If the Garrison team that played Arp two weeks ago shows up, Garrison has a good chance of winning. If the Garrison team that played Elkhart shows up, WR will win by a good margin. :w00t:

Official Thread: U.I.L. Snap-Shot Enrollment Day Information

Ouch! ... That means they have a good chance of moving back up to 2A. Not good, since they have been getting drubbed in 1A. :w00t: -
Garrison came out flat and looked like they were just going through the motions. They looked like a totally different team than the one that put up a good fight against Arp. I don't understand why they don't throw the ball more on 1st or 2nd down to take the pressure off their running game, or run some misdirection plays to keep the defense honest. This game should not have been anywhere near this close. The dogs will have to step it up next week if they are going to give WR a decent game.

If this fool is reelected, there is no hope for America. I will have lost all faith in the American people! :ugh:

Cooper from Arp is by far the best I've seen this year.

I don't think the goalie even knew what happened.

Shockingly, Obama fails to win Nobel prize in economics
KirtFalcon replied to KirtFalcon's topic in Political Arena
ESPN and others have been amazed at his athletic prowess since bursting onto the scene. I heard he is a lock for the Heisman even though he only plays "pick-up" round ball. :w00t: -
Currently Illinois has 1A through 8A classifications. I don't remember that many classification back in the early 90s when my son played there. I thought 6A was the highest classification. Back then, the better 5A level schools in Illinois were probably equivalent talent wise to the top level 2A or 3A schools in Texas in my opinion. Anyway, not punting deep in their own territory got them beat in the big game!

No. 3 Texas vs. No. 20 Oklahoma

Texas wins ... if they get off to a good start in the first half. Texas 34 OU 24 -
I think it depends on two things. How good is your defense compared to the other team's offense and How deep are you in your own territory if you fail to make a first down. My oldest son played on a 5A team in Illinois that made it to the state finals. The team they played for the state championship was probably a touchdown underdog. My son's coach had basically the same philosophy of not punting, even deep in his own territory. They also never fielded punts. Those two things cost them the state championship in my opinion. They turned the ball over 3 times on downs inside their own 20 and each time the other team scored a touchdown. They also lost probably a 100 yards in field position by not fielding the punts from the other team. They lost to a team they dominated statistically. The final score was 28 to 24. I believe they would have won by at least two TDs had they punted the ball on those three drives inside their own 20 and fielded some of the punts they let roll because they were not confident enough to field in the air.

Shockingly, Obama fails to win Nobel prize in economics
KirtFalcon posted a topic in Political Arena
By MarketWatch LONDON (MarketWatch) -- In a decision as shocking as Friday's surprise peace prize win, President Obama failed to win the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences Monday. While few observers think Obama has done anything for world peace in the nearly nine months he's been in office, the same clearly can't be said for economics. The president has worked tirelessly since even before his inauguration to wrest control of the U.S. economy from failed free markets, and the evil CEOs who profit from them, and to turn it over to wise, fair and benevolent bureaucrats. From his $787 billion stimulus package, to the cap-and-trade bill, to the seizures of General Motors and Chrysler, to the undead health-care "reform" act, Obama has dominated the U.S., and therefore the global, economy as few figures have in recent years. Yet the Nobel panel chose instead to award the prize to two obscure academics -- Elinor Ostrom and Oliver Williamson -- one noted for her work on managing collective resources, and the other for his work on transaction costs. See full story on the Nobel winners. Other surprise losers include celebrity noneconomist and filmmaker Michael Moore; U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner; and Larry Summers, head of the U.S. national economic council. It is unclear whether the president will now refuse his peace prize in protest against the obvious slight to his real achievements this year. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/obama-fai...mics-2009-10-12 -
I was told Friday night that Garrison was at 197.

USC shouldn't be in the top 10.
-
I can live with VT, Bama being in the top 5, even ahead of Texas. The team that drives me up the wall is USC moving up after a bye and playing a weak schedule and losing to an unranked team!!!!

If JJ would just be the owner and not the GM, head scout and coach ... I would love him too! He might as well get it over with and go down on the sidelines and get a headset!
-
Heavy handed owners like JJ and Al Davis who meddle with EVERYTHING going on with the team never seem to understand the true problems of their franchise because they seem to be looking at many other issues with running the team and the bottom line financially. I think it makes it that much harder to concentrate on football. When they turn out to be wrong or have made bad choices with personnel decisions, there is no one else to turn to ... they can't fire themselves, or can they?
-
I just don't see this team ... players, coaches and owner turning it around with the current players and coaching staff in place. There needs to be some big time changes for the Cowboys to get back to winning playoff games, much less to the Super Bowl.
-
It doesn't matter if they get rid of Phillips or not, Jerry would just install another spineless "yes man" as head coach. J Jones needs to become a passive owner and hire a true GM who will get a real head coach to run the team. Problem is, it ain't gonna happen! I would make another team a package deal with Romo, Jason Garrett and throw Phillips in to sweeten the deal! :w00t:
-
Some of them are already there. If they were "out" and allowed to stay, it would create huge problems.
-
There are a lot of them already serving. They want acceptance and confirmation of their lifestyle without risking their status and careers.
-
They are better than their win loss record for sure. They dominated Alto everywhere except the scoreboard. If you look at the stats for that game, you would have thought Garrison would have won the game by two or three TDs, but turnovers have hurt them. I agree with you about their defense. That said, I still believe they are better than some teams in Smoaky's top 10.
-
I wonder how much influence being awarded the Nobel Appeasement Prize for Liberals will affect Obama's decision to support our troops and generals in Afghanistan. How can he possibly send more troops to war after being bestowed with this "prize"?

A lot of people who saw Garrison and Arp Friday night would argue that Garrison probably should have moved up a spot or two after their effort, instead of dropping. Wins and losses don't always tell the true story. Garrison played a heck of a game on the road against a very tough Arp team. I would venture to say that at least a couple of the teams you have ranked ahead of Garrison wouldn't have fared so well against Arp.
