  1. Overton in 2. Go Mustangs!!
  2. Now I know what it feels like to be misread. You have absolutely NO reason to defend Williamson to me. I already said, he is an incredible ball player. I completely agree that once he settled down, he handled things better than probably most adults. That is due to excellent parenting. I don't know why everyone is making out like I am attacking Williamson. That was not the intent of the post. I just read TyCobbs post and I tried to think of how I would feel if I were a sub on the Mustang team and read that. It just didn't set well with me. It was in no way a slam at Garrett. It was simply an attempt to show Dusty that he can think that, he can tell Garrett that, but I'm not sure that posting it where every member of the Mustang Baseball Team can read it was the smartest move? Apparently I am the only one who feels that way. I guess Mustang Fans who don't have kids on the team should keep their opinions to themselves. I guess maybe the parents have that bond as well.
  3. Maybe I overreacted. I don't even have a kid on that team. I am simply a fan who attended Overton all of my life. It just really struck me the wrong way when I read TyCobbs post. Apparently I am the one who took it the wrong way. I went to the games against Cross Roads and I can't imagine what that kid who replaced Williamson would feel like if he read TyCobbs post? Like I said, I was not trying to take anything from Garrett. He does a phenomenal job on first. No one can deny him that. And I agree that he is a true leader of the team. He is top notch. My comment was simply defending the other boys who will be attempting to fill Williamson's shoes when he graduates. Next year will be tough enough losing 8 of the 9 starters. I just didn't feel like they needed to get on here and read a post like TyCobbs post which would make them feel less than worthy. I agree 100% that Williamson took full responsibility for his flare up on Thursday. And I commend him for that. And his father as well. I just think people should think before they write on here because those kids read these posts. They ALL need to feel important and worthy. I am in no way trying to create division...if anything, I am trying to keep those who don't get to play feeling like they can be trusted if they are brought onto the field for any reason. Can you imagine being one of those kids who sits in the dugout, supporting the team every game, being brought onto the field and feeling like their teammates don't have any confidence in them? That was my point. I believe those starting 9 deserve their spots. They are phenomenal together, but our bench is deep. We have alot of talented boys in that dugout that can fill spots. I think the boys totally trust one another. Maybe we should leave the posting to them!
  4. I think you should have gone to bed Dusty. What a slam to any other kid playing first base. I'm sure you are just trying to make a statement because Williamson was pulled from first with his "temper tantrum" on Thursday. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am not taking anything from Garrett...he is an excellent first baseman...but what do you think the other kids who play first will feel like when they see how you "truly" feel about their ability? Guess Austin is going to be really uncomfortable the next couple of years on the mound...apparently you feel like NO ONE can measure up on first...as I remember it, we won that game Friday...even after Garrett was pulled??? Good thing Austin didn't have to pitch...
  5. I guess like everything else, time will tell.
  6. Coach Jackson walked into a gold mine with the starting of the Overton baseball program when he did. These boys are full of talent from years of little league. It doesn't hurt that all of the daddys that everyone keeps talking #### about, ie. "Daddyville", had these boys playing baseball together since they were 4 and 5 years old. They are awesome! Full of talent! I give the baseball success at Overton to all of the dads who have put so much of thier own blood, sweat, and tears into making those boys the athletes they are today. I feel confident those dads could get on the field and take those boys to state! Give credit where credit is due!
  7. Something I feel is important is that the two of the three voting against him have no vested interest for their own kids. The third one against him has a daughter who is a cheerleader. Three of the four that voted for him do have children in the athletic program. The fourth one has a granddaughter who is a great athlete as well.
