D-1 is loaded this year: Canadian, Albany, Goldthwaite, Alto, Kerens and Mart with Ganado and Garrison as "dark horses" D-2 is very weak: Tenaha will win the D-2 championship.

We were also looking for games...the coaches were making calls today not sure if they had any luck or not. I will tell Coach Finney about your post.

I agree Tenaha will cruise through district and go deep or win the D-2 1A state championship...don't see anybody that will stop them if they stay healthy.

Thanks to all our Smoaky friends for the prayers...Jake's head hit the ground on one of his carries and resulted in a major concussion...he was taken to Mexia where a ct scan was done and then taken on to Waco...neurologists cleared him to go home about 1am this morning and he will probably miss two weeks...he woke up this morning without a headache which is extremely unusual for the severity of his concussion (he was out cold for about 3-6 minutes!!! Glory and praise to God for his protection and quick recovery!! God bless!

Hey Owlamcheced...why don't you call up Coach Patton and discuss the situation with him instead of taking shots from behind a computer screen? The kids and coaches are working hard and don't need your cheap shots.

Good grief...not sure why but I will patiently try to answer your questions. 1. There are three kids that weren't here last year...two are coaches kids (my son is the qb and a soph lineman)...guess you wanted us to leave our families behind when we moved. 2. Your quote "Sure coach I know how you got you a qb"...dur...my wife gave birth to him. 3. Your facts are far from true since I have never talked to ANY coach from Fairfield on the phone. 4. If you can read and would take the time to read my post I said that the UIL and district committee has ruled and we both should move on...done deal...the kid hasn't played a snap on the varsity and we are doing fine...thank you. Anything else? Kind of bored tonight and don't mind educating you on the facts.

It realy is so sad when individuals that have no clue what the facts are choose to hide behind a computer screen and take shots at kids and coaches. There are two sets of coaches, the UIL executive committe and the district committee that know every fact about every transfer. Both committee's have ruled one player inelligible and that is the final word on the subject...period. The above post is so ridiculous it's not even worth my time to refute all the silly statements...even if I could figure out what they were trying to spell or say! Have a blessed day! Most on here know who I am and where I am from so obviously I have some knowledge about this case and I am completely shocked with this decision...I guess we should never be shocked with anything the UIL does after some of the realignment decisions!! This kid is absolutely dirt poor and has nothing going for him except sports. His mother is a single parent and moved to Teague to be closer to her job. We had never seen the kid till he walked in and said he had moved to Teague from a neighboring town. Looking at the facts we figured it was an open and shut case...boy were we wrong!! When we get the paperwork from the other town we are surprised to see that the AD said the kid has moved for athletic reasons only...hmmmmm...now that's strange...come to find out there is a history between the kid and the AD...Ad has kicked him out and bans the kid from ever being in athletics in that school again!! Those are the facts that the UIL had before them...proof of residency was established...guess they believed one person over another or the UIL has employed a mind reader to know what people are thinking...the young man is a senior...and he is now done...as I am writing this I still can't believe it...and the UIL is in it for the kids?

Hey...who you callin' old!!! Oh...dang...I AM old!!! We're doing great, how bout you?

The varsity teams had an 18 minute timed period with Kerens scoring once on a long run while Teague moved the ball well they couldn't get one in the endzone...Teague played lots and lots of kids and kept the offense to a "bare bones minimum" so we were pretty happy overall...defense had some problems getting lined up correctly and that cost us on the long run but those things are very fixable...the defense did a great job of flying around and playing aggresively...best of all no injuries...the kids and the coaching staff are extremely excited about the season and ready for Friday night!!!

Thanks for the kind words player73...we are very happy and proud to be wearing the Orange and white...we hope we can get things turneed around and headed the right direction...there are some outstanding athletes coming in Lion country...the "cupboard" is fully loaded from 7th grade up!! It's going to be a great time to be a Teague Lion for many years to come!!
