  1. Van has a top notch program. Kids with alot of heart. This game, like the last, could have gone either way. Henderson did not outplay them, it simply came down to ticks on the clock. Everyone has taunted Henderson's defense, well it nothing to write home about. If they have a desire to keep moving on to the next week, they better step it up some. Offensively, they need to drop the inside run. It is not productive for them. Very low percentage play. They looked good in Nac, showed some different looks and it paid off. Against Van they showed pretty much what they saw in the 21-20 loss a couple weeks back. OC needs to remove head from the dark area, hrow some and let's get it done. Congrats to Van on a great season. Lions will need to dig a little deeper in the hat and pull out ALL the stops to keep moving past next week.
  2. We had a timeout to call. Guess coaches were discussing what do we do. Jeez. We are actually paying these guys with our taxes!
  3. Coaching YES. Athletically it is a close match. I think Hendo has a little more speed. Hopefully the OC will realize this and try to get the kids to the corner a little more. Drag route has been open ALL night.
  4. Newsflash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Henderson's. Coaches need to grow a set and stop being so conservative. It is the PLAYOFF's. Good Grief.
  5. Wow. Playing down a class and struggling. Hope y'all are ready for a difficult district run
  6. Need a QB and an offensive line that can stay on blocks
  7. Henderson could use a good QB and an offensive line that could get off the ball. OK, I am ready for all of the feed back.
  8. Awesome Game Thanks to Gilmer for showing the class and heart and representing easttexas. LIKE I SAID!?!!!?! This is a simple repost with some edits from the Gilmer vs. Celina pregame hyp.. My predications are still the same, names have been changed to protect those that didn't relaize the impending doom. I can respect Celina's WOS playoff history and records,BUT, Gilmer will line up and exploit every strength you've had up until know. They have receivers that line up everywhere and I think they have scissortail flycatcher in their blood because no matter how good your coverage is, you will be scratching your heads . While you are anticipating the pass, they will let go of the pack of buzzsaws the call running backs and its time to scratch and think once again. They have WAY to many weapons and too much depth. They can match anyone strength for strength, speed for speed. They are patient and on a mission. If they can't outplay you, they will out coach you. Like I say, too many weapons. Should be illegal. I'm not from Gilmer, but I have too much respect for the Gilmer Buckeye Nation NOT to be pulling for them against Celina WOS. Like I said before,Celina WOS has had a great tradition, and people from that area will not let little old east Texas forget it. Biggest difference I see is, Gilmer deserves respect from what they do year in year out, they don't rely on the past to win in the present. I'm sure I will be getting slammed now. Henderson lions are out, got beat by Navasota, so I am now an unlicensed, temporary, bleed orange and black, bust-em-up buckeye nation fan.2 weeks in a row Good season Celina WOS,sorry it didn't work out for you in 2014 either. Got to love some EAST TEXAS football!!!!!!!
  9. Glad there is a QUALITY program In East Texas still in it. Go get boys. Its yours for the taking

  11. I can respect Celina's playoff history and state championship records,BUT, we heard the same thing a couple years ago when we (Henderson) met them in the playoffs. Online this and D line that. We had them scratching their heads from the opening kickoff. Gilmer will line up and exploit every strength you've had up until know. They have receivers that line up everywhere and I think they have scissortail flycatcher in their blood because no matter how good your coverage is, you will be scratching your heads again. While you are anticipating the pass, they will let go of the pack of buzzsaws the call running backs and its to!me to scratch and tink once again. They have WAY to many weapons and too much depth. 12. He is "Getting Gone while the Getting is Good". Rats leaving a sinking ship. Knows talent will be down even more than in 2012.
  13. Now that you have yourself convinced-How 'bout the rest of us?
  14. Sure Henderson lost to Carthage-Also lost to Gimer and Alvarado. Setting at 11- 3 for the season. State ranking have not been updated since the start of the playoffs on Dave C or several other sites. Calpreps (one of the best) has continually updated and NOW have Alvarado @ #1 followed by Argyle, Henderson (yes-with 3 losses) Gilmer and the Chapel Hill. These ranking are based on opponents strength of schedule, power rankings, etc. Several sports writers from the Dallas area along with comments made on SRL agreed that IF Henderson was consistant in it play, they would have not lost to ANY of these teams. I know the old saying- if IF's and But's were Candy and #### we would all have a Merry Christmas. My point being-Chapel Hill started the season ranked #1 for a reason-they are GOOD. If you look at the power ranking-Chapel Hill started of the 2011 season BELOW were Henderson finished in 2010. Henderson's power ranking in 2011 -with the 3 losses is HIGHER than it was after the state game in 2010. Alvarado-Argyle-Gilmer and Chapel Hill have been consistant in ther play for the most part. They play to their stengths as they should and capitize on others mistakes. Henderson has made a ton in 2011. turnovers killed them. I think both teams-Chapel Hill and Alvarado deserve to be in the championship game. They are both great programs with great kids and coaches on both sides of the ball. As far as C-Hill being (quote) "far better than henderson"-I will have to disagree. Yes-CHill is in the state plyoffs for the second time in 2 years. That is a great accomplishment. Henderson did not make it back-they got beat. They got behind and Alvarado SHUT THEM DOWN. IF it were a rematch of 2010 -I would not hesitate to take Henderson with a win and C-Hill having another LOOOOOONNNNNG ride home. I heard and saw all of the hype from Chill last year before and during the pre-game. The vids and songs and whatevers. Even saw a couple of shirts already calling them 2010 state champs. I think this got in their way and I hope it doesn't do the same in 2011 Alvarado is VERY capable of winning this one also. They play with a "walk softly and carry a big stick" mentality. Very well coached-great team leaders and will knock your jock off. Chapel Hill does the same- with a little more visual emotion. Support your team- be proud in their accomplishments. Good Luck to both-be safe in your travels-leave it ALL on the field.
