  1. MP on paper and based on a lot of what I read is probably playing down. The fact that we are 0-4 makes this questionable. Great question and I have seen lots of different ideas on this over the years. Back when MP was more competitive, lots of years they would enter District play at 1-4 or 0-5 and then go deep in the playoffs.
  2. Anyone know anything about Sherman's JV or Freshmen squads???
  3. Gonna be tough for MP to get a W unless some things go different for them. Not good enough to overcome penalties, turnovers, etc. and they can't seem to put it all together.
  4. You are truly amazing! To say that the freshmen from MP has no speed shows exactly how little you know. Can't even begin to respond to all the #### you have thrown out there. No playoffs in the next 6 to 7 years, you are so intelligent that I am sure you know what District each of us will be in over that span. Can you please enlighten us with more of your knowledge or lack there of? Lots of things go on over 6 or 7 years but this is a remarkable statement. Just a little more ignorance, please tell me where Longview falls on Mount Pleasant's schedule and also tell us all how many of these middle schools MP has played over the past two years. You know NOTHING!
  5. They were THAT good. Played against them that year on a pretty good 3A team that went 7-3 and they beat us 56-0 and it could have been worse. Can't compare them to the great 4A and 5A teams, but by far the best 3A team ever.
  6. Eagle8-I will have to agree with Topcat, check your facts. I have been following the board for a few years and just this year decided to start posting. I enjoy reading a lot of the info, but I would be most interested in whether you have ever put a jock strap on. You seem to put a lot of stock in a scrimmage that was the first scrimmage for a new coach. Hate to even say it, since we only scored once in the three way scrimmmage, but since you are so interested in continuing to say that MP is so bad, you must have been in the restroom when Julian broke off a 60 yard run and tripped over a blade of grass and then turned around two plays later and scored. No big deal, because it was all three teams first scrimmage.
  7. Not sure which game you were watching SLuGO or maybe you weren't watching, but that game could have gone either way pretty easily. Didn't see 3 TD difference either way. Good Luck Tigers!
  8. I am with you, hope Mount Pleasant can come out on top in this one!
  9. Guess I understand why no one has asked about this one, but someone has to win. What's your thoughts?
  10. Great question-great teams and great talent. The few folks I talk to on a regular basis were impressed with DA, but also said that Stevie Wonder could have won with the talent that D'field had during his time there. I will leave that question for those closer to the situation, but lots of great coaches!
  11. Anyone know what Pleasant Grove's JV/Freshman teams have got this year?
  12. We do have some potential and it remains to be seen how it will all work out, but they are a pretty good group of kids on and off the field. The number of hispanic kids that are playing can't do anything but help also. Our B team went to Athens and they fell 27-0. Not sure whether it was an A or B team that they played, but from the folks I have talked to, they felt it was their A team. Looked like yall had plenty to have played a B game last night.
  13. Topcat, I like your posts, so please don't take this the wrong way. Freshmen score at the half was 21-12. MP hit a touchdown pass with a few seconds left in the half to make it 21-12. Would have to disagree with starters not playing in second half, the studs played the 3rd quarter and it was 28-12 at this point. Special teams on both sides were pretty bad. LE's first score was set up by a bad snap to the punter and LE's second score was a 85 yard kickoff return. It was fun, LE has a great group of athletes in that fresh class. We have seen them on the track and they are impressive! #8 can flat play! Good luck tonight and be careful on I-30 coming this way.
  14. I am a new MP poster and you are right, not a lot coming from MP these days. Not what it once was, wins and losses has a lot to do with that. Community doesn't get excited, fans don't get excited, just pretty sad. Hopefully we are moving in a positive direction. Lots of kids out in the 7th grade, 62 kids out in the 8th grade and 45 freshmen out. At least the numbers are up.
  15. MP's Fresh have a pretty decent squad. Only loss as 8th Graders was to T-High and it was a great game. Playing more kids this year, so they may not be as stout as they have been. They beat Henderson 20-12 last week. MPJV numbers are pretty low and they are not loaded with talent. They lost 27-0 last week to Henderson. Thanks for responding!
  16. Anyone have any info on what Liberty Eylau's Freshmen and JV have this year?
  17. First timer, so looking for a few first beer comments. I attended the 3-way scrimmage involving SH-Tatum-MP. I wouldn't say that Tatum and SH walked all over MP but maybe our definitions of walking all over folks is different. Hard to even know exactly how it would have ended up since each team did not face the same opponent. Is MP down this year, sure and they looked at a lot of kids that night, after all, it was all three teams first scrimmage. No excuses, but MP plays 4A ball with 3A numbers, but it is what it is. New coach and not just loads of talent, but they have gotten better each week and will continue to get better, as most teams will each week. Gotta take MP, but it should be a good one!
