  1. My understanding is that when the cops put up the drone they didn't have a search warrant. I understand that the drone was searching outside for these cows (yes cattle roam, so just them being on his property would not be proof of "cattle russlin"); but if they don't need a warrant to search above your property, into your property, what's to keep em from looking into the bedroom for those ancient sex law violators? What about poking into the garage to see if you have any hijacked tools from the neighbor? I think the issue of no warrant for this type of search is the bigger topic.
  2. Oh, and if you check on channel 8 there WAS at least ONE witness who is the one who actually made the first 911 call and thought "Hell's Angels" were loose. She was scared. And yes, she has talked to the Rangers. Glad this is in their hands.
  3. FYI Corsicana Daily Sun and Malakoff News have new information on this paragon of the police force. I hope if I ever get pulled over it's by a 5-0 type officer but these types are muddying the waters for the citizens. Not listed on those two papers but there is also a report of another "vehicle incident" when he was in Ferris and "entered the road hitting the suspect". This was a Rice, Texas incident. Since Rice is in Navarro County too maybe he just thinks our own can't handle business here. hmmmm Ernest Fierro is the officer's name, released yesterday. Seems he has a problem with driving and maybe even the truth even to his own agencies.
  4. For your information my brother is a retired Houston officer and one of my degrees is in criminal justice. My support of law enforcement was FIRM until proven, yes proven, to me PERSONALLY that the current population of officers has some VERY bad eggs. When you want to hear the side of the employers, the public, let me know. Good ole boys rule. I've said before not all are bad but those that are have caused our trust and faith in the others to fail. Don't presume you know all about me. If you had talked to witnesses as I have you would think different
  5. Based on all available information the "cop" was being reckless, not the 70 year old. Cop on motorcycle cut off truck while weaving through some traffic. Then "pulled over" the 70 year old in his pick up, handcuffed him on the side of the road THEN called the NCSO. That's my beef. He could have called it in (if it was true) and followed the truck until NAVARRO COUNTY arrived. Highhandedness at the least on the part of this officer. Since the poor man was from out of state I don't expect to hear another damn word about this officer. Brush it under the carpet guys. Hope it's not you next time.
  6. The symptoms started AFTER the S.O. arrived according to every source. If you have driven through Malakoff you know they are almost as bad as Waskom and Brownswood. I would have understood if he was speeding through Malakoff. He was EAST of CORSICANA in NAVARRO COUNTY!! Call the S.O. (which he obviously did after handcuffing the guy) FIRST, I don't care if you ARE an OFF DUTY P.O. from Podunk city. This officer was dead wrong handcuffing ANYONE in Navarro County for RECKLESS DRIVING!!! At least our Sheriff was smart enough to call in the Rangers immediately which was correct.
  7. I can't get the Corsicana Daily Sun link to post but this is another of those "cop gone wild" incidents imho. Rangers may find out different but I hope someone actually gets to the bottom of it. OFF DUTY cop calls in "reckless driving". Sheriff's office gets there and 70 year old in handcuffs on the side of the road. Grandfather goes into distress, cpr, ambulance, he dies. Just who do these "peace officers" think they are???? I'm sick and tired of the attitude of cops these days. 5-0 I don't know you or your other buds on here but dammit this just plain well stinks!!! DO SOMETHING about your buds. This has to stop.
  8. Did I hear that the "city" doesn't even exist at this point?? They plan to build it?? Someone needs a brain in these International "committees". nvm wishful thinking, like wanting brains in the UIL
  9. Lol. Yeah we had 2 1/2 hrs + for tolar & milsap. They were district games. As said uil doesn't care if fans/parents can make games.
  10. The whole blasted team was/is huge. They have 4A (this year) size. Ty lead the charge but they have plenty of others to pull from. Size is a big plus for them.
  11. I refer back to 5-0's post. Any use of a deadly weapon is using deadly force. There WERE children in the car. Shooting (if you are a trained professional) means you know that you can kill. Bullets don't always go where you intend them to. I will not back down on this one, ever. Any officer firing at a vehicle with children in it, EVEN AT THE TIRES, is wrong. If the bullet had ricocheted into the underbelly of the car and killed a child this would be a whole different discussion. I do NOT forgive the "parent" for putting her children in harms way, but the officer should not have fired at that vehicle in that situation.
  12. Her idiotic actions do NOT mean a supposedly trained PEACE officer shoots at CHILDREN. As 5-0 said, there are other options and he had NO excuse for using deadly force on a car with children in it. Just because parents make bad choices the police should not be the ones putting the children in further harm.
  13. 1993 Mansfield Wolverines have no idea against whom. 20 degrees with rain, sheet, freezing rain, snow and about 16 fans in the stand at game end. Only way to survive was sitting under the press box.
  14. Unjustified to use deadly force even if "shooting at the tires". Bullets don't always travel the way you think, look at that bullet 50 years ago. There were kids in that car. Deadly force was not indicated.
  15. I see you bailed on this topic after being told repeatedly that the FED . . i.e. NATIONAL, paid for this and promoted it etc. Now the FW Chief has admitted it was not right. Get your facts straight and as I said READ before blasting information that is INCORRECT!!. I will refrain from calling you a liar as you do so many other on this site but be very careful with your words that can't be backed up. BTW, my friends that work for TxDOT would be surprised that the Feds (other than money and requirements for National roads) are their immediate bosses. Bet they think that's in Austin. The DPS, is the State Trooper division. I'm sure of that because don't you DARE try to write a check to the DOT when renewing a license or get an ID. They are VERY sure of the distinction between DOT and DPS.
  16. +a bunch. If he was set up, more the fool he. He just need to say away from women for a long while.
  17. It was the NATIONAL Highway Traffic . . . NATIONAL means FEDERAL noob. There is not a post on here that any implied Republican, Democrat, Green, nor Libertarian has said they approve of unconstitutional search and seizure. In fact that one of the main gripes even by the p.o. that post here. Go read and activate your brain.
  18. I understand that but that makes getting to games after work almost impossible especially for JH or JV. There's got to be a better way even if it entails making some districts smaller than others. I missed 4 of my son's games this year just due to travel time vs. leaving work at 5. Games started at 6 (JH). May be "ok" for Var. but UIL needs to think of the kids and parents too.
  19. Alleged means accused, not proven. As in arrested, hasn't gone to court. As in INNOCENT UNTIL PROVED GUILTY. FYI I think he's guilty and needs to serve mucho time but had to correct you on this one. One of my pet peeves is people in jail considered guilty just because they can't afford to get out.
  20. BIG BROTHER is watching you. Oh yeah, they are "just" testing for impairment.
  21. Running game has a couple of possibilities. We have some good talent coming up but next year may be a down year. There is one kid on jv this year that is a good runner but needs some fine tuning and weight training imo. He's good but can't keep going if hit like Draylon. Draylon will be missed but his year has not been what it was with Nic at qb and the dual threat. Defense won the game against Dallas Life. Big shoes need filling. Youngsters coming up can fill em but prob not next year. In other words . . . no one next year probably but I've been wrong before. If some of those jv'ers fill out over the spring and summer it could be very interesting.
  22. Suffice it to say I did not expect Mildred to win. Heck I didn't even expect them to be in the playoffs and was pleased when they got 3rd. Rebuilding is a pain when you lose what we lost and we will lose more this year. Injuries hurt us some this year but I still believe this was a train em up year. I don't think I must eat crow as I was very very quiet this year LOL If I must for last years' loss to East Bernard, I want it rare rare rare . . . did I mention how big those boys were??? hehe
