I don't think they are going to break any attendance records this year.....are they?
I doubt it. I saw on TexasFootball website that the Aledo game was the highest attendance at the time with 22k. I'm surprised that it wasn't over 30K. No idea what attendance is for today.

Duncanville is just damn good.....they are really good.
What does that say about DeSoto? They beat Duncanville.

Lost to Duncanville Desota , and now PNG .
Gotcha. I was thinking before this game.

Considering who they lost to play the next two games . Duncanville and Desota
I knew they lost to those two but who was their third loss? I can't remember them losing another game.

A 15-1 over a 13-3 really a upset tho?
Both ranked in the top 10. PNG actually ranked higher in the final poll. Based on that, not an upset.

Pulling for Duncanville. How many times have they met for the title? 4 or 5?

How does anyone keep Aledo from getting to like 15 titles?
Aledo is four points from being unbeaten in state title games. Both their losses were by one point. I watched one of those. Had their kicker not missed two extra points, they would have 13 now.

Thanks Blessed. Can't say I'm surprised by that.

What happened? I saw on TexasFootball website, the score was 21-17 Tidehaven. Now 24-14 Gunter. Did Tidehaven have a score negated by penalty?

Sorry, I can't resist. So far we've had Lions, Tigers, and Bears Oh My! Congratulations to Timpson and Malakoff on their first championships. And to Franklin for an excellent season and run.

Wow! No defense in this game! I was checking the Texas Football website for scores and it shows the score for this game as Mart - 250 Lovelady - 225 in the 4th.

Alot of people don't understand what Timpson is until that first play. And by then it's too late.
No doubt. I'm still happy with the season and proud of the team. Been a long time since HG made it 3 rounds deep in the playoffs. I hope this is something that they can build upon and sustain instead of the one or two good years followed by several bad years.
Congratulations to Timpson. I'll be rooting for y'all to bring home the championship.

Every Cooper fan that got on here has blocked smoaky.com from their internet browser... same as the HG fans.
Not all HG fans. I'm not surprised we lost. I was expecting it but disappointed that it wasn't closer.

Ok boomer. We’ve moved on from the loser mentality that you and others in the past have!
I'll be very happy if you are right.

As a former player and graduate of HG, I do appreciate your optimism GroveTroll and your ability to stir things up. While Sammy Hagar can't drive 55, I think you should. I haven't seen HG get past the 3rd round in decades. I'm optimistic about this team but let's see how they do against better teams.

I didn't realize they were playing in the Super Bowl! Not something that happens every day. Does the game count or it is like they never played?

I see on the Texas Football website, the game was suspended. HG was leading 16-0 with three minutes left in 1Q. Anyone know why?

Anybody see Benjamin press conference? First time I've seen a coach blame the officiating in a state tournament press conference.
I'm sure there were some missed calls. On both sides. Not enough for you to lose by 24.

Give me Lipan as well. I think it will be a battle though. I knew Lipan was good but seeing them knock off the undefeated #1 Nocona by 14 in the Regional Final got my attention. MM is an absolute mainstay at the state tournament but have certainly not come out on top as much of those times as they wanted so i know this year they will be wanting that trophy
I'll take Lipan too. I was looking at the records for some of the teams at the state tournament and Lipan beat Fairfield and Holliday. They beat Fairfield by 12 and Holliday by 19. In fairness to those teams, it was early in the season. It was Fairfield's first game and about the 7th for Holliday. Early or not, that is impressive.

That went like I expected it. I was certainly shocked to see the first score reported on the UIL website. Madison may lose but I don't think it is going to be at the hands of a 4th place team.

Can anyone confirm that Pilot Point beat #1 Dallas Madison, 82-81? That is what is shown on the UIL website but I've seen scores that were wrong before.
