  1. Next year every school jumps a classification-all 3A's become 4 A's etc. unless numbers change and jumps them or drops them down. 1 A's become 2 a's ' 5 A's become 6A's---6 man becomes 1 A's
  2. Texas will get a top notch coach who will "clean house" and start over. Don't count Saban out-he knows the type players we have in Texas high school football and is an easy place to recruit from. I hope they don't ask Gary Patterson because I am afraid its the one place he might leave for.
  3. This has been coming for a few years now and many Texas fans see it will happen that a few years ago got upset when some of us mentioned this. Texas has certainly "underachieved" for several years. More and more athletes are chosing other programs on the rise and Texas has a hole to climb out of now. I believe football, basketball and baseball will have new head coaches after this year.
  4. no matter how thin the pancake it always has "to sides to it"
  5. Boykin is the man now with CP and Matthews trying to beat him out. No one will know until after spring training. CP is not only a good college QB but a good NFL prospect. He has the tools to be a great one. Lets hope he stays clean, works his tail off, and has a great guture ahead of him. Man if Josh Hamilton can do it and he was a lot worse off , then Casey can do it. It will be an interesting spring at Frogland.
  6. Good luck to both your sons in the future. It is just a different 'chapter' in their lives. Both are able to go on to a higher level which is a lot more than majority of dads have to look foreward to. Many kids do not make it to the next level, due to ability; size; or whatever it might be. Celina will miss the boys as they have been a big part of keeping the Bobcats success continue. Some of the Henderson folks kind of go 'crazy' on here but most of us are just good loyal Lion fans as you are a Bobcat. The Lions lost a large number of Seniors who were able to play about 43 games the past three seasons. Going to really have to have some kids "step up" and grow up fast if we make a run next year. However we have a program that each year seems to do that as Celina does also. Anyway, its beem fun going back and forth the past two years before we played ya'll and be proud of those boys of yours-they will be fine-its tougher on you than them. good luck! 7. After Spring semester gets rolling things will start jumping....interesting to see who gets what..... ..some pretty good jobs open this year.
  8. A couple?? Texas has 7 recruits playing in the All-America game today in San Antonio...recruits has never been a problem..talent there each year..that's why they don't take a chance on a 6'0" kid with speed at QB from Kerrville Tivy....so much talent around and they get their share each year. Sometimes the stars they are labeled with don't pan out for whatever reason..
  9. # 10 the boy you are talking about will be a great "hornedfrog"...His speed is something...Patterson knows how to recruit. Reminded me of Libery Hill when they drummed gilmer in state game in waco at floyd casey.......
  10. Come on Gilmer..ET shutout year....surely not.....Tenaha and d.field both got beat "handily'...wow!!!!
  11. That is a shame. Seems like every year before Christmas something bad strikes. Monsta Brown was riding with his brother (SFA player)last Sat. and turned over their car three times..Monsta got a couple bones broken(hand)-lung punctured-concussion; is out of hospital. His brother had a concussion..Seat belts saved their lives I understand.........they were lucky..word is a tire blew out on the SUV.......
  12. You will love playing at cowboy stadium,,,,the huge scoreboard across midfield(20-20)is great. I prefer 2nd level and not lower level because of scoreboard to watch. We played the rattlers a few years back in non-district..really athletic each year (as Gilmer is) and it will be a good one, I think. they will be tough to stop on offense as QB is really a seasoned, field general, and they play some defense as well-not just an offensive team..it will come down to a game of 3rd. downs as most championship games do...I would never bet against a Gilmer team however, and the team that eliminates mistakes will be hard pressed to beat. The young kids on Gilmers team have grown up over the playoff run, and the Gilmer coaches do a very good job on both sides of the ball. So Gilmer buckeye fans , good luck, and the Henderson people will be pulling for ya'll to bring home the state trophy representing our district, as well as Buckeye land.
  13. Mack Brown is a politician--he throws out more BS than any coach living. He was a salesman but has lost his "swager"...guess that's why he is BS's so much. He wants everybody to be happy and when the LB turned and walked away from him in last game he stood there with "pie" on his face......Jenkins was his name... Patterson handles things and is 100 times tougher on players than Clappy Macky brother...
  14. Biggest test yet for your secondary...hope someone will keep us posted on Smoaky as game is played....Good luck Buckeyes and make it all the way to JerryWorld-would be your first time since championship games started playing there...Henderson 2010 state champ there-Chapel Hill 2011 state champs there....2012 state champs???????Come on 163A keep em coming..........
