  1. My guess would be calls have already gone out since their website has the timeline posted. I think their facilities right now are probably above their talent level at the moment.
  2. I looked through this thread. Did anyone hear that the job posting changed to AD/HFC over Christmas Break?
  3. The best way to feel good about it is if the supt has texted or emailed you and said "the job is your's, the interview is a dog and pony show". That way you've got it in writing. You can feel good all you want but the dog running the committee is the one in charge of making the decisions. If you don't in some way have a connection to said person the road is tough to hoe. I know there's always exceptions to the rules but this is what I've seen as a norm. I don't like committees because you typically have the 1 or 2 who don't really have any investment in the program that feel like they're word means something. I had a friend interview one time that had 13 people in the committee and all but 1 of them asked questions that had anything to do with athletics.

  5. As they're slowly winding down, what do you think would make the state championship games more enjoyable for fans to watch it? My suggestion, if it stays at Jerry World, is to allow the sale of alcohol.

  7. He'll have a shot to compete but will ultimately win the job. I'm ok with sacrificing wins to appease the community for a little while because, well, you're already in that one school board member's head and have her convinced I have no clue what I'm doing. I figured you'd sniff out my side piece but I won't tell your wife if you don't tell mine... Don't worry about me being a Dairy Queen for the daily bull session. I figured I wouldn't want to show up when my wife didn't get invited to Bunko this week. I hope it's still ok that the hometown guy and the guy that applied for the job that didn't get it start to come to the bull sessions. I also understand that the cat will come out of the bag that I wanted to get rid of them in the first place but was told to "give them a chance". I hope it's ok with you but I've already applied for another job that pays more and wins consistently. Please at least let me interview before you call them and tell them how worthless I am. I'm really trying to make everyone happy but the band director is up my @$$ about using the game field since they're the ones that have advanced on and not the football team. I let them have my entire offensive line at half time and every Tuesday and Wednesday during practice...I don't know what else she mammoth wants. As always I know it's my ineptitude as a coach and not your genetic short-comings that haven't made JR the starting QB at Bama. I hope we can still at least acknowledge each other at the local grocery store aisle this time without you turning around and walking away. GOOD LUCK 'CORNS!

  9. I can't tell you how ecstatic I am for this opportunity for myself and my family. Lala Land is a tremendous community with people who are passionate about their own desires and children. As AD I promise to hold all kids accountable but keep the administration's kid not quite as accountable. It will be my desire to use this place as a stepping stone whenever I realize that the kids, administration, community, and school board will not support me as I try to instill mental and physical toughness! GO 'CORNS!

Here's my fool proof way to get hired 1) Know the person with the most pull on the committee 2) Tell them how you won't make the baseball kids and basketball kids go to the weightroom 3) Hire a smoking hot female to bring to the interview (unless you're married to one) 4) Have a couple of division 1 looking sons 5) Obssess how much you care about the band 6) Talk about bringing in a culture change but let the hiring committee know in subtle ways you're just going to polish their t.u.r.d.

  13. You've got a state championship caliber game going on in district play. I wish I could make it out there. I wouldn't be surprised to see these two end up playing each other again in the playoffs.
  14. They can if there's a vendetta against someone. Remember, Junior needs to be the starting quarterback, receiver and mike backer at all times! I've seen great coaches get either persuaded or pushed out the door over school board members' vendettas.

  19. They're ain't enough cheddar in Coldspring to bring Barbay back. A lot of times people don't know how good they have something until it's gone. The shame of it is places like Coldspring have high expectations every year and don't want to accept the reality of a down year or lesser talent; it's easier to blame coaching instead of "we're just down this year".
  20. If that's the case Vanover is a good dude. He's seasoned and is a great role model for kids.
