This is one of the oldest and definitely most bitter rivalries in North Texas. The Sherman/Denison rivalry has us beat in number of years, but not by many. I remember hearing of the 1994 game and broom but wasn't there. There have been some great games over the years. The match up this year should be the 2A game of the week, we'll see. Looking forward to it!

Yes, most likely, if HG finishes out as it should this will be for the district title. HG has talent that’s been added at the Freshman level that has paid dividends. This will be a good matchup.

Hard to believe that this rivalry is approaching the century mark, I think it’s the 94th meeting between the two this year. I haven’t seen many that come close to that over the years in NE TX other than Sherman/Denison. Looking forward to the matchup on Friday!

Agree on the renewed rivalry, and excited about this matchup and over the next few years. Cooper was always our biggest rivalry across all sports. Bulldogs looking sharp this year, but not going to be the blowout expected early on in the season. Hope both teams stay and remain healthy. Hoping these two teams can do some damage post season. HG 28 Cooper 35 Hoping for the upset though!

Bulldog...I hated that as much as you. Going back to 1914 or close to that. Plus, both towns look forward to it every year. This year would have been a great matchup. I hope that you guys are on our schedule very soon.

You're welcome HG6. I'm not as close to the program as Guitar is from his more in depth posts. Just an ole HG Alumni that still follows the program. Fact is, HG was supposed to be down this year from all the papers pre-season. That obviously wasn't a correct assumption. I do know that they will have 8 or 9 coming back on offense and that incredible coaching staff to boot. Not sure about the JV. I see them having another banner year next year, hoping so at least.

A big kudos to the HG coaching this year as well. That just might make the difference we need down the line. Coach Lewis has proven playoff experience and excellent staff. I'm definitely proud HG has him.

I'm hoping they concentrate on one game at a time. They definitely have the talent to go the distance. Appreciate all the comments for the Warriors.
