  1. My friend, if you only knew how great my life really was! And that's even without the meds! And I am a very nice person! You just have got to get to know me....of course, calling me "honey" won't win you any points...especially if you aren't a woman. (You are a woman, aren't you?)... By the way, you should learn not to be so sensitive about that wide spot on Highway 84 North.
  2. I wonder how many of those scholars on the Tech football team will struggle to be academically eligible throughout the season because their overpaid coach...
  3. That is because way too many of them are too busy drinking, chasing girls (and fathering dozens of children in the process that they never take care of), skipping class & thinking somehow they deserve an A...all the while thinking that they are the next Heisman Trophy winner! Give me a break - their pay is that they get a free room, free food, and the opportunity to get an (free) education so when they finally realize that out of hundreds of thousands of college football players, that there are only a few hundred who make it to the pros they can actually go out in the real world and get a job so they won't end up like their buddies on government handouts!
  4. Actually, Stondo...I liked the "dinostupidsaurs!"
  5. Unfortunately, it is something Mack would do/does. There are/were several players who had the same number. In fact, in several cases, there were actually three (3) players who wore the same numbers. Now, of course they could not play during the same play, but just check the roster below. http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com/spo...footbl-mtt.html
  6. Not that I would ever defend someone from ou, however, the reason why they won't wear "0" or "00" is because it is a violation of NCAA rules (Section 4, Article 2 [FR-30]: Players’ Numbering ARTICLE 2. a. All players shall be numbered 1 through 99. Any number preceded by zero (“0’’) is illegal [s23].
  7. I don't have a problem with him being in a Cubbies uniform at all! Of course, Rangers red would be ok also!
  8. Gold, if you knew anything about John Wiley Price and his infamous reputation, they could even called him that and he would have behaved the same way. Sometimes, you simply have to call a spade a spade... (and the use of "spade" is not a racial term in my example.)
  9. To begin with,to compare UT Tyler with UT San Antonio is like comparing apples and car batteries. UT Tyler barely has 6,000 students, while UT San Antonio has 30,000 full-time plus another 24,000 part time students. Heck, Tyler Junior College is twice the size of UT Tyler! And I have to agree with Mavchamp - UT San Antonio has not even fielded a team, so how do we know if their football program will be a success?
  10. Nor am I. And maybe he should go to college, a job, and get a degree so he can support himself. Doubt it.
  11. Lighten Up Francis! HOWEVER, since your daughter (or one your son's friend's daughters) put it on Facebook and then one of your fellow Joaquinites put on Smoaky.com....then it is EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS here on SDC! By the way..I'm 6'05" 285# and I'd love for him to try and tackle me! :smirk:
  12. Actually numbnutts, even though this article was from ESPN, I found it on the Lubbock Avalanche Journal....you know, the newspaper from the same place ttu is located... And did you actually read the article... it backed up little of what you said. Of course, I have to agree with Immortal - very few Americans and most Texans don't even care about ttu. They are such an insignificant team which it comes to college football!
  13. (From the Star-Telegram): No guts, no glory, as Tech blows a shot to beat TCU Posted Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 By Gil LeBreton New season. New TCU football team. Winningest quarterback in school history -- gone. All-America defensive end -- gone. All-America safety -- gone. Rimington Trophy-winning center -- gone. Best all-round offensive threat -- gone. Twenty-six Horned Frogs seniors -- gone. And Texas Tech elected to cancel its 2011 football game with TCU. A cowardly escape? That's the way most of America will be reading it today after seeing Thursday's headlines. More than that, however, it was far from a well-informed decision. In the high-stakes world of college football scheduling these days, you pick your spots, especially on those rare occasions where you can. So, what gives? Can't anyone in Lubbock read a football media guide? The Rose Bowl is over. The Horned Frogs are reloading. There will be a new quarterback next season. Half a new defense. Even half of a new stadium. If ever there was a season for the Texas Tech Red Raiders to possibly regain some ground on TCU football, this coming season was it. Instead, Tech and head coach Tommy Tuberville apparently have decided to take their chances with the likes of New Mexico, Nevada and Texas State. With their Big 12 schedule expanding to nine games, the Red Raiders needed to drop one nonconference opponent, and the team that was 13-0 and won the Rose Bowl this past season seemed like the best one for Tech and Tuberville to stiff. Texas Tech drops TCU from schedule -- again. For most of the day, that little headline scrolled across the bottom of the ESPN TV screen. It had to make all Red Raiders proud. Some Tech fans, however, have their guns in the air. Something about Texas Tech wanting TCU to agree to a new home-and-home contract, beginning three or four years from now. But what does that have to do with the 2011 cancellation? TCU associate athletic director Jack Hesselbrock has a hole in the Frogs' schedule that he suddenly has to fill. With the ongoing construction at Amon G. Carter Stadium in mind -- expected to reduce next season's capacity to the 32-33,000 range -- TCU had gotten the