  3. Very well said, one reason why we used to have a stringent "no rumors/speculation" on coaching being fired, reassigned, resigning without giving me a second to double-check. But, members were still circumventing the rules so I told the mods/admins to let it go full-throttle wide open. I can get a response from basically any coach in Texas with a text and confirm and get clarification.
  4. Here is the Week 17 and final podcast for the 2022 football season and we hit state championship week. I was able to feature four schools playing this week including Vandegrift, Carthage, China Spring and Mart. I give a summary of the semifinal victories and some stats, graphics on the state championship attendance records. Plus, a thorough look into every game this week from Class 1-A (Six-Man) to Class 6-A and the picks from Jerry Forrest at PigskinPrep.com. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESX8FQ2poyw
  5. Chris Edwards told me this morning he accepted and approved an exit agreement agreed upon by both parties and his last day with Hughes Springs ISD will be on January 30th. Smoaky
  6. I put up a separate thread pinned at the top of the forums, but I'll post it here too. Jeff Riordan isn't leaving Chapel Hill for Tyler High.
  7. Jeff Riordan sent me the text below to end any speculation he is headed to Tyler High.

  18. Do you know what I wish Mr. Plake, that the stats would've been sent to me. I'm sorry, but with covering 250+ schools in two regions I'm not digging through box scores or summaries throughout the weekend. Secondly, sir, we have a thread every single week for nominations to be entered by members---including you. So, you're welcome for Dylan being listed in the first place because I noticed a tweet from someone who covers DeKaney...too bad it wasn't from someone who works at Harker Heights. You're going to send that to me over 9-yards and a TD? Really? Too bad you handled this way in a pretty crappy response to my list that INCLUDED your son...and again, you're welcome.

  23. Sources have told me Hughes Springs I.S.D. wants to reassign Chris Edwards, who has been coaching in the district for 25-years and the last 16-years as the head coach. I've learned Edwards was informed last week the school district doesn't want him to be the athletic director or head football coach going forward. Edwards has taken the Mustangs to the state playoffs in 15 of his 16 years as the head coach, missing the playoffs his third year in Hughes Springs (2009). Edwards is 108-71 overall as the head coach at Hughes Springs including 3-8 this season. I once had an East Texas football coach tell me how respected Coach Edwards was throughout the region and it was well known anyone could contact him for advice in running an athletic department or football program.
