I've been to Florida, and the prices of food, gas, ect weren't different than here. I'll also say I was in NYC last summer, and the few gas stations I saw was only about 25 cents higher than here at the time. Surprisingly, the places we ate at were very reasonable as well, although we never went anywhere fancy (hole in the wall Chinese, which btw was much much better than anything here and im not big on Chinese food, and a pizza joint). Wife and I are going to San Diego this summer with a day trip to LA and Anaheim. Fully expecting to have to pay much more for things than they are here.