go-ahead from Cowboys Stadium officials to move the Tech game there. But Tuberville said no. And Tech fans had better get used to it. This is a head coach, remember, who squandered an undefeated season in 2004 because he had filled his Auburn nonconference schedule with cupcakes -- Louisiana-Monroe, The Citadel and Louisiana Tech. Two other unbeatens, Southern Cal and Oklahoma, were deemed more worthy to play in the BCS Championship Game. This is also the head coach who told Ole Miss fans one day after the 1998 season, "They'll have to carry me out of here in a pine box." Two days later, Tuberville announced he was leaving for Auburn. And this is the head coach who, after his '99 Auburn team scored a rare win at LSU, led his War Eagles back onto the field in Baton Rouge and lit up cigars. The LSU crowd was livid. Tuberville probably won't be scheduling the Bayou Bengals while in Lubbock, either. No need for Red Raiders fans to demean TCU's schedules, either. The Frogs have future games planned against Virginia, Oklahoma and LSU. Tuberville, of course, is not alone in college football these days in wanting to protect his self-interests. There also are our old friends, the new darlings of the Mountain West Conference, Boise State. School officials from the MWC are scheduled to meet Monday and are expected to vote on a proposal that will move the Broncos-Frogs game this season from Fort Worth to Boise. It's a cheeky move, one that Boise itself has been pushing for since TCU announced last fall that it was leaving for the Big East Conference. Admittedly, TCU is in no position with the MWC to expect any favors. But the Frogs' success and bowl appearances in recent years have helped to pay a lot of MWC schools' light bills and coaching salaries. Why the parting nastiness? It is also far from fair to the two schools that likely will be competing against Boise State for the conference title next season -- Air Force and San Diego State. How can the MWC in good conscience allow newcomer Boise to play its three toughest games all at home? Let's clear up one myth: Boise State likes to whine that nobody will play it. In truth, according to more than a few athletic directors, there are plenty of teams around the country that would like to schedule the Broncos. But Boise State won't play them unless they agree to a return game on that silly blue turf. Why not come to TCU this season for a final Frogs-Broncos farewell? Cowboys Stadium has an open date. I think we all know the answer. And the Frogs have a broken schedule to fix.
  14. (From ESPN): For a second consecutive season, Texas Tech and TCU won't play their scheduled football game. TCU associate athletic director Jack Hesselbrock, who is in charge of scheduling, confirmed the change Wednesday. The Red Raiders were to visit the Rose Bowl champion Horned Frogs on Sept. 10 in Fort Worth. Texas Tech, however, needed to drop one nonconference game in order to fit in a ninth Big 12 game and opted to keep its games against New Mexico and Nevada and drop TCU. Texas Tech will be part of the Big 12's newly aligned 10-team league. TCU offered to relocate the game to Cowboys Stadium from Amon G. Carter Stadium, which is undergoing a $105 million renovation, but Tech declined. Tech and Baylor are in negotiations to move their Nov. 26 game from Waco to Cowboys Stadium. The Horned Frogs beat Wisconsin on New Year's Day to finish No. 2 in the final AP Top 25 poll and USA Today coaches poll. A source close to Texas Tech said the Red Raiders are looking to push back any game against TCU a few years. Hesselbrock said Tech could re-schedule but that it wouldn't be before the 2015 season. Tech would owe TCU a forfeiture fee if the game is not played, Hasselbrock said. Last season's scheduled matchup in Lubbock was canceled when ESPN wanted to televise the Tech-Texas game on the same date. ESPN then worked to set up TCU's season-opener against Oregon State at Cowboys Stadium. TCU athletic administrators have expressed dissatisfaction at being notified of the cancellation this late because it will be difficult to fill the vacancy and nearly impossible to schedule as high-profile an opponent, which is important considering BCS rankings. With the Mountain West departures of Utah and BYU, the Horned Frogs were already looking to fill voids in their schedule. Incoming Boise State is scheduled to play TCU next season, filling one of those slots. Hesselbrock said the conference is attempting to move that game to Boise to give the Broncos home-field advantage over the Frogs, who are leaving to the Big East in 2012. TCU still will have a Big 12 team on its schedule next season as the Frogs open the season at Baylor on Sept. 3. Texas Tech has not released its 2011 schedule because it lacked one nonconference game. Two sources confirmed that the Red Raiders will open the season at home Sept. 3 against Texas State, which is now coached by Dennis Franchione, and will move its scheduled Sept. 17 home date against New Mexico to Albuquerque. Jeff Caplan covers colleges for ESPNDallas.com. So instead of playing TCU, ttu decides that they need a chance to win so they play New Mexico & Nevada - both football powerhouses!
  15. Agreed. Of course, TCU has tried to get ttu to play them...but the girls up in the panhandle have chickened out the ast couple of years...
  16. Man oh man, you sheep humpers...I'm sorry, you aggie boys sure do come out to defend each other. I am no way defending TCU. The last NC was the year before aTm's, in 1938. My point for h-town's posts is to not make it about aTm...thus his own pointless post.
  17. No kimchi Sherlock! And here I thought you were making it all about aTm....didn't even realize they played in the Big 12.
  18. And aTm hasn't won a National Championship in 71 years ....how 'bout THAT for some knowledge!
