Garrison will be ready to play Thurs night. The last few games have been against some outstanding teams and I just don't see the same level of talent with this Franklin team. I am not saying that the Dogs will come into this game and stomp Franklin. What I am saying is that Franklin better not look past Garrison. I have talked with a couple of our boys this week and they are ready for the challenge. Win or lose, I am very proud of this team. They have shown us all that heart wins games just like talent does. I wish the Dogs all the luck in the world. I pray for safe travels for both schools and their fans. Good luck to Newton, CC and Crocket this week as well. Roll Dogs

I believe that CC will run away with this game. I do have to say, I was very impressed with not only the football team but the fans last Friday. Y'all don't act like a lot of folks around when it comes to high school football. Our boys were treated with respect and that says a lot for your school and fans. The halftime show I think your crowd gave our band more love than we did and that was awesome. I think this CC team has the talent to go along way this year. I wish them all the luck in the world and I cant wait to come watch y'all down the line.

I think this game will be closer than people think. Garrison had a rough night last Friday and they will be ready to come out and play. I believe we had some 2nd string players in for most of the 2nd half (I still have not heard why that was??). I know these boys will come out and fight to the end. We have a bunch of good kids here in Garrison and they will not give up at any point.

Garrison has been a football school for a long time. When you go into the local gas stations, football is all that is talked about. I agree with most of what everybody says. I will give you my take on this years team. I have seen a lot of talent come through Garrison in the last 20 or so years. This team struggles in the talent pool. I have NEVER and will NEVER talk bad about any kid. If the talent is not there than it's just not there. We have a Senior QB that is in his second year starting that is an outstanding young man, very smart at his position but is a bit small (I hear very good basketball and baseball player). We have a young running back that has all the moves but is not very big. We have several good receivers that are all young We have a offensive line that is very young and undersized for what Garrison has had in the past. We have 3 very talented linebackers that I would put up with the best around and feel good about it. One is a Senior who also is a very talented receiver as well. We have a first year coaching staff with a new AD. It will take some time for all of this to come together. I look back on the 2003 team and find something similar about these teams. They both show nothing but heart on the field. I'm not saying that this years team will win state or anything like that but they show a lot of heart out on the football field. This team might be down on the score board but will never stop working hard. They make most people in this small town very proud. Life is not all about wins and the way these kids handle themselves around town and at church and in the gas stations makes me proud to be a Bulldog. I wish this team the best of luck this Friday against a very good Newton team and the best of luck the rest of the way.

AT this point the numbers do not matter. We will put our pads on, strap our chin straps and walk onto the field the same way they will. What will matter is the attitude and heart that the Dogs will bring with them. I know this will be a tough game but I believe our young men will come to play. At the end, that is all we can ask for.

What do you think about this match up? After watching Garrison the last couple of weeks, I believe they are starting to play Bulldog football. Offense is really looking good with the running game and the passing game. Defense is really playing well. Hard nose football is the best. There is a lot of history with these two coaching staffs and this should be a barn burner.

The game is @ Garrison. Homecoming week. I don't know a lot about Deweyville? I can tell ya that The Dogs are starting to come along on offense. Running game is opening up the passing game and that part of the game is getting stronger every week. Please tell me about Deweyville. What are their strengths?

The running games does need to get stronger. The line has to do their job to even allow the running or passing game to be any better. I believe they will make some adjustments, changes ect... to allow the running game to be what it needs to be. If that happens, watch out because the passing game will pick up. Garrison has a lot of younger players that are going to have to step up for this team to live up to the standard of football around here. As far as people saying we wont win a lot of district games or this is the worst team Garrison has ever had, I hope these boys prove you wrong. I believe we will take 2nd or 3rd in our district and make the playoffs. That in my mind will be a winning season for these young men. Don't forget, new coaches, new systems and new (young) players will take awhile to figure it out. Pre-district is the time to do that and then its time to roll...

What are ya'll thinking on this match up?

As I sat back and read the post of the weekend, all I could do is laugh. Let me start by saying CONGRATS to Shelbyville. This was a well played game by the Dragons. I do not agree with the way some of the players on the field acted and some of the cheap shots but this is football. The game is suppose to be played at a high level and I feel like Shelbyville did just that. (Please hear me on this) Fans will always be fans. Parents will always be parents. Students will always be students. Everybody gets caught up in the action and everybody will always talk #### on the visiting team. It is NO different at Garrison when we are at home. No, we should never curse at a kid. This is not just a Shelbyville issue. This happens all over. As adults we need to set back and look at ourselves and make sure that we are being the example that we ALL should be. I look forward to seeing and different Garrison Bulldog team out on the field next week. I am also excited to see what Shelbyville does from here on out. They have a good team with a lot of heart and that is what it takes to win high school football games. Roll Dawgs

What are you thinking? Garrison will put at least 21 points on the board. That means you think Shelbyville will put up 33 to 35 on the board?????? Hahahahahahahah. Now that is the worst prediction I have seen in a long time. Good Luck Roll Dawgs

If you sit back and think about what is going on in Garrison this year, the light bulb might come on. It took me awhile last Friday to realize what was going on. Yes, not having our running back was tough. Yes, missing some blocks here and there was tough, but that's not the problem. I hate to even say problem because its not really a problem. We have been on the field now for only 4 weeks. These kids are learning not only new coaches but a whole new system. It might take a few weeks into the season to fully understand what the new coaches are trying to do but these young men will understand more and more every week. I was very impressed with the "D" last week. They are as strong and as quick as ever. Yes, the "O" had some struggles but what NEW offense doesn't? I was very impressed with the hearts of all our running backs and the leadership of our QB. I think if you just sit back and wait, this team has a chance to be very special. I pray for a good clean game with no injuries tonight. Good luck to both teams. ROLL DAWGS
