I'll tell you what was in the air last night, and on the ground. Flags, yellow flags. I'll bet Van had more penalties last night than all the other district games combined! I'm not complaining about the refs either. They did a good job. False starts, illegal substitutions you name it. We shot ourselves in the foot multiple times. Totally unlike normal Vandal football. Combine that with a couple of turnovers and the fact that Bullard played a great game and that explains it. Hopefully got that stuff out of our system and can start fresh next week.

Lindale. East Texas teams are just better.

Max Preps has Spring Hill vs Van Fri Nov 10th 7:30 at Tyler Rose. Max Preps doesn't always get things right but I did hear someone at the game last night say the same thing.

I think Gilmer by about 14 in a high scoring game.

I went to a playoff game many years ago at Royse City when that stadium was new. My jaw hit the ground when I saw that press box. I wasn't expecting to see something like that there. I remember when Royse City was just a dot on the map. Been to several games there since then and I agree it's a great venue.

Yep, that was the momentum changer for sure. Van had to score on that drive to stay in it. Carthage defense did what they needed to do. I hope you're right about the rematch. Would love to see these two teams play again. Really did feel like playoff game last night. Looks like both teams will be in good shape the next couple of years too. Not sure what realignment will do to our district though.

I get the feeling there was a lot of that happening tonight They shouldn't schedule World Series games on Friday nights in Texas

Wow, Bullard tried to play catch up. I haven't seen them play this year. How did they look?

Congrats Carthage. Good effort Vandals. Just out gunned in this one. I don't think Carthage gets stopped this year again.

Momentum has shifted in the Dawgs favor.

That's been Van's strength in a few games this year. Will be interesting to see how Carthage adjusts 2nd half.

I nearly posted the same thing. Crucial that the Vandals tie this up. Carthage defense is stingy, Van is usually better the 2nd half. Definitely could get interesting.

I know that happens but I never understood coaches not wanting to schedule tough teams for non district. Almost every team that has any success is usually battle tested by district play.

That's what I was thinking about the Lindale/CHill game. Our bye was the next week though.

I haven't seen the JV play but I heard that QB is good. Not sure if he's a sophomore or junior?

Van streams on Youtube. Just search for Van ISD. Not sure about Carthage. If you watch the Van stream be prepared for the commentators. They are 100% homers.

I think if Carthage brings their A game and makes no mistakes, they have a good chance of winning this....
