I completely agree with you. I know that Coach Turner was in charge of that weight room during Coach Stine’s tenure. They won a State and National Championship in Powerlifting during that time. Stine was hard nosed and pushed those players. They were practiced hard and they played hard. Very tough teams. That’s what has lacked since Graf has been at the helm. Great guy but not one that was hard nosed for he players. The culture changed. Losing became ok. Turner could definitely be that man but that’s also why I mentioned the basketball coach, Coach Hart, from a few years ago. They were tough on the court and were in the weight room more than any basketball team in the area. Finished 3rd and 4th in district his 2 years there when they hadn’t won a district game in a few seasons. He’s young, full of energy, and very well liked and respected by the players. Could be a great hire if given the chance.

Coach Turner is a outstanding man and coach. Would be a great hire. I think it’s a mutual agreement for Graf. Think he and admin both know it’s time for a change.

I would like to see Redwater either Promote their DC, who would bring life back into that athletic program and bring much needed stability, or bring back the basketball coach from a few years ago that turned that program around in 2 years. From what I have heard both great men of character and rich in football knowledge. The basketball coach who left is a young guy and graduated from PG. Pretty sure he won 2 Baseball State Championships there. Could be what they need to get things at least competitive there.

Let me just say PG101 you are wrong in just about everything you say. So let me correct you so you will know just a little bit. #1 coach jones has not pressured kids to only play baseball. In fact he like the multisport athletes a little more and sees that they may can bring more to the table. So sorry you're dead wrong. And of course the other coaches would say that about jones. They didn't want him on the staff. I know the way jones operates he would not do that. #2 I'm really confused on where you're getting that coach phillips isn't a good coach. Yes he is hard on his players but every good coach is. He wins and former players come back to see him because they love him and respect. The same goes for coach jones. Next every coach teaches the holding of the jersey. That's not just him doing that. It is absurd if you don't think he is a good coach. I'm sorry but you have no fact to prove he isn't. All the facts prove that he is. He has won everywhere he has coached. EVERYWHERE. He has a state championship in every sport.

I came through the pg progarm and played for davis jones and phillips. Jones and phillips are by far my favorite coaches. They both build charcter and teach the things that will help you become a better person and man. So sir you have no idea what you are talking about if you think phillips does not build character.

Surat is one of his best friends. He's not a head coach. He could be a good OC but he's not a good head coach.

That's the football coaches fault for not talking to them and wanting them to play. Like I said losing was ok. That's still not baseballs fault. It was same way when I was there.

I didn't know winning 4 games in 3 seasons was doing good with what he had. In fact that's awful. Here another thing for you, how come the 7th and 8th grade teams win and when they get to high school they can't even compete. Tells me there being better coached in 7th and 8th grade.

The baseball success had nothing to do with footballs downfall. People quit playing football because nobody on the coaching staff had the will to win. Losing was ok. They have the talent to win games just not the coaching.

Phillips is the best pitching coach in the state in my opinion. Jones is the best defensive coach in the state and when you put those two together you have the formula to win championships. They went together and both knew what it took to win. No matter what anybody says pitching and defense wins championships and that's what they did in the 6 years they coached together

I will quote you because you said that it was implied. I didn't say that you specifically said it was jones. What I did was inform you of how Jones is and does things about multisport athletes so you know how it is and won't "imply" anything about him.

I can be 100% sure that this does not happen when it comes to Jones. As a former player of Jones and 3 sport athlete I can say this with certainty. As a specific example my senior year after I played football under Jones, I was trying to decide whether to play basketball or go straight into baseball. I went to Jones to talk with him about it to see his opinion and he told me to play basketball. He said that this would not hurt me for baseball at all. Jones likes the athletes that play more than one sport. Always has and always will.

If you're referring to PG having the best pitching coach in the state an ignorant statement then please name a better one. and in response to your other post in the scrimmage texas high did win but i cant say that either team was really trying to win playing freshamn and sophmores on the mound but they did win but in my opinion in a live game best on best PG wins 5-2 bc they play better defense and more small ball. another thing if you think for a second that PG couldnt hang if not win Texas highs district youre crazy once again. and i did not say that pg could beat every 4a team in the state though they will compete with all of them and give them there moneys worth i said that they would have beat every 4a team in the state tournament (thats the final 4 teams) and half the 5a and yes i watched all of those teams play.

As a program PG has done better bc they have 5 straight appearances to the state tournament and 2 state titles. That out does Texas High. Now as individuals t high has done better sending players off to the d1 level and to the pros. Better players maybe better teams not a chance. And when i say team i mean as a unit who play together who will do whatever it takes to win a state championbship for their teammates. And again i state that there is not that big of a difference in a and 4a. Not as big as you're trying to make it out to be. you're making it sound like if you're below 4a you #### and dont matter and winning a state championship means nothing because you're not 4a. The PG team could have played with and beaten every team in the 4a state tournamnent and some of the 5a. But you wont think so bc PG pithcers dont throw 90 plus mph. but they can spot up just as good as anybody with plus movement on the ball and sorry that beats a pitcher who just goes up there and throws hard. And if you dont beleive me look up Greg Maddox he proves the point im trying to make.

Strikeout33 with you saying that shows how little you know about baseball because all those kids could pitch. I could give you reasons why all were great pitchers even at the 3a level which you think is so much worse than 4a when it really isnt its about the same to be honest. But i have figured out you are a PG hater who doesnt like them bc they have done better than your precious tigers have done lately.

1. Michael Wacha drafted by Cardinals. 2. Michael Gilley had a .59 era his senior year and went undefeated 3. Jon Phillips had a .61 era and also went undefeated his senior year. 4. Timothy Buchanan is the career wins leader at Pleasant Grove with over 30 wins. 5. Roman Brown surprised everybody and only lost 1 game this year and was the state championship mvp this year. So what you said is crazy and is far from true. And another thing Texas High will NEVER EVER beat PG in baseball by 10. And if they could then why not prove it one time and just play them.
