How often do you play in the fall?

Lack of budget, lack of support, and lack of interest in baseball from my viewpoint.....this is very frustrating, especially when you have kids wanting to give their heart to the game and be all they can be!!! :coolball:

Not sure where either of those guys winded up. Last year Reed was mainly in the class room, but have not seen him in a while. Are you by chance a coach at crockett?

What is your specialty area? New AD at Palestine Westwood will be putting his staff together......Westwood really needs a good baseball coach. By the way folks having to type Palestine Westwood is such a bummer......it's simply "Westwood"!!

From Palestine Herald Press: The Westwood Independent School District's Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Bryan Price as Westwood High School's new athletic director and head football coach during a special meeting Monday night. The 38-year-old Price comes to Westwood from Class 5A Deer Park High School where he served as quarterbacks coach last season. Prior to that he served as athletic director and head football coach for two seasons at Class 3A Commerce High School.......(see rest of article in Smoaky section of forum, at top)

I totally agree.....also they need administration support and commitment from them to hire a maintain a good baseball coach, THEN give him some help, support and a budget.

They had the right guy in my opinion and decided not to renew contract......young team got better every game; could have given program a chance to be very competitive in a year or two.

Most Cayuga, Westwood, Elkhart, and Palestine players played for the same local youth league. In fact most of the kids played together or against each other most of their younger days. Some are even playing select ball together.....I think the answer is summer programs and school support.

players or coaches...haha. They had a couple good coaches including this year's but can't seem to keep them......players, well Westwood is a very young team.....maybe central heights can send some... :thumbsup:

One thing WISD needs to work on is stabilizing the program; can't do that with little to no budget for baseball and the most important is maintaining a baseball coach. This next year will be the 5th coach in six years.....they had a talented coach this year with little to no help and they didn't renew contract.... :coolball:

Can Westwood ever develope baseball program thats quality, productive, prideful, and worthy of attention? My hats off to programs such as Athens, Brownsboro, Elkhart, Cayuga and Crockett.....
