  1. They would hit p rods all day. They see a guy like that out of the pen every Tuesday and friday
  2. The whole point about the UZR stuff, yeah it's cool and is probably the best tool to base a defensive perspective on a guy over a span of a number of years strung together. In no way is it accurate for one week or even one season because there are way too many variables that can be factored into a player's range
  3. Does anyone from either team throw over 82? All this "best game in the state" talk is getting old. These 2 teams wouldn't survive playing the teams around the metroplex. Watch the word selection. "best small school game in the area"....
  4. You're better off giving more information in your initial post, i.e location, name of coaches...
  5. It comes with the territory, don't be so thin skinned. Why should the guy care so much about a smoaky poster if he's as great as everyone is saying? Sounds insecure to me
  6. How many home soccer games could you host? 8 or 10? No way a few track meets won't out revenue those 8 or 10 soccer games...
  7. Jham will be in center 90% of the time. Just a percentage that means "a lot." Murphy will not wow anyone with his defensive talents, but he will bring hustle to the park both in the field and at the plate, which a lot of guys don't. Hamilton is a gold glove caliber CF. Wildcat, name 3 better CFs actively playing...
  8. Showed y'all last night. Change up was devastating last night.
  9. Heard they have 90+ coming out of the bullpen and drop bombs 1-9, so dangerous!
  10. You're missing the point and that's the reason Hawkins is in the situation they are in. If they hoop year round and they're good at what they do, which the guys from Cayuga are, not denying that, how are they going to overcome adversity(which football can teach that) when they dominate the average 1A basketball player in just about every game? Until they get to an equal or in Tenaha's case, less talented and more physical Tenaha team that just outhustled and outbanged Cayuga 2 years in a row. Cayuga was the better team, but that's what happens when you have 1A straight hoopsters
  11. + a million to subway rats, glad someone else thinks this way! Maybe if the big guys from Yuga would've played football, they might've beaten tenaha!
  12. Hoopsters in small schools are usually guys that don't enjoy contact. I'm sure just about every kid in a small school started out playing junior high football. The point he is making is that straight hoopsters in small schools need to come out for football so they can give their team depth and promote overall athletic success. Whether you believe it or not, playing football helps your game on the hardwood, i.e using your body to get position beneath the rim or posting or whatever it may be. Don't knock the guy for wanting overall athletic success in a small school.
  13. It's not like Hawkins is sacrificing their football program to make their basketball team awesome. They finished next to last in their district.
  14. I think injun is referring to straight hoopsters that start out hooping in junior high. I think junior high football can teach a kid that they can do a little more than they think they can. Small guys can mix it up if they stay low. Football doesn't necessarily teach toughness, but it helps out in the mental game, IMO. I see these straight hoopsters start out in junior high and they never amount to anything...
  15. Good 2A player, but not in the same class as the brookhill players.
  16. Both would be shut down by a pitcher throwing 84 with a lollipop breaking ball.
  17. He's college bound as an OF'er for sure!
  18. The CR kids weren't throwing much harder than the kid from Neches and they hit just about every player in cayuga's line-up on the hands atleast once.
  19. I'm not saying small school guys can't be good. The brookhill kids are head and shoulders above the other guys mentioned is all I'm getting at. Haley from CH might be in that class, I've never seen him. I've seen minter throw and I've seen moss play and they have the ability to dominate games no matter who they're playing.
  20. Yes it does, they don't play the best of the best. There's a huge talent gap from the 2 brookhill kids to the guys you mentioned. You can't deny that!
  21. It's not making you any better. Neches doesn't prepare anyone for a playoff run...
  22. Soooo is this thread the best in 1A/2A or best in east, Tx? A lot of the smaller school kids have neve seen good competition
  23. Legitimately the fastest position player that is any good. Might be some tracksters out there, but they don't have his baseball talents.
  24. Sounds like sour grapes after they ran your team out of the gym.
