Amazing that you have 1-5, 0-5 EF has been outscored 211-35 through that 0-5 record Waskom like 207-171, not as bad could fans of both teams lets say 3 years ago, see anything like this happening I don’t see Waskoms fall as near as steep as EFs But I know the EF community was warned time and time again by some community members that this day was coming the way the administration and board were running things they believed you could just roll out the football and win 7 games no matter the coach or his staff I know that they had a tragedy this off-season, but the mass exodus of kids to Marshall and Carthage the past 18 months is something that was warned about But being all that as it is, nobody could have seen it go down hill like this Kids are being questioned by the superintendent about their experience in the program the past year and 1/2 Selective enforcement of team rules Just all kinds of craziness I hope something happens to change things I have several friends that have kids down there and it doesn’t sounds good Few have asked should they move their kids to Marshall (younger kids like jr high age) I said give it a chance, it has to get better Sometimes when you move the situation gets worse for you Hopefully it will be a good game this week it’s been too good of a rivalry I have heard some things on the Waskom side also about the direction of the program, but the ones I have contact seem to have some optimism that things will work itself out Just a lot of youth unfortunately I was told that several more JV players hung it up at EF as they have only played 1 game numbers are bad and they have moved some up to the varsity But unlike Waskom, the pipeline doesn’t look near as good Maybe if the enrollment continues in the direction it has been going the past 5 years or so, EF can move to 2A and have some success good luck to both squads Friday night on a clean and injury free game

Everyone except Texas High. Year in year out, that is true. who would you think would be 2nd in talent year in year out.

Marshall is a one HS town, so not comparable to Lufkin tyler, etc demographics have only changed in Marshall in 35+ years as far as the hispanic population has increased and whites have dropped some. That is not affecting the football performance. Marshall No longer competes at the highest level. We are middle of the road as far as 5A D2. Marshall dropping to 4A and then 5A D2 should have been a homerun for Marshall in a one HS town. Money has zero to do with the state of the program. Marshall has the facilities, it has the athletes, it pays its HC very well White flight has nothing to do with Marshall’s issues none as far as recruiting, Marshall isn’t losing kids to other schools They are actually gaining kids There are 3 starters on Marshall that played at Elysian Fields in the past 2 years 1 starter that played at Waskom etc I am confident in my determination of the main issues at Marshall I have watched it for 35 years Same mistakes made over and over and the crew in charge knows this, but instead if fixing it, they would rather be in charge and when it doesn’t work, blame the coach (that they hired behind the scenes for the most of them) but blame the Supt they hired for “making the hire” I know for some they will never admit the issues as I laid them out, they will make list like above that really have no standing in the real issues and I am not trying to be a smart xxx to you or anyone else that thinks by making theses list of claims (excuses) that they are helping It just keep the ones responsible from facing responsibility I am not posting anymore about it Probably shouldn’t have in the first place as things won’t change, just same ole same have a good one peace
