  1. Keep trying, maybe you'll get lucky one day.
  2. I have got to say that I am happy you picked EB. You picked: Arp to beat EF; HS to beat EF, Clarksville to beat Mildred; Nocona to beat Mildred; Sonora to beat Mildred; Refugio to beat EB; then you cursed EF by picking them to beat EB. With your picks being sooo consistant.... well, 'nough said.
  3. see ya next week... if you get that far.
  4. *sniff* a whole week and no one found this forum from west TX. I guess they're charging the batteries to light them big lights in Marble Falls since us high folutin folks from Mildred aren't plugging our cars into the stadium lighting.
  5. Did a Google search and this forum thread was the first thing on "Senora vs Mildred" search. They can get here if they are at all interested.
  6. Hypothetically speaking: If school_XYZ has so many immigrant kids (who don't play football, OP's premise, not mine) that it is now class 5A, but can only get 10 students that are interested in football, then it drops it's football program and saves money. What would be the harm? The football program is there to suit the needs of the students, not the other way around.
  7. aww, Eagleman, you know this is an East TX forum. If you're not from East TX, you're a nobody who never played anyone. If you beat an East TX team, you got lucky. We sure get lucky a lot...
  8. I'm a bit confused too. The preview article for the game against Mildred (www.sonorabroncos.org/page64/page64.php) spends most of its verbage talking about Sonora winning state semi-final games, most of which occured before any of the team was born. The most recent, 2001, the current team may have just started elementary school. In a search to find some stat that showed the Broncos superior, they went to sacks; most of the teams Mildred has played have relied on running the football. It emphasizes that Mildred lost to Centerville 70-22 (knew that was coming up AGAIN). Of course, Centerville went undefeated in the regular season, won their district, and lost to HS by a missed extra point in overtime in a game Cville was favored to win. Sonora has lost to teams that were 9-2 (eliminated in first playoff game), 2-8, and 12-1 (still in playoffs). If we excuse the loss to Wall ( a division 1 opponent who won region 1), that still leaves a team that went 3-2 in district, tied for second, and lost to its district's second worst team. Do they get free deer sausage with the bus trip?
  9. +10 But it's their norm. You probably know that better than I.
  10. Tale of the tape: AdjustedStats prediction: Mildred 37-28 66% Rushing: Mildred 284.2 Sonora 252.9 Passing: Mildred 183.1 Sonora 78.5 Points/Game: Mildred 55.8 Sonora 35.5 Record: Mildred 12-1 Sonora 12-3 Last Game: Mildred 45-35 (vs Nocona); Sonora 42-21 (vs Colorado) This SHOULD be our easiest game in a while. That probably makes it the most dangerous. After the Centerville debacle and last week's scare from Nocona, I don't think Coach Harvell will allow the players to take Sonora lightly. The Broncos will be coming into this game flying high from last week's dominating win and nothing to lose. I think as long as we keep our heads in the game, we win by a couple of touchdowns (at least).
  11. Better stick to hopscotch... you can't predict football.
  12. Gratz EF! GL next week against EB. Bye bye my little ponies!
  13. Where is the Yellowjacket/Brahma game going to be played?
  14. You are correct that stats do not win games. But since I was busy watching Mildred games, it is a convenient way to find out something objective about the teams. You will not get anything objective on these forums. I apologize for getting carried away in response to the sophomoric name calling HS fans have been doing about Mildred for at least 2 years now. They know nothing about us. Yes, I could have flippantly responded as they have, just not my style. It was wrong of me to impune an entire community over the words of a few idiots.
  15. I believe it is very relevent. This is HIGH SCHOOL football. The teams are representing their schools and I was wondering what sort of environment these HS fans were brought up in. The article, which is on THEIR website, is full of euphemisms, politically correct BS, and I bet no one there pays any attention to it at all. I moved my family to the Mildred ISD after our larger neighbors to the west, Corsicana ISD, put 4 bond issues before the voters: build a new football stadium, improve other athletic facilities, expand the student parking lot, and buy new books for the district. Guess which one didn't pass? The attitude of HS fans reminds too much of Corsicana fans. And so does their logic. At Mildred, we're proud of our school, not just our football team. We don't sacrifice the former for the latter. In answer to the OP's question, probably no one. It's kinda hard to fairly evaluate any of the teams on Refugio's side of the bracket since EF is the only one who posts stats. All four of the schools on our side do; I guess we're a little less paranoid. AdjustedStats gives EB the best shot of the remaining schools but they have been wrong about all the region 1 games since the first week. I think the website unfairly biases our team due to the Centerville debacle; I think that game made us a stronger team, not a weaker one but I know a computer cannot understand that.
  16. I guess you missed all the other games we played this year; by your standards, they looked like basketball games too. Went to look at Maxpreps for HS stuff and guess what, NOTHING. Zip. Zero. Must not very proud of your stuff because you keep it in the closet. Maybe someday you will grow up enough to at least come out of the closet.
  17. It's going to be fun proving you wrong for the third week in a row. So true. But it would be fun beating HS again this year. They're so paranoid that they don't post stats like everyone else. Or is it that they can't do stats because that's one of the higher learning skills that their mission statement says they don't have. EF isn't so chicken.
  18. Well of course Gunter wants Nocona to beat us, same reason HS wants it so bad. Guess who ended both of their seasons last year. Having said that, Nocona appears to be a better version of Cooper. Maybe some of that is a weak schedule but you have to remember the source of most the nay sayers: East TX sycophants. A team doesn't get this deep in the playoffs merely by luck. Still believe we will win, though. Also believe we will have more fans in the stands.
  19. http://www.hsisd.net/users/0003/12-13%20Website%20Docs/2012-13%20HS%20CIP.PDF Well, at least I know where all the horse dung comes from. It is being taught at Hughes Springs. They apparently have no arms (page 4); still have slavery (page 5); they're teaching the horses, not the students (page 5); and they currently do not hold anyone accountable (page 6). This last one is particularly disturbing but explains the likes of HS1988. So sorry for your improper education. I hope you do win, it will be all that you have in your very small world.
  20. There are 7 teams that have a shot at defeating Refugio, only one has guaranteed shot, let's limit the discussion to those 7 teams. I am sure the Dallas Cowboys could beat Refugio (wait, maybe not sure... pretty sure... I think they would be favored), but they aren't going to play them either. So quit fantasizing about match-ups that aren't going to happen.
  21. He doesn't want to make a bet. He just wants to twist facts and say, "'Stangs WIn, derp derp derp, I win". I think he needs a trip to the mental hospital. Maybe he'll shut up after they go home this week or next but probably not.
  22. Keep looking into that mirror, Harry. Maybe you should seek psychiatric help as you are delusional. Now get back on your on forum where there are plenty of delusional people like you.
