  1. So excited for this one. Can't wait for work to be over.
  2. I think overall team speed New Boston will have a slight edge. PP looks to have plenty of kids who can run though. I do not think speed will have a huge advantage one way or the other. I think if #1 was good to go it would, just because if someone breaks free he could run them down and save a touchdown. He could also just flat out run past people and go up and get a ball when you needed it the most. I think the game comes down to turnovers and the New Boston D-line. New Boston is young on the D-line, they have to start two sophomores at defensive end. Both of them play hard and do all they can, they are just not quite there yet. Spencer Jackson has played well at DT, but the other DT's do not get involved in the game as much. New Boston needs to be turnover free, and it wouldn't hurt to create a few. They also need great play from the defensive front.
  3. Good luck to Redwater from New Boston. I hope we both get to see each other again :D
  4. Just heard from someone the best news I have heard this week. Quinn Dedmon is cleared and ready to go!
  5. I think rain favors New Boston. If both teams are forced to keep it on the ground all game I would think Pilot Point might struggle offensively.
  6. Just because that guy said that, I had to find out for myself. Jeff Gladney is at school in a wheelchair. He goes to Shreveport tomorrow for an MRI. All indications are that he tore one of the ligaments in his knee.
  7. I mean I know they were at full strength the first few games before district......but after that it has been several out each week.
  8. Commerce seems about even. Nice to be the home team for once. Quinn is suppose to go to the doctor this week I heard.....but after talking to a few people it is not a for sure thing for him to be back. Keeping the fingers crossed he will be. Hopefully Wade will recover from his injury and be good to go. NB has had some bad luck with injuries this year. It is a shame that we will never really get to see this 2014 team at full strength. Seems like we have been missing 2 or 3 starters all year.
  9. I don't see how Quinn could be back, he still had the boot on the sideline today. I guess he is getting that taken off soon, but it would be surprising to see him just jump right back in. Can't put it past him though. Wade has to be healthy and running at top speed. If Wade is back, he brings the big play ability we did not have against Jefferson. Pilot Point will be a tough one!
  10. The 3 best players for New Boston....Jeff Gladney, Devontae Wade and Quinn Dedmon are all out. I was very impressed by Sissons Pyle Martin TQ willing themselves over Jefferson. The OLine did not have there best game, but with so many out they were able to get us across the finish line. Defense just looked shooked in the 3rd but bowed up and found a way. Not sure how we are going to be able to win next week with so many out. Coach Thomas will have a plan.
  11. This will be one of those 63-28 type games with a Gilmer win.
  12. I think If both teams play mistake free football, New Boston has a little more talent, and has been in this situation more. If either team, turns the ball over, has penalties in crucial situations, and poorly executes they will be in trouble. I think New Boston will come out with a 14-7 or 21-7 type lead at half with Jefferson playing very tough. I think as the game goes on, the oline and RB's from new boston chip away.....New Boston will pull away.
  13. Someone needs to find the audio of it and put it with the play on hudl somehow for everyone to see. It would make sportscenter.
  14. Bostonlion I have actually heard a few of the JV players have been getting some reps, and at least one of them will be 2nd on the depth chart and expects to play at least in round 1.
  15. Looked at a few things showing "evening" showers. Maybe starting at 2:00 pm will get the game over with in time to keep dry.
  16. I believe New Boston will come out like they have all district. Score on the first few possessions, probably give up one touchdown early. It will be like 21-7 at half, maybe even 14-7. Then in the second half the running attack will start to wear down Jefferson, they will have to force things to try and keep up and will make a few mistakes NB will capitalize on. I really see this being 42-14 New Boston in a workman effort.
  17. Gilmer will roll. It won't be as easy as some of there other games......but they'll win handily. 49-14
  18. Commerce put in a visitors side a few years ago. Commerce has had some pretty good improvements over the past couple of years.
  19. I think NB will be favored by 3-4 touchdowns in this one. Winner plays Red Oak Life or Pilot Point in round 2. I saw Quinn Dedmon run out with the team last night but not play......I know back a few weeks ago people were saying he would be out for the year, but heard a few people in the stands saying he might be back if we make a run, anyone know the deal?
  20. Heard this one will be on a Thursday or Saturday night based on a coin flip. Also heard it would be Mount Pleasant or Pine Tree based on the flip.
  21. After seeing them both, I am actually going to take Prairieland in a nail biter. My reasoning for this is the ability of #12 to make plays. I think he will be the best player on the field. Winnsboro is very good as well, just a slight nod to Prairieland... 28-21 sounds right.
  22. So is NB vs. Jefferson now officially the first round matchup? I wonder where that will be played.
  23. Who all has some undefeated lower level squads? What teams might get over the hump based on what they having coming up?
