  1. Yep. I remember a few years they had amazing QB play around like 2014. Didn’t do well after that.
  2. How I felt last year when they contracted some people to stream our second round playoff game. It was awful.
  3. Can’t really say I’m interested in purchasing any more games after last years debacle where we had a 12 year old running the camera who couldn’t follow the game and dropped the camera multiple times. Fool me once and all that.
  4. I remember him absolutely schooling Bama last year. Hence why I say I like him as a DC. But even then, isn't he big on the 4-2-5? That's not as viable in the SEC. My thing is... he had success at TCU in the Mountain West. Once he didn't have the cupcake schedule, he had a couple good years in the Big XII before tanking. In 5 of his last 6 seasons, he had bad years. Not really sure why that was.
  5. So here's the story there.... People wanted Fran gone by early 07 after we lost BAD at Miami, but he had a big contract/buyout. The same people who gave Sumlin and Jimbo big extensions did so after Fran went to the Cotton Bowl in 04. Real geniuses, those guys. But in late September of 07, it came out that he had some newsletter that he was sending to boosters who paid $1200 a year that revealed all kinds of stuff like injury information, Fran's deep dive analysis of players and whatnot. As you can imagine, A&M then had cause to fire him without having to pay the buyout, so it was pretty clear that he was gone at the end of that year. Even moreso as the season progressed and we struggled with Fresno, lost bad to Tech, lost bad to OU, lost to Kansas (they did have a good season that year- Orange Bowl win), etc. So it was well known that he was gone after the season, meaning a coaching search was well on its way by mid-late October at the absolute latest. By that point, it was clear as day that Fran wasn't gonna have some miraculous season to save his job. Fran beat Texas in his last game, resigned immediately after the game, and 3 days later the coaching hire was officially made. But even then several people knew. Kinda like how Jimbo was officially hired December 1st, but there were serious rumblings with traction for the week before that.
  6. Sherman was hired in late November 2007, like 3 days after Fran resigned. That's crazy!
  7. Shyeah. Campbell has those guys playing hard every year, but this year Texas is too good lol
  8. Reminds me of a few years ago when the B1G changed the rules so Ohio State could go to the championship game and then playoffs. Teams like Michigan and Minnesota now cry when OSU gets favored by the refs and in this "cheating scandal", but they voted for it.
  9. After the national title game, most likely. You may hear rumblings before then that actually have traction.
  10. I don't want Robinson to be our head coach moving forward (mostly for the reasons you mentioned above), but I DO want him on our staff. In addition to being a great recruiter, DL is not an area A&M has underperformed with him here. Matt Rhule spoke extremely highly of him when he heard that Robinson was promoted in the interim. Losing him would be a huge blow.
  11. Correct. I feel like a few t-shirt fans on this site have forgotten that.
  12. Was posted already lol. Pretty funny. And herbie gave us a shoutout lol!
  13. I appreciate your perspective and push back. It was certainly relevant but to your point, it was a combination of scheming and playing with a backup. Max Johnson is a decent QB but decent is about it. He was a 3 star player out of HS while Weigman was a 5 star. There was definitely drop off. But it was also scheme. Due to a bad OL, our schemes needed to change and we needed our QB to move the pocket and a mobile guy to do that. I think you saw a little bit of that on Saturday. I know it was only Miss St but it did look like the offense was changed quite a bit and it was far more effective. A more mobile QB and schemes that moved the pocket. There is a lot of speculation that Petrino was finally able to have full control. So yeah coaching failed before too. In addition to losing a 5 star guy for a 3 star guy.
  14. I agree with the shutting up between plays and holding onto the ball. And the stupid false starts. If we keep getting flags for celebration, false starts, and fumbling the ball (whether it's on a punt or just running) then we won't even make it to Aledo, much less beat them. Sadly most losses in the King era in the playoffs ARE due to our own mistakes- turnovers, missed kicks, etc.
  15. So with the OK State loss, is OU back in the title game? Or does it look like KSU right now?
  16. I'd take your Wing T over what we've been watching on offense.
  17. Regarding the trophy, that was given to Jimbo by Chancellor John Sharp. Every A&M fan I know agrees he's an idiot and that was just another in a long line of his idiocy. Don't really see how that's a shot at A&M, but at one individual (that A&M fans agree was stupid). A&M is 6-4... The Miami loss was bad- Durkin's worst game this year by far. Otherwise, all were close games (one possession or less) against top 20 teams (2 on the road and 2 against top 10 teams). All 3 SEC losses were with a backup QB. It is what it is. I thought that with a win vs ACU, a possible win vs LSU, and a bowl win, that would get us to 9 wins which isn't the END of the world when most games are being played with a backup or 3rd string QB. Utah is facing the same issues- lost their QB and have lost several close games to good opponents. Oh well, people with a lot more money than me want him gone lol I personally think the big money boosters have big egos and Kiffin running his mouth and then schooling Jimbo was what broke the camel's back. That's my head canon lol.
