  1. Jefferson RB Williams stats vs W.O. '23- 277 Yards, 5 TDs '22- 231 Yards, 2 TDs '21- 318 Yards, 3 TDs 826 Yards, 10 TD's with 1 season left to go.
  2. Pretty sure the Jefferson QB threw for 300 yards, 5 TD's against them and obviously did not play the whole game.
  3. Would they consider moving the 6 man games to The Star if 7a was put in?
  4. I am pretty sure the original purpose of knee pads were to protect faces and heads from knees before helmets were worn. They were not even really intended to protect knees.
  5. I think for Shiner and Refugio the OL/DL is the difference. We all assume Timpson and SA have the edge on athletes until you go to the state track meet and see Refugio and Shiner medal in the relays nearly every year. Plus Refugio has one of the fastest kids in the state for any classification. Hawley is a little harder to figure out. I think it's a little easier to reach the championship game from their region. They were blown out by Shiner 2 years ago, but looked pretty dominant in every aspect of the game this past year.
  6. They got 4th in the finals of region 2 but had the 5th fastest time in the state.
  7. No you have to be completely indoors so legally they couldn't use it during lightning.
  8. That’s right. They could only play pool play.
  9. #5 is a Freshman. I think all but 1 or 2 of them are.
  10. 1. Lovelady 2. Grapeland 3. Evadale 4. Colmesneil 5. West Hardin 6. Sabine Pass 7. Burkeville
  11. Most people would choose to have someone stay for a long time. I would argue that, for small schools, it is better to have someone be really good for a few years and leave for a bigger school. Small schools are rarely a dream job for quality aspiring head coaches. So get them while you can have them.
  12. I think SS has a shot to win it but I think they are a year away. Starting 2 Juniors and 2 Sophomores should make them a real contender in the future.
  13. Wall and Gunter are also pretty good at the flexbone. Gunter doing to from the gun.
  14. You might be right. But I am biased too and thought there was a second left which is all that mattered since Waskom was offsides so the ball didn't have to actually be spike in time. The most sickening part about the whole thing is how easily y'all handled Newton the next week. What a great run the kid had on your last touchdown, broke 8 tackles from some really good football players.
  15. Should Sonora have had 1 more play from the 1 yard line?
  16. Or are they allowing a coach that has one multiple state championships and made regular deep runs in the playoffs choose the replacement?
  17. 1. Yoe 2. Mineola 3. Wall 4. East Chambers 5. Kirbyville
  18. 2013- Cisco 2012- East Bernard 2011- Refugio 2010- Idalou An East Tx team hasn't won State in this division since 2009. I will say there is a good chance it will happen this year though since Waskom AND Newton are still alive.
  19. I do not think that is completely accurate. They had a few go out for a play or 2 but none were out the entire game. The stud running back ( He is in fact a stud, He could play somewhere for anyone) carried the ball the last play of the game. Sonora did pull off an improbably comeback and got a few breaks late. But if they don't play sloppy in the first Qtr ( Fumble a snap and have a drive ending penalty) then they are tied or within 1 score of Cisco the whole game. Cisco is a great team and I enjoyed watching how fast and physical they played. Had to be one of the best games ever to watch in person.
  20. Everyone from Cisco played. They may have had a few players get banged up but who doesn't this time of year.
  21. Falls City WILL win state in 1a D2 with "supposedly" 2 stud move ins to go with a semi final or state team without them.
  22. That is exactly how the EOC's are set up now. The issue for me is that people think schools are easier now, when the actual graduation and eligibility requirements are more rigorous than ever. If you are over 30, the state did not require you to pass 4 science classes, including physics, to graduate. You likely only had to have 3 maths (geometry, algebra 1 and 2) and if you are 50 years of age or older.....don't even try to justify passing 3 "core" classes to be eligible as being as tough as no pass no play. Some schools are worse than they used to be...but most are better. Try taking the interactive TAKS exit tests or EOC tests from Pearson Interactive and honestly tell me our kids aren't learning.
