  1. I heard Hallsville Softball may have lost Holland for the season?? Any word on that?? Heard she injured her knee...
  2. I'm a '76 Hallsville grad.. 25 yr season ticket holder... Love to pull for and talk about the Bobcats... But I would be very surprised... You got to have the horses to pull the wagon... Longview has em, Hallsville is average good. Might even win a playoff game. But very very little chance of upsetting the Lobos this year.. Wish it were not true...

  4. Hallsville's 2nd pitcher is Haley Holland (Jr. I think... I know she is returning) She went 13-0 this year with an ERA under 1.00... Honestly she hasn't been the dominant pitcher that Cassidy Ferrill is... But, she has grown with the experience in 2015... She came in with Hallsville trailing after the 4th and pitched 3 innings in relief of Ferrill in the State Semi-Final against Cedar Park Vista Ridge (VR lost the final the next day 3-2). She gave up a grand-slam in the 7th to VR (BTW, VR averaged 10 runs per game in the playoffs this year)... She also pitched 4 complete "close out" games in the playoffs winning all four. She pitched 4 innings against 5th ranked Lovejoy (Lovejoy had swept Ennis the previous week) in the Regional Finals game 2 and gave way to Ferrill in the 5th tied 2-2.. (Hallsville dropped that game 4-2, winning game 3 the next day, with Ferrill pitching, to earn a trip to Austin)
  5. All 3 East Texas Softball teams that made it to Austin have been eliminated Harleton lost the State Final to Shiner Pleasant Grove & Hallsville both lost in the Semi-Final game. Congrats to all these girls for a great year.. I'm not familiar with the ages of the PG girls... But Hallsville only loses 2 seniors, one is Pitcher Cassidy Ferrill, the other SS Kelsey Ingram. Harleton's pitcher, Phillips, is a soph I think... So both should have a good team next season.
  6. Harleton pouring it on Bosqueville in Austin this AM - lead 8-0 after 5 Harleton Lady Cats advance to State Title Game with 8-0 win! Face Shiner Lady Comanches in Final @ 3pm Thurs Shiner will be attempting to tie a state record with a 5th Texas State Title...
  7. East Texas produced 3 Region Champions in Softball and is therefore represented by these teams at the State Tournament this week in Austin. These games will be Webcast Live on the following link: http://www.uiltexas.org/softball/state/softball-state-tournament-broadcast-information The 3 Regional Champions from East Texas are: Semi-Finals: 5-A Hallsville - faces Vista Ridge (Cedar Park, Tx - Just N of Austin) Friday @ Noon 4-A Pleasant Grove (Texarkana) - faces Needville (SE of Houston) Thursday @ Noon 2-A Harleton - faces Bosqueville (Waco area) Wednesday @ 9am Finals: 2-A @ 3pm on Thursday 4-A @ 10am on Saturday 5-A @ 1pm on Saturday All games are single elimination
  8. Hallsville softball (36-2) will be in Austin facing Cedar Park Vista Ridge (28-2-1) @ Noon on Friday - State 5A Semi-Finals Finals @ 1:00 on Saturday
  9. Not much more to say... Hallsville & SS both ran into endings... Wakeland didn't sneak up on the Bobcats... They out played them Looking at the SS series, looks like Propser dominated them as well... You never had a feeling that the Bobcats gave up.. They played hard to the very last out.
  10. Hallsville Ladycats advance to State Defeat Lovejoy 5-0 in game 3 of region 2 Finals on strength of 2 2-run homers. Hanna Mizell in 5th and Julie Ann Rawls in 7th... Cassidy Ferrill threw a complete game 5-hit shut out
  11. Bobcats fall 6-2 Wakeland moves on to face Prosper in Region 2 Final
  12. Looks like weather is gonna cooperate for Bobcats -vs- Wakeland Still too early to guess on Ladycats -vs- Lovejoy They have moved the game to Highland Park @ 6:00
  13. In the first 2 games of this series Hallsville has hit the ball hard but hit into outs... In game one the Bobcats hit into 4 inning ending double plays - 2 were with the bases loaded... Walker hit the ball about 370ft twice yesterday only to have the center fielder make good catches each time. If the hits start finding open spots the Bobcats will score some runs
