Question... if enrollment numbers are down....people leaving the area...etc... then what makes LaMarque or any other school any better? Does that mean the only people that are leaving the area are just parents of band students, or basket weaving? I'm not real sure I understand the fear behind having a school in the Houston area with the same amount of students verses a school in east texas. If you have the same amount of kids in the school system then you have the same allotment to choose from, right? Confused?

With the venue at Cowboys Stadium, I wouldn't think it would do anything but help increase funding for the UIL. Who wouldn't pay 20-25 dollars to see the stadium and watch great high school football. Great info. DD, thanks. Still rooting for those Dawgs down the road. Good Luck!

I grew up with coach Watson from the time we were born. Mt. Vernon couldn't ask for a better individual to coach the kids attending. We played high school ball then went to SFA together and I know for a fact coach Watson, just like his dad, is in it for the kids. Good luck to you guys.

DD, I'm going to take that as a compliment to Henderson. I'm also going to state that when the coach of Carthage tells his team," It's a fight! Don't leave Henderson without a win"! Everyone at Coldsprings can rest assured there's no under estimations. I've fought against Carthage all of my athletic career; years of winning and losing. And, what I've learned is that no matter how prepared, how strong, how fast or fluid that you think you are, sooner than later the gloves have to come off and the fight is on! Once again, I express my deepest concern that Coldsprings maybe overlooking one very tangeable force in Carthage's offense and special teams. # 14 !!!!!!!!!! If Coldsprings doesn't put the correct amount of emphasis on this young man and when I say correct, I mean every warm blooded creature available, then Coldsprings team and fans are in for an upfront and personal view of a train wreck! We in Henderson, (by the way Coldsprings we're 2010 DI State Champs), feel that the Bulldogs have played opponents that are of calibur and that they can win. Go DAWGS !!!!!!! 16 3A

Well, I suppose I do have my neighbors Dawg in this fight, so that's who I'm pulling for. Being we played this team, I will say this; problems with defense, maybe, slow start this year, maybe, none of this will make a hill of beans if Coldsprings doesn't put about 5 people on #14 in the backfield. We played Carthage really well the first half....then they cut this kid loose, an I'm telling you, if Coldsprings doesn't have that chin strap tight, they'll be pick'n up pieces. He knows the UIL doesn't fine for helmet to helmet contact. IMO. GO DAWGS 2 STATE TITLES ON HWY 79!!!!!!!

what a game....somewhat surprised of how well the D performed. They sure picked a perfect night to pull it all together.All of the coaches deserve a huge pat on the back. I congratulate my home team and I'm proud to be a Lion. I would also like to thank, mama, Buzz, Tan and the rest that stepped up...your solid. CHill has a bunch of great kids and I don't think you could have scripted a better championship. We should all be proud. I was just glad to be apart of history and couldn't have asked for a better opposing team to help make it. Way to go Lions!!!!!!!!

Be real careful here Buzz....frogman is a very respected center of influence in this community and has no intentions of talking any trash. He's been in this school system for over 40 yrs and was the running back coach for Henderson when they went to semi finals in 1968. He's just giving information not spewing junk at anyone. My bad... it was Danny Malone. Charlie was another brother that I believe officiated. See, I graduated in 89 Rickey did not.....Rickey was 2 yrs younger.... I played with him for about half a year when they moved him up. I don't believe he graduated until 90 or 91, under Dennis Alexander. Then his brother picked up where he left off. I'm just glad to see that you played. My info was just for credibilty. I hate to see people talk about whats going to happen and how it's going to happen when they've never taken a snap. Just like the Cowboys and Colts game...anything can happen at anytime. If Henderson loses, I'll be the first to come on here and take my lumps...not a problem.
