  1. Pine Tree has a special board meeting tomorrow morning at 8..
  2. I'm sure Collins is looking. I just am shocked you put him and Bowman in the same post. Apples to oranges there.
  3. I just don't think he has what it takes to make the turnaround. On paper, he looks good. He has the Huddles and Heels night, Staff Member of the week, Breakfast of Champions, the nice website, etc. I don't think he has the attitude of hard nosed football. I think he lacks grit. That is all. Good luck tonight. I'll be rooting for PT anyway.
  4. I don't know why there is even a thread on this game. I am a fan but it's going to be a slobberknocker. I just don't think Collins has what it takes to make this team more than 1-9. The offense can't put up the points like they did two years ago. It doesn't seem that Collins is previous Offensive Genius of LT.
  5. PT cycles through a lot of staff in general. Middle school lost almost 30 teachers previous to last school year and intermediate lost at least 20 this summer. The 65 coaches were all sports and not just football. The sad thing is that Collins has played a hand in the girls soccer coach and baseball coach leaving abruptly and they had good things going. Fitzhenry had many faults but he got Carolee Musick and Bowman there. (Yes I know he's gone). Collins may be doing great things but he's also a Yes Man to the parents and admin.
  6. Yes, but it sure would be good if there was some consistency through the years. The turnover in the coaching department, principal turnover, and teacher turnover is not the kid's fault. It's central office. I don't think Collins will last more than two years because losing hurts, and if the current debacle with the PTHS student isn't handled correctly, I assume the Supt will move on as well. Crickets on this board and at the game. Everyone on PT side is yawning and looking at their watches.
  7. Are you being facetious? They probably won't win a game this year. We played Marshall well last year. Came down to a field goal. Too bad admin wouldn't leave that coaching staff intact. Best of luck to PT. We have some really great kids. Pitiful central office administration.
  8. They do have a nice new website http://www.pinetreefootball.com/
  9. Collins got rid of the black matte helmets and uniforms. Collins has a good resume, but he isn't going to be able to pull off a win this season. The stands are filled with band and dance moms, and they leave after halftime. PT has really great kids but the administration continues to screw things up. On top of having twelve coaches leave, they had 28 teachers leave middle school. The whole district is in shambles and needs a district leader that has the staff's back. They had six or seven principals leave the district last year. This is a top down problem. People don't leave because they love their job. Although the last AD made many, many mistakes, he knew smash-mouth football and had coaches that not only knew the game, but loved the kids as their own. When you have kids who don't eat on the weekends, you don't charge them for a pre-game meal. That's crazy. This isn't Lake Travis.
  10. Pine Tree has had kids quit left and right. They would have a good number of athletes otherwise. Head Freshman coach quit after Friday's game. Going to be a long year for this team.
  11. I think the only team PT can beat is Greenville. The reasons being PT has already had quite a few kids quit football, because new coach took away the two-sport rule that was brought in with last coach. So the baseball kids quit football. There are lots of new coaches, and most of the old staff jumped ship. And probably will keep leaving until the last day they can. New coach brought in a great guy, Lambert, whom the kids like. But that's about it. The new offensive scheme isn't quite as fun to watch as last year. Hayes is a great athlete, but he won't have enough to carry the whole team. Bowman still there, but "Assistant Head Coach". Not OC or DC. Pine Tree did not win a 7-on-7 game.
  12. Pine Tree lost 47-0 to College Station. A&M Consolidated I believe.
  13. "And either way, Longview has nothing to do with a thread like this. My statement was about Pine Tree and everything I stated was true. Heck, go read their Facebook page. Pirate fans are angry over this hire. The guy has been apart of more wins in the past three years than PT has been in a decade or more combined. They've made their minds up, just like they did the previous coach, and run him out of town" ^^^ this ^^^
  14. LT is a lot different than PT. I hope he can hang with it. It's going to be hard for him to built trust with the students when they wanted the Interim hired. Now it will be a different scheme with new coaches. Same ol PT. Starting from scratch.
