  2. No offense, but you don't get rings when you win events at the state track meet. You get gold medals.
  3. D'Moe's time at state last year (2006) was 13.73. His time at state in 2005 was 14.12 The overall state record is 13.10 and the 2A state record is 13.60. Just for your info the national record is also 13.10. They grow em fast down here in the Lone Star State. I hope the above amounts are correct. I looked on several websites and got differing amounts. I just put the lowest tmies that I found.
  4. I look for Denarius Moore to break the state record in the 110 Hurdles and win the state title in the 300 hurdles in 2A. I also look for Donavon Sammons to break 48 in the quarter mile and also return to state this year, but this time for the gold medal in 2A.
  5. University of Tulsa Freshman, Jessica Ford, made her mark in the record books this weekend at the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Houston's Bill Yeoman Field House. The former Tatum athlete ran second leg on the Tulsa Women's Distance Medley Relay team to set a new school record for Tulsa and also a new record for Conference USA. The 2 1/2 mile relay consists of four legs of varying distances, the first leg is 1200 meters, second leg 400 meters, third leg 800 meters, and the fourth leg is 1600 meters. Tulsa's time of 11:40.37 was enough to clinch the gold for the championship time, break the 2006 Tulsa school record of 11:42.25, and smash the Conference USA record of 11:47.13 set in 1999 by Tulane University. Way to go Jessica!!! Congratulations to you and the rest of your team. May you continue to have success this track and field season. Go Hurricane!!! PS She also made the Dean's list. Thanks to all at Tatum who have influenced and inspired my child to be the best in all she does.
  6. Two of Carthage's former cheerleaders were in a terrible accident today during the rainy weather. Miss Deana Henigan ('06) and Janie Collins ('06) were in a weather related accident. Deana was killed and Janie was lifeflighted to Tyler. Please pray for these girls' families and friends. Deana will be missed by many. God's Blessing, Comfort and Peace to all.
  7. Which Texas high school football team has made it to the state championship game the most times without bringing home a state championship? (OUCH!)
  8. The Big Sandy/Celina game in 1974 must have been a tough one. Was that before there was overtime? How did they decide who advanced when there were ties in the regional and area playoff games before overtime was used?
  9. I forgot about Sealy, sorry. They beat Tatum at the state championship game in 1996 (the third state championship in Sealy's four-year run). Looks like SLC may be about to get their third in a row.
  10. I was just wondering if there were teams that won state championships more than two times in a row. I feel like there must have been some team, sometime in the past, possibly several teams. I'm not that knowledgeable about high school football stats, and I thought somebody on this forum might know. They would have to have a lot of talent and really good coaches to hang on for three times.
  11. Is there a list of Texas high school football teams that have made state champion three years in a row? Just curious. I added another question in a reply below.
  12. I'm looking for a place to listen to the Cotulla/Hearne game online. Anybody out there have a suggestion where to look?
  13. Anyone know of a place online to listen to the Cotulla/Hearne game?
  14. Great season Texas High. I was on your side all the way to the end. Wish ya'll the best next year. Glad you beat Highland Park and others this year. You guys were fun to follow.
