  1. Y'all got some 3A studs over there, and a program with pride. I know a couple Lions fans who don't like bein' in D-1, and I can see that. But all due respect, y'all can't run them boys like that for ten games in this district, THEN try to play smashmout with Teague, Malakoff, etc, in the playoffs (and runnin' that hurry-up quick-snap, too? No wonder those boys were beat up by game eight). I don't know if y'all got a QB who can throw or WRs who can catch (& run), but to be honest, that offense sets up a good play-action passing game. Coach needs to figure this out.
  2. Lindy's and Athlon College Football season preview annuals always feature a page ranking their Top 100 High School Seniors for the upcoming fall. Of Lindy's 100 for the 2018 recruiting year, ten are from Texas: Eight WRs/DBs, one TE, and one DE. (Athlon names only EIGHT in their Top 100). NO quarterbacks. NO running backs. NO offensive linemen. NO linebackers. NO defensive tackles. And yes, I have paid attention to these lists for almost thirty years - I don't remember the greatest high school football state EVER being so poorly represented on them. Fluke year?
  3. With that offense, though, in 3A D-1, players get worn out second half of season. Look at last year.
  4. Participation in extra-curricular activities is a privilege, not a right. And these kids are representing the school and the community. They can either display sportsmanship and character, or not compete. Period.
  5. Not all change is good. Every society has to decide what's acceptable and what isn't and draw lines. Seems to me this a clear-cut issue.
  6. Think about the people in THIS article. Then ask yourself what's the difference between them and transgenders? http://www.unilad.co.uk/health/transabled-people-are-cutting-off-their-limbs-to-become-disabled/
  7. Wait - I thought Kenny Stills was under contract with the Dolphins?
  8. I agree.Technically I think they should've interviewed more than just the "country club" crowd. Mr. Palgon mentioned in his letter to Mr. Sapp that they had dinner every evening at Bob's. They should've gotten out more, and sat at Dairy Queen or Texas Burger or even Las Casas. Surprised there weren't clips with Anton Kopriva or Birdie Shuemate...
  9. I got ya hookup! Here ya go! ;) Sally Nieman [email protected] 702-476-4020
  10. Maybe they didn't have the $ to send both. Made 'em thumb war for it?
  11. Ain't about what I or we think about the (agreed) mythical "national high school championship" - but USA Today, et al, are gonna do it anyway. I'm just sayin', if they're gonna do it, at least try to be a little ethical about it.
  12. Same thing was said about Fedora for months...
  13. Yeah, USA Today/Max Preps/etc DEFINITELY need to stop including them in rankings...

  15. There's no such thing as a "Yoeman." It's never singular...
  16. How many years has it been since a reg 4 team made it to state in this Div?
  17. I'll say it again: Ummm, yeah - It EXACTLY has to do with respect. When did showing respect, or expecting others to, become "old-fashioned" or "classless"??? That's a different level of the mentality that the Constitution is outdated or standing and removing your headwear during the Star-Spangled Banner is no big deal. These young men are playing a game, and there is nothing wrong with showing respect to the fact that a fellow participant has risked his well-being and could possibly be seriously injured for the sake of the game. I'm honestly disappointed that any of my fellow Yoemen who might have been in Houston last December feel that it's not a big deal to respect that.
  18. I'll take "Things Teague Said Last Week" for $300, Alex.
