  1. It was on the cityoflufkin website for a while. When I get home I'll see if I can find it and post a link.... I'd bet I could watch it now.
  2. Tell me about it. That was the first time all year that I felt like we were going to lose a game (aside from when we missed a 4th down attempt at midfield against Evangel.... I briefly thought we were going to lose that). Even against Rockwall when they scored late, I knew in my heart that we were going to win the game. Or Lee when we trailed for all of the second half. Against Lufkin, it was actually facing that 3rd and 6 that I felt like it and the pick on that play basically confirmed it.
  3. Incorrect. He didn't run it in. He was tackled and Lane scored a few plays later after Lufkin converted a 4th down. That pic actually brings back scary memories cause that was very close to my view of the play (from the left guard position).
  4. Right. But still. There were 3 other teams that year who were undefeated and should've at least been given a chance.
  5. The only time four wouldn't have been okay with me is 2009 when Texas, Alabama, Cincinnati, Boise, and TCU were all undefeated. One of them would have been left out despite going undefeated during the regular season. That was my only gripe with the BCS- many teams start the year with no chance to win a national championship no matter how well they played (even if they went undefeated). But 8 would practically guarantee we get all undefeateds in, and conference champions.
  6. Apples and oranges. A drunk driver was not attacked first.
  7. That could work. You'd have your conference winners and then a few at large teams, giving midmajors a chance. Irony at its best.
  8. Yup. Some crazy with a history of violence who has done this many before attacked him and he defended himself instinctively. But hey, throw all that out the window.
  9. I think that punishment is a bit harsh, even. He was attacked while drunk and instinctively defended himself. Captain Hindsight says, "If you didn't want to be hit hard, you shouldn't have attacked a bigger person than you!"
  10. I may actually be at this. Gonna be in Dallas that weekend celebrating my future father-in-law's birthday and unless we go to a Rangers game Friday night (which I don't even want to do), I'll be there.
  11. I'm pretty sure that Longview and Lufkin both have their own online streaming so you'll have your pick. :)
  12. Collins was the Head Coach from 2000-2003 before turning the reigns over to John King in early 2004 and becoming full-time Athletic Director (which was later renamed Director of Extracurricular Activities because he didn't have some certain certification in Texas or something). He retired from coaching after his 50th season. I remember there being a big banquet for his 50th year, and he handed over the reigns not long after that. He was a great coach, and I'm only sorry that I only got to see the tail end of his career.
  13. This would make a great book or blog story series. Nebraska was a dominant team. Then the 1996 Big XII Championship game (one of the top 20 games of all time imho) and they slowly fell apart. Even in 2001 when they played for the title, everyone knew they had no chance.
  14. You'd think with how much **** he talked about Evangel and how they do things, he'd stay clear of a place like Calvary. Weird.
  15. Marshall had back to back runs to state in 04 and 05.
  16. You put quite a few words in my mouth with that post. All I did was say that you had a pretty big cop out in response to his post that contained tons of things that you apparently couldn't respond to, so you just said "this proves it!!" That's a pretty big fallacy. Besides, a lot are seemingly proud of being backwater. So what's the big deal if someone points out that there are some backwaters here?
