  1. Haven’t seen Centerville since 2012 against Hughes Springs. They were plenty violent then. And Timpson’s biggest weakness is having a big line smash straight at them. But, nobody has played well enough yet to beat them yet. They beat DF,Joaquin and Waskom. I will bet on them to keep playing this year.
  2. Man I opened up a bigger can of worms than I expected by offering up praise for Bussey’s talent. I didn’t stipulate position. Just said he could fill a spot on any 6A team in the state. I figure he will play corner in college and maybe return punts and or kickoffs.
  3. This one is gonna be hard to gauge. Harmony has vastly improved during the year and might control the clock on WR. If so, they could win this game. Hope they play this one in Rose Stadium.
  4. Couldn’t resist this. It seems neither of those two will see Hooks after Harmony did the same thing to Hooks that they did to Waskom. That Harmony O line is pretty darn good.
  5. Left this one early. Happy to see Frankston score Some points. Bussey could fill a spot on any 6A lineup in Texas. Timpson may struggle to beat Joaquin again though.
  6. Dang, it looks like crow is the bird of choice for Thanksgiving up at Hooks this year . I am thinking Harmony may have the coach of the year winner.
  7. Love well run slot T football. Thought this could happen but Beckville has looked pretty good when I saw them.
  8. Not that it matters anymore, but WR had the offsetting unsportsmanlike on the brawl, a forward lateral, and a false start prior to great catch to win it. The only one that really bugged me was the no call holding on the corner which let WR go past him for the score. Pearson was screaming at the ref and ref was shaking his head no. I know the refs had no stake in who wins, so I just couldn’t grasp that situation.
  9. I will be expecting Hooks to blow Harmony out based on your analysis. Will be interesting to see how this goes.
  10. I did not see that happen, but heard a nearby fan make the same comment on the coach thing. I sure hope that isn’t the case. Everyone can question the 4th down call, but if they had called the dive and it failed we would be questioning that call tonight. The QB got much closer than I expected based on the penetration he faced. The missed call on the incomplete pass , then the pass interference call were huge keeping the offense alive. But, before that a Waskom kid cost his team 15 yards because of undisciplined behavior. Well, tomorrow night I go see my grandson’s Frankston Indians whip up on Timpson.
  11. After a long drive home I can sit down and reflect on this season. Waskom as some who have watched this year can attest, have been a mixed bag of undisciplined kids and that was on display tonight. But I hate to see any kids lose in such a manner. Could say a whole lot about officiating in this game but that would change nothing. Bottom line, get one more first down and the game is in the bag. Could not get it done. Congratulations to WR. They get one more week to compete. I don’t see them as serious contenders beyond that. Not nearly enough Defense to compete against DF or Newton IMO. Waskom will (should) be better for the next 3-4 years.
  12. No penalties on WR . Except for one unsportsmanlike till 16 seconds left and a false start. SMH.
  13. Unless the Waskom D lays a huge egg, WR will not score 49 points. I do see the Waskom O getting 14 though, and maybe a couple more.
  14. The only teams that I would say are on a higher level here are Newton and Daingerfield. DF because of speed and athleticism and Newton because,, well they are Newton. Everybody else could slip against their opponent this week IMO. And, Daingerfield is beatable with the right circumstances. Would be surprising though.
  15. This thread started good but drought made it wilt like my spring garden did this summer. In my younger days I might have come up with a good insult to the Raider posters to just stir the pot. Don’t really know much about them except they ran fast at a track meet I attended. Glad this is a football game where people get hit Instead of a track meet.
  16. If someone doesn’t have a team to root for, and wanted to just watch a game, this would be the one to go see. Spread vs. slot T. Two good teams going at it.
  17. The only success I have seen against Timpson came from old time hit them in the mouth football. Frankston plays spread finesse football. Frankston has some speed but not nearly enough to compete in this one. Daingerfield speed from the spread couldn’t hang if one needs a comparison here.
  18. I know 22 is but I was referring to the 130 pound “ant man” who just came up. Hope he can grow a little cause he brings it with what he has to bring. Heard he is pretty good at QB too. But maybe you were talking about him all along?
  19. . Head coach has never been on Smoaky. He did marry my baby sister though and conned me into coaching for him once. Classroom teaching was akin to being in jail. Had fun coaching though.
  20. Well, heck. Was hoping Frankston would get another game in prior to this. Frankston has had a fun year and has a bunch of underclassmen playing. Beckville showed them the next level they have to get to next year. Maybe Timpson will win it all this year and show the Indians what it takes to win a championship. Proud of the job the coaches have done in Frankston.
  21. I like the way this thread is starting. Unlike all others this year which are like a Dick and Jane 1st grade reader with 10 paragraphs and close the book. Finally, Waskom is in conversation . Keep it up folks!
  22. WR should have the speed advantage. Speed usually wins. But Waskom’s freshman safety now has varsity experience after Hemphill. That should be enough to give them another win.
  23. Read the whole thread this morning. Looked like the world was ending in MV early on, then most were over rating what Keeling and staff could accomplish in Tatum in the first season. In the end, weather affected the game and MV had the more talented team to respond to it. Tatum inherited a great HS QB and should be better next year.
