of the ball. A little more polishing in the playoffs and they will even be more deadly.

Smash-Mouth Football at its best. A lot of fun to see.

  10. Hadn't see anyone mention:

I know it was week one, everyone is on edge...still, I normally don't mention refs...it is what it is...crew that was to work Thursday was committed to Friday...crew literally had never worked together...didn't know each other... I take it back...great job refs...appreciate y'all for making it happen.

It was great to be on the field with the cubs...I have missed them. We go way back, 1929 was a 77-0 L for the cubs. 2014 is in my top 10 HS ball games. Bet that one still smarts...Great to see 'ya & there is always next year for your annual spanking.

The Bears did show up and looked better than I thought you would. I say that you will take your district & continue.
