  1. "Tommy Brashear named new Yoe coach"...
  2. Guarantee you Vargas got instantly tired of the criticism, and anyone from Yoe Nation can tell you the offensive miscues were most likely not his fault. And he didn't want to deal with the favoritism. New outside OC is gonna bring at least new terminology that's gonna take a while to implement...
  3. A: Yeah, pretty sure Dodge DID have a way better talent pool at SLC. If he'd gone to Malakoff or Teague and thrown down a 78-2 record, THAT might have been a more logical comparison. SMH B: These coaches, like politicians, are OUR EMPLOYEES. They are paid to teach OUR CHILDREN with OUR TAX MONEY. Does THAT explain why we think we have a right to voice our opinions? Think before you type.
  4. Mathis is already publicly stating he's staying at Marshall, from what I hear.
  5. I'm guessing you're one of those guys who thinks Montana was a better QB than Marino just because Montana won SuperBowl rings.
  6. Rhoades and Traion got us to state title games, but Yoe was a Texas HS football powerhouse that won consistently for generations before they came along.
  7. Ain' t talking about the crowds. Talking about moms preferring their boys play soccer than football, and the boys' decision to submit to that preference possibly being affected by the football program losing its luster.
  8. I'm not saying soccer is a problem right now. But I've personally met more than one adolescent male in CISD who has told me he's "playing soccer because Mommy doesn't want me to play football." I'm saying in a few years, if the football program doesn't get straightened out it could be a harmful combination...
  9. Ain't even about finding another Rhoades. Yoe Nation was Yoe Nation for YEARS before Rhoades. And let's be honest - Like Sumlin with Manziel, Rhoades lucked out that he was coaching when Traion came along. This program has had way better seasons with way less talent. MANY times. But what has also happened is that A: Now that the program has won MULTIPLE state titles after all these years, the fans have grown complacent, and B: (And forgive me for not being politically correct here) Now that soccer has moved in and the concussion scare has rattled new age parents, many boys coming up are being moved away from football in Cameron. It's almost a "perfect storm" that has to be addressed and dealt with in this small town.
  10. You've heard Brashear's looking for another job???
  11. Don't forget: UIL will have official DVDs of the State Championship games available around end of March on their website.
  12. Take a wild guess who Rockdale's QB was when they won their first title in '76?
  13. You have taken the words right out of my mind in a FEW comments in this thread. I was very close with Coach Brashear's older brother so I've "known" him since he was a kid. He's always been an upstanding young man. But I said from Jump Street that the "country club crowd" in Cameron wanted him to have that job just because he was a "local boy" who they could press under their thumbs. Now the kids and the community are paying for it. Well, we'll see what kind of effect this has in the next school board elections... I'm with you - Tommy's a good guy, and he does care about the Yoe kids. But I'm not sure he's head coach material. And the size of the roster on the sidelines, and the support at pep rallies and in the stands on Friday nights is going to suffer if things don't get turned around QUICK.
  14. Rollin' with our Milam County family/District mates! You got there, Tigers! Now FINISH IT!
  15. So I hear it will be Rockdale vs Brock next Thursday?
  16. RUMOR from the inside is that there isn't a lot of discipline in the program. I've also heard things about the coaches who have left versus the coaches who have been brought in. Randy Sapp is a hometown boy, too, and they tried to run him out on the rails with a WAY better record.
  17. Putting Teague and Yoe in the same district? Yeah, I don't see that being an issue.
  18. Brock. Just to see them lose in Arlington to the ROCKDALE TIGERS.
  19. Rollin' with our Milam County/District 10 mates! GO TIGERS!!! Then go to Arlington and BEAT BROCK!
  20. Yoe plays the way they have the last four games, Franklin's walkin' out of Yoe Field with the W.
  21. The fact that the Yoe players and coaches seemed to be almost dispassionate on the sideline during the Madisonville scrimmage might say something. Yeah, I know Brashear and his staff are different from Rhoades and his. But considering the almost pedestrian concern for their performance, it's a bit worrisome, yes.Bellville had coaches at both Yoe scrimmages scouting. So it's obvious they are QUITE concerned with getting revenge on Yoe Field this weekend. And a trip TO China Spring is only two weeks away. And considering there was a rumor circulating recently that players were not taking practice seriously, my opinion is the Yoemen had BETTER get their focus and intensity on purdy dang quick. #GoBigYOE
