1A kids don't draw the looks because more often than not, they are overmatched when they get on campus because they've faced 1A competition their whole life. Not saying every 1A kid doesn't make it, but when you get a kid from a small school, it's usually a big gamble. Coaches can't afford to gamble.

And knockin' out 30 or 40 bombs ain't happening for anyone, unless you play at Cayuga's or Dawson's field.

I hope Elkhart lives up to the hype that the smoaky posters are building. Would hate to see a 2nd round loss or even a 3rd with the hype being built.

I agree. Playing in the Mill is like trying to beat Duke at their place. You might have the better team, but you're playing against more than just the Mill... Poyner is a lot more athletic and I think the Mill will have trouble with their speed.

Respectable as in making the playoffs and losing in the first round every 3 or 4 years? If that's respectable, I'd hate to see what kind of tradition your school has.

They are down, no doubt. But a down year for Edgewood is still 20+ better than Winnsboro.

The loss came from the fact that Edgewood has it's best players out. Put those guys back in and the game is reversed and the Wood comes out on top by 30. That's a fact. Dawgs will be dawgs, and Winny boy's basketball will be winny boy's basketball.

Your hours a day are a bit skewed, actually they're really off. No assistant coach spends 14-18 hours a day at the "office." Asst football coaches are usually assigned regions which they recruit, and more often than not, it's regions where they have roots, i.e. family ties. So in the offseason, when they go on the "road," it's usually back home to see their family and recruit the kids from their home region...
