*Tiebreaker: Score of Miami-FSU 41-20 FSU

GRRRR! How is it that I'm always a game back??? I think there's a conspiracy to hold me back, LOL!

REGIONAL
Vanderbilt at (16) Texas A&M
Well, after a surprising loss last week, Texas A&M gets to take out frustrations against a decent Vanderbilt team. As long as Texas A&M limits the big pass play against Vanderbilt, the defense should be ok. Couple that with a rebound game and playing at home, A&M may try and score 60+ in this one on route to a 20 point win.
(10) Texas Tech at (15) Oklahoma
I have been wrong a couple of times about Texas Tech, and still may be wrong about my prediction on how the Oklahoma Sooners will turn out this season... BUT, I still have to pick what I think is a better overall team despite their poor offensive showing this season. OU wins by a TD with the running game.
(8) Baylor at Kansas
Baylor fans crying for respect. I am sorry, your 70-7 win over Kansas this week, will not earn you any.
Furman at (13) LSU
Another one of the shockers last week when LSU lost to Ole Miss last week. This week the Tigers rebound against an FCS foe with a losing record. I expect an absolute blowout, but the Tigers have laid duds against some FCS foes the past few years trying to fix mistakes. Tigers big (I hope)
Texas at TCU
So this is weird for me to say this. Texas, one of the best teams in the Big XII, faces TCU, one of the most dissappointing teams in the Big XII... Texas by 10.

NATIONAL
(9) Clemson at Maryland
Clemson getting beat wasn't as big of a shocker as to how bad they were beat. Their 10 second offense looked non-effective against FSU's D and now they have to rebound against a surprisingly decent Maryland team (with some hideous uniforms). I completely expect Clemson to hold nothing back in this one en route to a blowout win.
(12) UCLA at (3) Oregon
UCLA is 5-1 on the season... ranked 12, I don't think they are #12 good... Great QB, but not good enough to beat the Ducks. Quack attack by 20.
(21) South Carolina at (5) Missouri
Missouri suffers their first loss of the year in this one. They are without their best player, they face another tough game right after a tough UGA team. I just think the Old Ball Coach wins this one behind his defense.
Penn State at (4) Ohio State
One of the more intriguing games for storylines this season. Looking at the BCS standings, Ohio State is still somewhat of an afterthought for the NC game until someone in front of them loses and this could potentially be the best game on their schedule at the end of the season. OSU by a TD
(6) Stanford at (25) Oregon State
Stanford wins this one... Oregon State shouldnt be ranked...
Wow, MavGrad, I am in awe of your prognosticating prowess. The uber-rare perfect week of predictions. Against the spread, well.....

I don't see TCU being capable of putting up 20 points in the fourth quarter. I'mma have to call it ballgame. Texas and Baylor sit atop the Big 12 with 4-0 marks.
-
Not the most difficult stretch of games left though. Tennessee at home, at Kentucky and ole miss. Those are 3 very winnable games which would put them hosting A&M to end the year with conference championship implications. If they are division champion quality they can pull that stretch off.
I just don't see them knocking off A&M. USC has a pretty winable conference schedule the rest of the way. Clemson in the finale won't matter because it's not a conference game.
-
Misery just prematurely ejaculated all over the place. They've gotta hope they can run the table now. USC and the HBC pretty much hold their destiny in their hands again.
-
Tech will be lucky to win one of those two. Then again, they do have a little defense....perhaps they slow Baylor down enough to win.

WOW @ double penalties against the offense. I thought it would be DPI against Duke Thomas for sure.

Well, I know one school that wanted to take their beating like men. The Cushing coach was screaming at the officiating crew for a running clock late in the game when the Bearkats were losing to Shebbyville 54-6. He told the crew that he didn't ask for a running clock, but they were running it from up in the press box. Several times the crew was signaling to stop the clock, but it kept running.

Murray is expect to play. Ware is expected to be out.

Wow, I think the only ones saw this coming was West Sabine
Congrats
I saw this coming, but only because I've seen both teams up close. It's amazing how many points West Sabine's offense can put up with a.....ummmm, let's say, methodical....approach. You would think that a team that's putting up 50 points a game consistently would be a no-huddle, hurry-up type of spread offense, but the Tigers are just very good at what they do. With that win, they most likely coast into the district championship, considering they play the bottom two teams in the district (Cushing, Grapeland) the last two weeks.

Apple Springs 68, Chester 12
Another win by The Apple puts them in the playoffs. It's a long trip down to High Island next week, but the Cards aren't playing very well.
-
I think the game as a whole is changing. Passing the ball is the new way to move down the field. The running game is going by the wayside, and if the ball's being run it's by the QB. This isn't our fathers' football anymore.

It boils down to two things for Saban....
(1) Money
(2) Challenge
Texas has plenty of both...the challenge of rebuilding a program and winning a NC at a third school, and the deep, deep, deep pockets of the alumni. I mean, when the band director can go to DeLoss Dodds and demand that the band be put up in a nice hotel, travel by charter jets, etc., and the AD doesn't bat an eye..........

And STILL no talk about alcohol? Come on, I thought this was a TABC thread!

Jasper has started winning finally, taking their last two (including one over a JV team), but Carthage will still win this one by 50.

How was that officiating crew that had to come all the way from Ft. Worth? Hope S'ville has fun paying for that crew and the crew that they scratched.
-
This thread is misleading....I thought this was about the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and they were ranking the best hard liquor.
-
This is NFL news, not high school news.

Plus, if the officials had missed the call, the SEC would have issued a reprimand on Sunday. Has anyone heard if that happened?

Here is the missed horse collar
You can see the ref on the sideline at the end too. Someone earlier mentioned johnny didn't go down like he was horse collared, but from the angle it was clear cut IMO.
The tackle started two yards before he was brought down. That's not a horse collar tackle. He has to be brought down immediately...like 2 yards behind where he was finally tackled.
The HCT is the most misunderstood rule of all time. Everybody wants it called on plays that it doesn't happen and then they're urinated off when it IS called.
