Not sure about who the best football in East Texas is at the present time,but, you can find one of the WORST at Nacogdoches.

If a kid commits to football or any other sport, he should stick it our for the season. Parents should not allow their kids to quit because they need to be taught to honor their commitments. If you quit a sport, it becomes easier to quit something else. Quitters are losers........period. As for the guy who said he quit to spend the weekend with his girlfriend..........if she wanted you to quit instead of coming to support you, you needed a new girlfriend and your teammates were better off without you because you would have quit on them when the going got tough. Show me a guy who quits sports and I'll show you someone who will bounce from job to job.

Nacogdoches ISD is a joke from the supt. all the way down. They finally hited the interim as permanent supt after naming her as the lone finalist TWICE.....the first time they didn't act on it. I guess she is desperate so she stayed. Now, they are doing something else that is unheard of .......hiring a new supt. and giving them a 14 month contract. LOL They are having a hotly contested school board election...........as far as the basketball coach, they should not have lied to him when they hired him about only coaching basketball. They need to shut up and give the man his job back. The AD who is running for the board is a long-time soccer coach and will probably win the election......he's very popular there. The former supt. msitreated him and lost his job for doing so.

Somebody said if parents pay taxes in a district, the kid should be allowed to play. NO, if the school isn't good enough to educate the kid, the kid should not be allowed to play on any sports team connected with the school........Personally, I don't think the majority of parents are qualified to home school their children. I coached and taught in Texas schools for 30 years and I don't think parents can adequately prepare kids for either college or the work force unless the kid's goal is flipping burgers at McDonalds.

I hate to bring this up,but, when you start rating great coaches, I don't like putting guys who broke rules and/or got their schools put on UIL probation.......How many times was Fort Wroth Dunbar slapped with a probation while Robert Hughes coached there? Aldridge was a guy of very questionable morals to say the least. When you list great coaches, wins are important but integrity and character need to count for something

Worst basketball officials anywhere come out of the Nacogdoches Chapter.................Baseball umpires have mostly been pretty good.

If you are born MALE, you remain a male........if you are born a FEMALE, you remain a female. You can have organs removed, take estrogen or testosterone, etc. but you are still the same gender you were when you are born. Males should be forced to compete against males and females compete against females. The UIL has always "selected" which rules and policies to enforce and their decisions are usually based on the school that is involved rather than enforcing rules to the letter. For them to allow that male to win the state wrestling championship as a female is a joke and a disgrace. It should be taken to the courts and hopefully a Texas Appellate Court will stop this nonsense. On another note, keep males out of girls restrooms and locker rooms....we have allowed liberals and perverts to run things for too long.
